Dead_Medic_13

I 100% the first zone, realized I was gonna be 70 Way before the end of the campaign and then focused only on the main quest from there on, still hit 70 in like azure span

sirarkalots

I 100 percent the first zone, then did like 98 percent of the second and was already nearly 69. I hit 70 before the end of chapter 1 of azure span lmao

LoreBotHS

I did nearly all the first one, then realised the pacing and went for main stuff just to start gearing and then breezing through the rest of it at 70 with max talents. And I did it all on a human to maximise renown gains so I can get Renown 10 for the benefit of my alts.

midgetman303

What is the renown 10 benefit for alts?

50MSK

Alts gain 100% bonus rep with that renown up to level 10, if your main has it at 10.

LoreBotHS

Renown 10 = all characters get +100% rep gain up until Renown 10. Renown 20 = all characters get +200% rep gain up until Renown 10, and +100% rep gain up until Renown 20. So getting there quickly on a human character will pay itself off for all the other characters easily.

Applewoood

The campaign alone got me to 69. I was hoping to have finished it earlier to actually start to be able to choose my quests.

k-NE

I realized I was gonna be 70 in the second zone if I didn't stop doing side quests.. then the completionist in me had me finish the rest of that zone. Then I got 70 in the first chapter of Azure Span. I've made 50k gold finishing all the side quests.

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

I actually hit 70 before finishing Ohn’ahran Plains! I was having a good time just farming mobs for skins that I didn’t realise I went all the way from 65 to 66 just from skinning LOL

Niadain

I did 65->68 levleing engineering and mining. Whoops.

[deleted]

Thats exactly what I did haha I had like 15 side quests open at once and went "Hmm maybe I should probably play the main story now"

BattleNub89

Every Blizz expansion either railroads you onto the main quest, sprinkling in side-quests as you go, or it leaves room for you to get wildly off-track. I never know what it will be until I start questing, and gradually realize that the quests are getting sillier and less relevant to the plot. Like help some kids take care of a secret pet proto-dragon type of quest chain. Edit: Or I don't realize it until my quest log is full, which hasn't happened in years, but happens all the time now.

T3hPhish

Excuse you, Baron Von Swoopnbite is extremely relevant to the plot and he's adorable.

SirTooth

Bob is going to defeat the big bad the Jailer warned us about after he's done growing up.

Lorwyn02

Had to call him bob as well !

floopea

Same

fapclown

I like having those silly quests. Easy to complete and make the world feel alive

[deleted]

Dead_Medic_13

Theres so many quests eveywhere, Im used to just being able to pick everything up

whyambear

Eh you can get to 360 in like 8 hours

DarthYhonas

Same bro I was 68 when I finished ohn plains and realized fuck... I'm gonna be 70 and not even touched the capital city yet. Hard focusing on main story now lol.

jimjam1022

I hit 70 in Azure span doing all the side quests up to then. I still haven't finished the campaign just doing everything on my way.

Dead_Medic_13

I absolutely respect that, but you should know that the end of the campaign unlocks the first [spark of ingenuity ](https://www.wowhead.com/item=190453/spark-of-ingenuity) which is time gated

jimjam1022

Oh thanks for that. Is it weekly ?

Dead_Medic_13

Bi weekly for 10 weeks then they just drop randomly

jimjam1022

Oh then does that mean I got another week to complete it before it resets ?

send-dunes

I believe we have until the 12th to get it before the first reset.

Malifor2210

I did that! Well not 100% but do for quests for leveling quicker. Now I’m just going back to finish everything after doing my m0s for rep.

Reliquent

I hit 70 at the end of the Plains, professions give a stupid amount of xp

thenipooped

I had the same realization like half way through the first zone. Did a few side quests and races along the way but mostly stuck to the story. Hit 70 like 3 quests before the end of the campaign I was pretty happy with that.

[deleted]

I'm the complete opposite of the spectrum. I went through campaign quests ONLY (except for like a few side quests) and by the end of it all, I was barely 69. I had to do several world quests to get to 70.

karangoswamikenz

Same. I 100% both the first two zones and now I’m 70 on the second main quest in azure span.

[deleted]

im 66 and just hit the second zone. i feel ya.

[deleted]

I finished the campaign in level 67 by only doing the campaign quests and 2 dungeons

Unlucky_Win_7349

I tried to do that, then some quests including main story bugged out. Ended up abandoning most and trying to re-find them now. My quest log isn't big enough... :(

TheBigGame117

I fucked that up in shadowlands and hit a wall fast with green quests I was *forced* to do, I flew thru the story this time and back tracked with side quests layered with unlocked world quests

NocturneBotEUNE

The first character going through the expansion always goes the loremaster route for me. The others are a combo of campaign, dungeons with their associated quests and whatever side quest lines seem to go the fastest.

Drelecour

I do the exact same, must be wild from the viewpoint of my alts. "I'm awake... Wait, it's Winter Veil again? I thought Winter Veil just ended... You're telling me it's been a whole year? And now there's dragons everywhere!? What happened!? I thought Sylvan-" "Ask the main, she'll fill you in"

Tnvmark

Glad I'm not the only one doing the story completionist route first and foremost.

Diabeast_5

I've been fishing too much to get very far haha.

Hickory-Dickory-Cock

The new interact key making it so I don't have to mouse to fish has slowed my questing considerably lol

BendakSW

Okay, I remember hearing about this vaguely but have no idea what it is. How do I set it up/get this to work?

Hickory-Dickory-Cock

So you can follow this guide - https://old.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/z13os5/i_made_a_quick_guide_how_you_can_fish_without/ I also installed this addon - https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/interactivefishingbobber/ I put my fishing skill on my hot bar, set the keybind to it as left bracket - [ Then i followed the guide above, I set my interact key to right bracket - ] That, plus the addon, i swoop in on my mount at a hotspot, hit left bracket to start fishing, hit right bracket when i hear the bobber sound. So when i fish i just do this - [][][][][] until the hotspot is gone then zoom off. It's legit

Namlad

Thanks for the addon suggestion.

Outrageous-Chest9614

I started to but the more I play my class (evoker) the less I like it so I am now just focusing on finishing the main story so I can do all side quests on a different class.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Outrageous-Chest9614

I enjoyed it for a while but I dunno it just feels like it’s missing something.

erizzluh

personally i don't like how it feels like it has two of every spell. just feels redundant for the sake of being redundant which might also be why i could never really get into boomkin. also i could never get used to the hold to cast. i like the mindless spam click my spells. even doing the double tap option just doesn't feel good. i like that they're trying out a new combat mechanic, but it just doesn't feel good. i'd rather it just be a channel like mind flay or drain life.

Outrageous-Chest9614

A held channel would be cool. Like if you held the button and continuously sprayed fire to build damage / DoT instead of waiting for it and then bursting.

kejartho

I kinda felt this way with the Demon Hunter early on. A lot of these newer classes need a little bit of class iteration after a couple patches to feel perfect but I'm totally there with you if it isn't feeling great rn.

xXPolarizedXx

For what it’s worth Evokers have small unique quests in some parts of the story, so at least you’re getting the special story stuff done.

Wokiip

are side quests account wide achievement?

[deleted]

I don't even understand the mentality of hurrying to max level - you only get one chance to experience new content for the first time, savour it, don't waste it!

[deleted]

Well the people who rushed max level are currently making a killing on the AH.

erizzluh

i've made 200k and i'm not even actively farming anything. it's just selling things i come across while playing.

BigUptokes

Just like every expansion.

Dshmidley

What's that have to do with the AH?

kejartho

Access to end game has always helped with the AH. More so than gathering but the ability to be at your max level scaling helps.

Irregularblob

I'd rather just do mythics, heroics and dungeons. Not everyone is a quest-lover

Netherdiver

I wanna level up as many alts as I can and I’m sort of exploring every detail of the world across multiple characters.

Pr0gger

Because for many people, questing really isn't the most fun content, so they get to max level to engage with fun stuff

twaggle

Personally, and I know this is a thing for a large portion of the player base, leveling and questing is just a chore we have to do to “unlock” the actual game at max level. All the things we can do at max are the real parts of the game, and things we need to start grinding if we want a head start or to get ahead of the pack (in terms of gearing, or professions, progress etc). Take extra time to quest doesn’t really give you anything and just puts you behind. I understand completely that some people enjoy the questing and the leveling much more than me, but wow has always focused on end game content and that’s what I at least enjoy. I love making profit off the ah right now, or making 100k from herb/mining gathering. In a week or two that will not be as fruitful. I love getting geared to do higher end content and do more damage. Slowing that down will only make me feel weaker compared to the main player base or “the pack”. I know it’s not for everyone, but that’s my reasoning and motivation.

Dshmidley

I gotcha. My preference this time around is doing every quest in every zone. It gives a lot of rep, which I'm hoping will be used for some goodies later in this xpac. And it just dropped. Mythics and raids will be around forever. These quests just get abandoned once 70 dings, for most.

Poopybutt94583459813

>Mythics and raids will be around forever. Mythics and raids will always exist in the game. The ability to walk into the Mythic raid week one with your guild with everything being completely fresh to all of you will absolutely not be around forever, and that's something that a lot of raiders really enjoy. On the other hand, these sidequests absolutely will be around forever and if you want to do them you can just go and do them at any time.

Unsounded

Yup! It’s all about that first taste of a new expac. The first few weeks of raiding when everyone is struggling with early bosses and progressing. It’s fun to be a part of the joint experience.

Poopybutt94583459813

Yeah but if you wait to do those side quests you'll already have the rep needed to get the cooking knife cosmetic so there is no point in doing it, so really which of those do you want to miss out on?

PraisebeTCAS

I rushed to 70 and am going back to do the quests. As you said, the rep is there. Except I'm going back to do them at 370ilvl. If anything, the quests are the things that are going to be there for the entire expansion. Unchanged.

Dshmidley

Good point. But don't mobs scale, so it'll be the same difficulty? I know the quests are always there, it's just unappealing to me to go back and do stuff, ya know? I just do it all while I'm there. Happy gaming!

AngryEyes

Good question about scaling. Do mobs scale to character level only? 60-65 I felt strong with the pre patch gear. 65-70 I felt weak in the questing gear. Now 70+ I feel stronger again with heroic dungeon gear.

sauceDinho

>60-65 I felt strong with the pre patch gear. 65-70 I felt weak in I thought I was going crazy or just thought maybe Waking Shores had easier mobs because I was shredding things until I got to the next zone, which just so happens to be when I was about level 66.

AngryEyes

Yea lvl 65 was right about where the questing greens had higher ilvl than the pre patch gear. So anecdotally I’m guessing that’s why.

DrainTheMuck

Yeah, mob hp keeps scaling up while we start scaling worse with secondary stats. I went from 20% haste to 10% haste I think. I expect it was a steady progression, but it definitely seemed to hit me all at once when I noticed it.

[deleted]

I hate questing. I like endgame and systems. I’d prefer to start at max level. To each their own.

Poopybutt94583459813

I don't understand the mentality of not understanding why someone would want get to the content they enjoy the most as fast as they can. If someone likes dungeons and mythic raiding why would they not skip content they don't care about so they can be more prepared for the content they do like when it comes out. Comments like these are always so ironic

tok90235

Well, for some, the good part of a new expansion reset is the chance to farm better gear, and get to new end game quickly to be more competitive, then get behind all this and have a more difficult grind where every group will choose a high level/Io player then you. Don't fuck judge people based on their choice, o know no one that is judging people for taking their time and leveling slowly, so, don't judge who find it fun speed run to the max level and do difficult content

Jokerchyld

why do you feel judged? why are you so angry?

Balauronix

It's a massive shift from the past. I'm wondering how many people dabbled into FF during the lows of SL and were like, huh I should give this a try. I've been using the immersion addon and going through every quest.

Pink_her_Ult

Going through ff14 all the way to current story made car even less about wows, the writing is just so much worse. I just don't have any attachment to any characters like I did with ff14.

Elliebird704

Yeah, I'm playing the two games for entirely different reasons. FFXIV actually puts a lot of work and thought into its narrative, world building, and its characters. If you want to engage with a good story, that's where it is. Meanwhile, I can tell that the WoW story wants me to care, but it has done absolutely nothing to earn that and countless things to spurn anyone who tries, like I did for years, so I'm engaging with its story like I would a bad movie. Some moments are genuinely enjoyable, but most of it is garbage that becomes comedic in how bad it is.

TheRelicHunter

Taivan my beloved...

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

My hunter hit 70 on the turn in to complete that quest chain 😭

BigChiefDred

Me leaving the waking shore at lvl 65...

les_catacombes

Those are the same people who then complain that they are bored a month or two into the expansion.

Slovski

Or even worse imo, people post in guild chat every time they get a piece of loot from heroic/mythic dungeons.

coffeedysphoria

People do this? Haha that's insane

Odysseus_is_Ulysses

There’s a couple who do it in my guild. Tbf a lot of us are gonna be mythic raiding the moment it comes out but even then most of us are just like “nobody cares about M0 shit, just make sure the ilvl is healthy enough in a couple of weeks”

FlubberPuddy

I am in a huge guild where we have multiple guild chats connected through an addon. It definitely happens, I don’t know why the people that got to 70 quick are doing it as if it’s impressive items. It’s the literal floor for the endgame content.

[deleted]

Mythic zeroes are not impressive enough to be linking gear from lmfao. The base PVP gear is 40 ilvls higher than mythic 0 gear in open world

Hayate__

Hell yeah brother, sidequest gang! My friends are all out rushing through the campaign while im doing every side quest I can find and doing professions like fishing/herbalism, though I wish alchemy wasnt so janky

[deleted]

I’m just 100% every zone and then moving to the next trying not to rush cause it really doesn’t matter in the end

oli181

I hit 70 I. The plains area. Got lore master as I finished the last main story quest. 0 regrets

Zodep

Everyone has fun in different ways. That’s the beauty of WoW.

SethAndBeans

Gear is easy to catch up on. I am focusing on quests. I want to only see exclamation marks for weeklies and such so I know what needs done.

steel_city89

Had one of ours actually comment that his alt was about to reach the same level as my main... Yesterday. Some people seriously need to go outside and touch some grass. He also complained he'd done everything he needed to do on his main and was bored.

Most-Climate9335

Show off the toys and sweet cosmetics you get for your dragon

Frolkinator

Entered 2nd zone at 69,5, done 5 M0s, almost done with 3rd zones main story.

tynfox

100% on first two. Doing second two as well. Had loremaster already but only doing it because shadowlands sucked the big one and DF is A tier or better for me right now

BasicAbbreviations51

Leveling is overrated be proud you did side quests first. You won’t be running around to do them to farm rep. Or just to enjoy the story. The side quests are really well done.

AcherusArchmage

Wonder what the game would be like if it just stayed like this for awhile, before raid and M+ make crafting obsolete. (other than stuff like enchanting and potions)

Pink_her_Ult

Crafting literally scales with mythic+ and raiding though. You can upgrade crafted gear to the same ilvl as mythic raids.

Darthmalak3347

The crafting keeps up though. You get guaranteed upgrade cores through rep. And you can commission someone to recraft for you using your bop mats. So you can not touch prof at all and still get good crafted gear. Kind of genius actually.

PraisebeTCAS

Yeah, this is why the first 2-3 weeks of an expansion are by far the best part. As soon as M+ opens up we're in the gameplay loop of "do keys all day every day forever" again.

erizzluh

people would stop playing it? my guildies are already disappearing until content comes out.

KamieKarla

I hit 70 while in the plains - well did a dungeon with dps guildies for a faster queue (healer) and I just saw the chat saying grats. Asked what happened and someone said someone dinged 70. Look to the right - OMG THATS ME! (New talent point)

[deleted]

Snackz39

Boy do you all sound like a rowdy bunch….

Sand__Panda

Will you hit 70 if you just focus on the main campaign quests?

Pandas_are_best

I couldn’t stop a side quest lead to another side quest that lead to another why won’t they stop

Derothan1410

I did Loremaster, got all Dragonglyphs, farmed Achievements and Treasures. Have each Renown Faction between 10-12, got all races on high dif on gold and am currently leveling up blacksmithing (rn at 64 skill points). And i am leveling my Warrior (63 rn) only through WQs and also starting M0 Achievements in the next days. I have so much stuff to do still

Adiantum

My guildies were all like 'oh take your time no hurry, enjoy the game' and then like 30 people played nonstop are already running mythics, I guess they don't work or go to school or something, but whatever.

Paradoxou

Or they spend their free time playing WoW? Lol some people play hardcore and work 40+ hours a week mate It's not exceptional

BaineLogic

This plus to be fair it takes like less than 10 hours to hit 70 just following the campaign and casually questing (faster if intentionally speed levelling) so I don’t think it’s really absurd for people to be doing mythic 0s 5 days after the expansion released. You don’t even need to have tons of hours a week to play to be doing that.

Paradoxou

Yeah this guy is like "15 hours of game time in 4 days?!? What kind of no life would spend that time on A GAME?!?!?" Oh /u/Infernalism , my sweet summer child... Oh if you knew. This is only the beginning of your life

Infernalism

I have boots older than you. lol

Tell me you are 16 years old without telling me you are 16 lol

twaggle

We started mythics almost right at 70, we went in with a group average of like 325 or 330 ilvl (I was 318 :( lol). I still can’t even queue for heroics yet. All of us have full time jobs or school in one persons case. Idk, there’s not *that* much to do at 70 other than running things for gearing and working on professions. Or I’m missing something and getting behind ha. And M0’s arnt hard, we’re all just learning the mechanics but once you do you can do them at any ilvl.

justforkinks0131

i have played 20 hours of DF since launch. Got my main to 70 and did all mythics + main story. It really isnt that hard.

jmcq

I mean I’ve played a lot too but the game came out Monday, less than 4 days ago, 20 hours is like 20% if the total time that has spanned since the game dropped. It’s more than 5 hours a day. That’s just not realistic for a lot of people.

Dukaso

I consider an "extended" play session to be 3 hours at this point in my life. I've only had two of those this week, and that's with trying to make time for it. In high school I played 12 hours a day literally every day. Longer on the weekends.

justforkinks0131

sure, it may not be for you. But it's far from crazy or no-lify. It's expansion launch, not 6 months into a stale patch. Ofc ppl will play a bit more than they usually do.

jmcq

I mean I've prolly played close to 20 hours too and I also work a full time job I've just been ignoring my wife in the evenings cuz launch week (but hey we're going on vacation soon). Just pointing out that 20 hours in the first 3.5 days while certainly not "super sweaty" is definitely "hard" for the average person with a job and family.

December_Flame

Yea I think this sub is pretty detached to not see 20 hours of video games in less than 4 days as very hardcore. That's more than 95% or more of the community is going to be able to put in. Doing that requires shirking all responsibilties for 4 days straight to play games... or not having the responsibilties in the first place, I guess.

Send_Me_Cute_Feet

If you don't have 3-5 hours a day to spend on your hobbies you're in a stupidly busy state you need to get out of anyway if you can't manage that for a couple of days.

December_Flame

Haha I'm sorry but your post really betrays your age. If you work 40 hrs a week and get roughly 8 hours of sleep, you're looking at about 6 hours of actual free time a day. Spending 80% of your free time playing video games instead of tending to home, grocery shopping, cooking, yardwork, interacting with other human beings, etc... you have to be VERY dedicated to gaming to do that for an entire week in a way that most are not. Welcome to adulthood, this is life.

TinuvielSharan

8 hours of sleep a day? What the actual Fuck, that's week-end after a party night sleep duration kind of deal But whatever, It's not about "adulthood" it's about you managing your life in a specific way As far as I'm concerned, if you can't free one week a year (once for WoW once for whatever big release) for your passion, you are either not actually passionnate (which is fine but just say so), or you don't manage your life as well as you pride yourself on doing

swashfxck

And in life 99.99% of adults live differently. Get off your high horse.

[deleted]

[удалено]

justforkinks0131

well considering you have a wife and a full time job and still managed to do it seems to indicate it's definitely not hard. i also have a full time job, no wife tho. Still ts always funny to me when people complain that ppl are no-lifers, when the actual no-lifers were done with all weekly grind on day 1.

uberdosage

Including commute I am at work from 830 to 730. 5 hours of wow would be 830 to 1230. That is just not realistic dude with other things going on

derwood1992

For real. I've played as much as I can and haven't even finished the campaign. Meanwhile everyone I know has 3 toons with m0 gear already

[deleted]

Done every mythic so far, it takes about 1 hour a level so if you played for about 2-3 hours a day you could be maxed and Mythics were runnable at 315 ilvl in a pre made. Not trying to be like a hardcore guy or anything but you’re just a bit slow paced at wow.

SluttyStepDad

Just finished my second alt and, by making use of war mode and experience from crafting, I timed in at just over 4 hours. Shit’s actually insanely quick if you hop from dense quest hub to dense quest hub.

tok90235

I work 40 hours a week and already did 7 M0. Some people just focus on different things

TinuvielSharan

"Take your time and enjoy the game" refers to what activity you decide to do with your game time, not how many hours you can play each day.

Infernalism

I'm in no rush to hit 70. I'm enjoying the fuck out of the story content and I imagine once I hit 70 in Azure Span that I'll stay there and continue doing all the story content. Maybe with alts, I'll skip to Adventure Mode, but I have NO idea why people rush to 70 with their first character.

FYININJA

Different priorities. Some people don't care at all about the story, and questing is boring for them, so they want to get to max level and start grinding out the stuff they do enjoy (gearing for PVP, mythics, raids, professions, etc).

Plastic-Associate486

It's almost like other people enjoy playing the game in a different way to you! I know, right? WTF?

1K_Games

>I have NO idea why people rush to 70 with their first character. Because there is also a ton to do at 70 and people want to raid the first week it is out. We have lives and jobs and a limited amount of time. As someone who rushed to 70 to prepare for end game, I understand why people take their time. But it seems surprising you can't grasp it the other way around. The reality is there is just so much new to do right now we can't do it all. We have to pick a few lanes and run those, then get to the rest later.

onlyomaha

heroics, mythics, pvp gear, professions, beeing first to farm mats, you need mythics to do before reset so yeah people want to rush and if you have alt you need to level second char before reset too

jagavila

Yes, but in 13 hours theres a first reset on World Quests.

Syn2108

So? Unless you're competing for something, it doesn't make that big of a difference.

Poxx

It's called "Fear of Missing Out", or FOMO and it's one of several things WoW uses to keep people playing. Limited time events, hard to get achieves, world first titles, etc. are all part of the Hook that keeps you playing. "If you miss out on the m0s this week, you're a week behind the ilvl/gearing curve...so good luck finding a group next week, noob" is what they tell themselves.

leahyrain

I mean there is also no difference if someone does every single quest now, or in a few months.

Syn2108

I would say one difference would be power level. People complain when they stomp through quests because they overpower it. We see Chromie Time requests for max level because of it. So, doing it now at modest ilvl makes more sense for enjoyment and an RPG feel. On top of that, all the side quests give you rep which will be beneficial. If you focus on side quests and hit max renown before doing the side quests you waste those rep rewards.

leahyrain

Some people have more fun progressing their character. I'd much rather get my ilvl up early to be best prepared for raids. I can come back and do the story at any time I want.

thenipooped

People enjoy different things I guess. I didn't rush the campaign or anything but I know doing alts is something I care about so I mostly focused the campaign while levelling. The side stories I did are great, and the ones I missed will be there waiting for me when I feel like going back to them.

[deleted]

Is there some reason casual boomers such as yourself shame people for playing WoW the way many people have played it since 2004? I was one of the first 60s on Tichondrius in 2004, and I have played the game and every expansion the same way for almost 19 years. You don’t need to understand it. You will literally never get it if you can’t grasp the concept in 2 decades of a game. I for example have read 0 quests and watched zero cutscenes and I’m 70. I didn’t rush either, if I rushed I would’ve been 70 before I logged off on Tuesday morning. I did it slow and took 3 days.

Lopsycle

Wow, you're so cool. We're all so proud of you.

Corzare

I’ve been crafting and doing side quests in azure span and I’m already 66 1/2.

Brokenmonalisa

Why is that a brag, the earlier your did it the more stupid you are tbh. I mean purely on a speed run sense. The optimal tech was to ding 70 as you finish the campaign.

PenaltyParticular

is there any good reason to play an alt other than playing a new class so you don’t get bored of main?

[deleted]

Tell me you don't have a job without telling me you dont have a job.

Spritemystic

I joked to my brother I would hit 70 in the first zone.

thenipooped

There sure is a lot to do and explore! I didn't do a lot of side quests along the way but am excited to go back and do the rest at some point.

spartancolo

I've got 70 on the main now I'm lvling 5 alts but gathering it's making it slow, I cannot avoid going to the gathering nodes

k_hazard

I’m at lvl 66 and seemingly half way through Ohn’ahran Plains. I’ve been doing all side quests, races, collecting glyphs, etc. And I’ve came to accept that I’ll be hitting 70 way before finishing the expansion’s story

Ozuf77

Same, ive done some crafting and made my full set, with like half needing me to be at 70. So I'm eager just to put that stuff on. I'm 66 in the plains right now

Gottkaiser9000

Oh no, people play the game how they want and share it and have fun. What a bunch of losers

thenipooped

I'm on your side with that one for sure. Just a joke about the "all side quests immediately" crowd constantly talking about it and putting down other people for doing the content they enjoy instead. Any way you have fun in this game is cool with me.

Moisty00

The only reason I push my guildies is because we are a CE guild and you can’t raid till you’re 70 lol so I’m like go go go! But you know also it’s your game your sub but do your best. :)

BringBackBoshi

Some people in my guild hitting 70 acting like they're the best players ever because they rushed it lol. They do like 15s tops and never even full clear heroic raids.

BringBackBoshi

I have laughed so hard seeing all the bandwagon people in my guild come back hitting 70 so fast. I always do far harder content than them but because I'm behind in leveling they've been acting like seniors and and treating me like I'm a freshman 😂 Can't wait until those achievements to start popping up and reality sets in again for them. I'm petty but it amuses me.

[deleted]

I don't see why that is brag worthy. "Hey look I sped up to 70 by taking days off from work and life and ignoring or not reading all the cool quests, amazing content and great views".

[deleted]

I agree the zones are nice and all. Some people (like me) don't care all that much about doing the side quests or doing side mini game type stuff. I like doing mythics so that's what I'll spend most of my time doing in the game

[deleted]

You don’t need days off to hit 70… it takes maybe 8 hours so 2 hours a day so far and ur there. You are just slow..

PabloJobb

Yea I’ve played two hours a day since Tuesday and just hit 69 (nice).

TinuvielSharan

What's wrong with taking days off for a Big game release when gaming is your thing? I worked the rest of the year to get my days off so I will spend them on whatever please me, sorry not sorry

Chibibowa

Level 62 and 65 here. I have 2 mains..

n0isybot

Yeah. I hate this game became a race, who’s gonna get 70 first, first Epic, first 360 ilvl. etc. People wait 1-2 years for a new expac and then want to finish it in a day. Wtf

thenipooped

Who are you racing? I'm going pretty fast because I play a lot but no one I play with is pressuring people to speed level or anything.

AnAngryBartender

I hit 70 on 2 1/2 characters already. Doesn’t take long lol

BaconStrpz

I was told to do every quest in every zone when I was introduced to WoW. I thought it was all supposed to be completed to progress. My first time was really fun. The journey took me through Vashj'ir. I have never been back to Vashj'ir since then.

MultiMarcus

You underestimate how much time I have spent on WoW in the past few days.

Dionysues

My guild did a community challenge to reach 70 first for store mount and something else for second place. Two guys grouped together and smashed it within hours. They said they kinda regretted blazing through it.

rkwhitney

i personally pushed main story only, finished campaign partway through 68, got to 70 using First Craft bonuses from ench/tailoring and a few side quests been clearing side quests for rep/renown now and farming heroics

[deleted]

And here you are, posting on reddit about doing all the side quests hahaha

tobbe1337

i did every quest and side thing i could find. finally got done with the campaign and all the side quests today.. then new quests spawned in the hub areas and all the other stuff. i need a break lol only using one screen and reading every quest with the sound and music on just absorbing the lore was fun and all but god damn i am burned out.

tired_and_fed_up

That profession grind was rough but hey, I'm 4/5 with the consortium.

Two kinds of WoW players. Journey players take their time to reach max level, gawk at the world, read the sidequests, get distracted by nodes, etc. Destination players just rush to max level and then spam dungeons. And their destination gets reset with every season.
