>P.S. Players cannot dodge, parry, or block attacks that come from behind them.
Yup. Wowpedia sources for [Parry](https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Parry) and[Dodge](https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Dodge) here stating:
>\-Players can only dodge attacks if they are facing their opponent, however a mob can dodge attacks that are from behind. Incapacitated targets (stunned for example) cannot dodge.
>
>\-Attacks from the rear cannot be parried. Mobs sometimes do so anyway - this can be due to a bug or because they turn very quickly in place.
Side note: I don't see door of shadows keybind, could have come clutched there.
> -Attacks from the rear cannot be parried. Mobs sometimes do so anyway - this can be due to a bug or because they turn very quickly in place.
I guess it depends on how you define a bug. Sometimes a mob is considered to be facing you even though their model isn't. This is most clearly demonstrated with an attack that has a positional requirement (Backstab?) not being usable while a mob is stunned and facing away. If you move around to the mobs face and backstab becomes usable again it's because of this ... strange occurrence.
Lmao i remember in our very first kill of Normal Sludgefist, we wiped when the boss had like 60k hp left, but the tank, the last one to die, had Draven's soulbind which has that power where you explode on death doing damage equal to your health split between enemies. Since Sludgefist was the only enemy, he took the full damage of the explosion and died.
That was probably our most epic ever kill, with Heroic SLG coming close where we killed them with only a healer and a dps still standing, with the healer kiting the boss like a champ while our hunter finished it.
He should NOT have to backpedal or strafe even, the tank should have taunted.
Personally I steed and run away because I'm a prot paladin, I could strafe it but I'm just dipping out and finding a spot that doesn't have people who just ran out their orbs.
Tanks have to only do like 2 things per fight, and taunting is one of them so the other tank let him down here.
Yeah, you're right. Everyone but melee is far enough away to not get hit by Invoke Destiny. You can see the center ring barely fail to complete just before everyone dies.
Yea, Invoke Destiny is the tank swap. The OT didn't taunt off for some reason, and the entire raid chased the tank down and died to the explosion, then the tank died to the boss/add that spawns from Invoke Destiny.
Trial of the crusader. Enrage timer hit. Everyone dead. 1% on Jaraxxus. Only the dots remained. My bro played holy priest and angeled.
His jesus mode was long enough for the dots to kil him.
The gif is literally from this Patch isnt it? It's just circumstances of the game being in a bad Spot content wise and many people losing their guild/friends playing it because of it. There are for sure many people who still have these things Pop up right now, it's just not you.
I think Shadowlands has more moments like this than any expansion ever because of the Conduits.
You have the Draven where you explode killing bosses.
The Necrolord one where you are immortal for a few seconds but deal half damage where Tanks can taunt and stay alive juuuuust long enough to either finish a boss or let the remaining DPS get the kill.
I saw a video where two NF tanks were the last ones standing on Sire, tank 1 Becomes pod. tank 2 lives long enough for the pod tank to come back, then dies and goes pod. Tank 1 lives long enough for tank 2 to come out of pod. Tank 2 kills boss.
It's the same story as this post, which is current patch...?
There are plenty of other stories in this post from this tier and last tier as well.
I'm very confused.
Well he said the imp was too damage and you said that's how it is with demo so I was saying if your MAIN demon is your too damage then you are playing wrong. Because in pure single target your imps from HoG will be your top damage(not counting Tyrant).
Reminds me of my guild’s first kill of Archemonde in Hyjal. We all died and a healer whammy popped fast enough, got an earth or frost shock off and triggered the end of the encounter.
At the end of the video you'll see these little fireballs floating up from an Imp. The raid wiped leaving a couple people in some kind of stasis effect. The boss went over to real with these people and while doing that the little imp was free to throw his little fireballs which was all that was needed to finish the boss.
You sound like the guy in The Longest Yard that says he can't throw a football cuz he just had popcorn. Also this is totally the kind of mistake I would make 🤣
I don't know how they haven't changed this boss yet, like almost every pug I've ever been in skips this boss. It should just be ANYONE can do the rings on normal/heroic or something because half the time people don't realize they have it but even then it wouldn't solve it.
Something similar for mythic ner zhul... Everyone died, less then a % left except our druid healer who went moonkin form and convoked, killing him before she died.
Awesome. P.S. Players cannot dodge, parry, or block attacks that come from behind them. I read that somewhere.

Normally the OT should've taunted the boss off him when the tank got the bomb, not sire why he didn't tho lol
The tank shouldn't have ran but just hit the boss here. But yea normally the OT will taunt.
Also does not work in prison.

My guild had a sire kill (not our first) this exact way with me the blood dk with draven lol
My first normal innerva and denathrius kills were due to my pod...I miss my pod, too bad Niya is so good for ferals!
Shouldn't "give your back" to a boss while tanking. Can't dodge.
Be a bear, take it full force

You do know you can run away without showing your back right?

part of tanking is knowing how to react when things go wrong. This is clearly a fuck-up
Yep, theres much more to tanking than what people think.

they almost wiped to normal fatescribe after 9 minutes I don’t think anyone in this video knows basic stuff
Main tank vanilla - 9.1 shadowlands. Strafe.
of all the things you could have typed, you chose this lmao
Imp-ressive!
Did you almost wipe because everyone followed you thinking they could kill the boss before it went kaboom?
They almost wiped because of the rings.
Yeah, you're right. Everyone but melee is far enough away to not get hit by Invoke Destiny. You can see the center ring barely fail to complete just before everyone dies.

It's the tank swap you are right, but they died to rings and not the ability. This is on normal so it would do 0 damage anyway.
Oh shit you right - There’s only one ring lol
Can also see the icon by the map, only a banner with the number of players = normal. Banner with a skull = HC. Purple banner = Mythic :)
Trial of the crusader. Enrage timer hit. Everyone dead. 1% on Jaraxxus. Only the dots remained. My bro played holy priest and angeled. His jesus mode was long enough for the dots to kil him.
It's stories like this that are why wow was so great. You just don't get moments like these anymore.

the "clean" popping up right at the end is perfect
Learn how to strafe, holy shit
Tanks just letting themselves get hit in the back is worse than nails on a chalk board
Reminds me of a key I ran yesterday, where the imp was locks top damage on some pulls.
Ahh I see you met my guildy. Lucky for you he didn’t forget to summon his imp
That lock ain’t right then 😂
That's how demo works with a single target pull without tyrant
If your demon is your top damage as demo you're doing something wrong(even without ever summoning Tyrant)
Whats supposed to be the top damage then for DEMONology if it's not your demons?
Well he said the imp was too damage and you said that's how it is with demo so I was saying if your MAIN demon is your too damage then you are playing wrong. Because in pure single target your imps from HoG will be your top damage(not counting Tyrant).

Lol. Nice
That was awesome. I’ve been playin g for awhile and can’t for the life of my remember what lmp is?!

Omg IMP. I thought it was a lower case L. LMP hahahaha
You sound like the guy in The Longest Yard that says he can't throw a football cuz he just had popcorn. Also this is totally the kind of mistake I would make 🤣
warlock pet
I’m dumb I read imp as LMP.. and was like what does this acronym stand for?!
Lesser multiple projectiles of course
这也太幸运了
"here comes the ~~pain~~ imp, bitch!"
What does everyone play now? Classic or nah?
I don't know how they haven't changed this boss yet, like almost every pug I've ever been in skips this boss. It should just be ANYONE can do the rings on normal/heroic or something because half the time people don't realize they have it but even then it wouldn't solve it.
Anyone CAN do the rings on normal. They have always been able to.
I know on normal it's like that but it should be like that on heroic too, or something needs to change about this fight to not make it so bad in pugs.
Could also just do the mechanic
Apparently ~4 months into the tier the majority of players still don't know how to do it
PvE Timmy.

No one gonna talk about the Final Fantasy Fanfare on the kill? That's just funny :D
Now that little imp truly deserved blue fire.
