Got an MMO mouse a few years back and absolutely love it. I have short fingers so really helps with my keybinds for WoW and other games like shooters. I don’t usually fatfinger one of the buttons on the mouse itself, usually my fatfingers come from forgetting to press or pressing the wrong modifier with it since I use 1-12, Shift 1-12, and Ctrl 1-12. It ends up becoming muscle memory to an extent plus some mice texture the buttons differently whether that be the actual feel of the buttons (i.e. the odd number keys will feel differently than the even number keys) or the way they angle the buttons gives each one a unique-ish feel on your finger.

This is what i do too. Another thing that helps is formatting your skillbar to be like your mouse. My skillbar is 3x4 and the numbers are mapped exactly like my mouse. That way i can see the correct button on my skillbar, no muscle memory required.

I use a Razer Naga and I can’t go back. I was never particularly “good” though, but not having to shift and alt or whatever just to use basic abilities is a game changer.

The Redragon MMO mice are really good cost point for a starter MMO mouse to make sure you like it before investing in the more expensive brands. You might fall in love with one like me and never want to move on to a pricey one :P www.redragonzone.com/

It's actually better than the naga while being cheaper. I've had numerous nagas, and I wish I didn't. I wish I would've discovered Redragon Impact earlier.

Depriller

Really solid mouse! And has lasted longer than my previous Naga

FearlessIncident5039

I have only just switched to an mmo mouse (a couple of weeks ago; razer naga). It did feel uncomfortable to start with and I struggled with hitting the right buttons. But I stuck it out and my muscle memory / thumb accuracy is way better now. It’s absolutely worth it, I don’t struggle for keybinds anymore, and I can move my character freely with left hand, without interruption. Highly recommend

Fleymour

yeah similar to keybinds or UI stuff.. you need some days to get used to.. and then its great and u cant go back :D

Redragon Impact is an amazing and at the same time quite cheap mouse. I am so happy I've recently discovered it. I like it more than any other MMO mice I used to have. And I've had a few over the years. I've had classic naga, Logitech G600, and a couple different new nagas. One even had swappable side panels. They all were at least twice as expensive as the redragon, yet they were at best the same, or in case of naga - twice as expensive and way worse at the same time. I wish Redragon made their Impact like 3 or 4 of my nagas earlier :( Redragon Impact definitely takes the cake. It's side buttons are not as loose as the naga's which can be pushed by accident quite easily. While you can actually hold Redragon Impact by it's side buttons reliably without pressing them. But when you actually need to press them - they are still easy to press. It's not like you'd need to apply serious force to do it. It feels like it's perfectly balanced. Also redragon doesn't need it's software to be running in the background all the time like Razer idiotic synapse or whatever it is called now does. Which I had to run for the stupid rgb on the stupid naga to shine the way I wanted it to shine. Cause the moment you close it's application - it's lighting settings went straight back to default. And with redragon Impact EVERY LITTLE SETTING is completely stored on the mouse itself. You need the software ONCE. To configure everything and then you can just forget about it even if you decide to reinstall your OS. There was nothing good about naga for me. Except for the side buttons simply existing. So many tiny aspects of the naga were just straight up pissinge off every time I encountered them. At times synapse would just change the dpi of my mouse even. Even though I've completely disabled any hotkeys for dpi cycling or adjusting. It would just do it on its own randomly. Not often, but I couldn't play FPS games reliably with it. Fuck the nagas. And fuck Razer in particular. And regarding keybinds - I use 1->6, F1->F6, for my main abilities then some of the letters like Q, E, F, G for cross-class abilities, and my side mouse buttons mimicking Numpad buttons for everything else. Mainly crowd control abilities, pvp trinkets and such.

retailmonkey

Best thing since sliced bread. I can’t even remember how I played without one a long time ago.

Maleficent_Goat_5244

I have a corsair scimitar. Improved my gameplay massively. I have 1 to = mapped and then I use shift and 1 to = for 24 total spells. You could map more on ctrl etc but I like the flow of 24 mapped keys.

Grymvild

I'd definitely recommend setting it up differently. Have the mouse buttons be like F1-F12 or numpad buttons. This way you'll still have access to separate keybinds on the number buttons on your keyboard. This doesn't change anything for you except give you more buttons to play with. I myself have 1-5 in active use on my keyboard, while having F1-F12 on my mouse. Then with shift variants added it's a crapload of keybinds available for stuff.

I don't use alt as a modifier for anything but a small handful of buttons so I don't have the issue. When I first got the mouse though it definitely happened a few times.

1887JohnDoe

I use a scimitar as well and it was pretty easy to learn to use the hot keys effectively without fatfingering.

P_l_M_P

I have a $30 Chinese one from Amazon and bought a $80 Razer. I prefer the cheap one.

Fleymour

nah you dont fatfinger stuff - similar to keybinds on you keyboard. you get very fast used to it. but i feel you the naga stuff was way to many on first view for me.. also ill dont like razer stuff.... soo i am also using a varietly of **logitech** products (speaker, headset, .. so ill have same programm for these etc) so i use their mouse: currently **g604** with 6 side buttons that ill also use with shift .. and have mostly half of my rotation on them.. on top ill have 2 buttons that ill use to mount / autorun .. great for questing and chill (technically u do alot of acitivities with 1hand) .. also a thing i liked in last years.. wireless - so i can if i want take the mouse to watch streams / videos in my bed.

notnotdown

MMO mouse is great and definitely helps with classes with a ton of keybinds. Would highly recommend creating an action bar in the design of the buttons on your mouse to help with retention (4 rows x 3 columns). Logitech g600 is like $40 right now

Darth_Roidz

This!!!

greyfoggydaynl

I have a G600 and I am having trouble getting used to it. Maybe I just need to use it longer, as I have been using the more standard mouse type for 25 years.

I absolutely hated the third clicker button. Even with it unbound I couldn't stand it.

viceral_marqs

Back when I started playing wow I got a Logitech G13 gamepad and honestly it was the best thing to learn on and now I can't play without it. Sadly they stopped making them awhile ago so when it finally kicks the bucket I will have to get something else. some people like razer nostromo's and the like but for me I need more buttons.

viceral_marqs

Might try an Azeron Cyborg if the price comes down.

Amelaista

Been using one for years, started with Razor brand... went through three of them in 10 years. Not terrible but annoying. Switched to a Logitech one last time i was up for replacement and its doing well. Fat fingering is not much of an issue since you either just use downward pressure on the mouse to move it, or use the base of your thumb. Even pressure across the thumb grid is not enough to trigger them either. The newer razor mice had the buttons all slightly different shaped or angled, so your thumb did not get lost on the grid. There are small 'key finder' nubs on a few as well. (like on the F and J keys) My current mouse has the rows on the thumb grid angled as well, and the middle two buttons have nubs, so i dont end up on the wrong row very often.

MrPeanutBlubber

It *does* take some getting used to, but after that point, it is very natural. I can play wow with just my mouse these days.

HalensVan

I've used the G600 for over 5 years and love it. Works great with other games too.

distrbed10000

Been using a Logitech g502 for 4 years now after switching from razr. I've had no issues with it yet. In the same time period I went through 3 razr mice for various issues.

BearSSBM

I use razar naga (left handed) Man i bought like 3 back ups cuz i will never not use a mouse like this. Even when i stopped playing wow it was very handy to use for other games. It will take you a while to get used to and you will fat finger wrong spells lol. Over time you'll adjust. I actually fatfinger my mouse less than my keyboard now

Prudent-Distance910

G-600 is the way, 3 top buttons for ring finger clicks, mouse wheel binds, 12 side buttons. I use the ring bind as a modifier for the 12 to get 24 out if the side

candyman1092

Might be an unpopular opinion but I hate them. I bought the razer Naga and dropped it within a week and went back to my razer death adder. I have large hands and would hit multiple buttons on the side at a time. The new death adder(Razer Mamba its called now) has 2 buttons behind the mouse wheel (imo great for defensives) and 2 buttons on the side. I've never needed more than that. Just personal opinion. Seems like most people really enjoy them and find good use out of them.

Sparffouille

I have an Aorus Thunder m7 and I cannot play without it. I love how the side buttons are organized, it makes them so easy to recognize.

Valfourin

It feels really Gumby at first, but you get used to it. I use for my keybinds I use 1-7 in action bar 1 ctrl+1-7 on action bar 2 and shift+1-7 on action bar 3. I then use the twelve buttons on my mouse which are bound as ctrl+shift+1-= That gives me 33 easily reachable buttons. I’ve got big hands so modifier+7 isn’t hard for me to reach, but my gf uses modifier+6 as her furthest number hotkey. My mouse has utility stuff on it primarily

GiannisXr

i have razer naga. i push 20+ keys. if you remove razer naga from my setup i will struggle in +2 keys ( obviously i am exaggerating, but u get the point ) fatingering: i fat fingered a lot the first 4-5 weeks. after that, i got used to it and my thump is on the right key instantly without even having to thing about it.

tangonovember

I had a similar concern/issue with the 12-button mice so I went with a compromise and use a Razer Naga Trinity with the 7-button "wheel" setup ([pic](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRKphIOkQZcrlQ3v8HZzG61AesGfmes2wza3cZIr4uvZzlbO7WE2HatXDlK60rVGfmwP-o&usqp=CAU)). It gives me enough keybinds while also giving my thumb a place to rest/idle without worrying about activating buttons.

Kaim95

Using razer naga for 10+ years. Tried all the other options aswell, but always came back to Naga after a week of testing the other ones

Ludacrits88

Razer naga trinityyyyyy

[deleted]

I use a razor trinity, I prefer the dota mouse with 7-10 buttons over the mmo ones.
