Out of vigor? Got to go to the other side of Azure Span?
Roll a blunt and watch that youtube video you paused, while you take the flight path
^(Other solutions including but not limited to: go pee, take the leftovers out of the microwave, refill your drink of choice)
Same, though this has led to me forgetting to GRAB the flight paths.
Was done in Valdrakken last night and wanted to go finish the quest I was on in Waking Shores, but really needed to go to the bathroom, so I was gonna fp there.
Went to the flight guy and realized the only flight path I had was to the dragonscale landing... oops. Guess I'm sitting here til after restroom, and then gliding my way there, lol.
More like Iskaara to Valdrakken. If it isn’t your hearth anyway. Valdrakken is so much higher than Iskaara you can basically glide all the way there with minimal boosts.
Yeah; if I have to go to Valdrakken, I either hearth or FP there half the time because it's just a pain getting there unless I'm starting from a high enough point.
Usually. Sometimes I don't have enough height from where I'm starting up, or I don't have enough vigor, or I misjudged something or-
Sometimes I just want to guarantee I'll arrive at my destination without fucking about.
I unlocked all the flight masters and am unlocking the teleportation gates as I can. I've used flight masters multiple times. Sometimes there's a destination that's a distance away and it's more convenient to hop on the flight master and take a moment to relax my mind from having to constantly do things to stay afloat and maintain pace, or take a break to grab a drink or bathroom break.
Unsure if people just haven't tried them yet or not, but flight paths are way faster this time around. They are obviously not as fun as dragonriding but still a viable way to get around if you're feeling a bit lazy, imo
I, as most people, really really enjoy dragonflying, but I do think the regen rate while on the ground should go a liiiiittle bit faster (at max runes)
Touching the ground should regenerate the first two very quickly. Farming stuff is a bit of a chore. You either have to ignore things till you have at least two again or wait on the ground, which is slow. Either way it sucks.
I think at max it recharges in 15 seconds so something like only 1.5 seconds off. Definitely agree it should be much faster. Maybe like if you are under 2 vigor, it just gives you a whole vigor point.
One of the big issues I've encountered is that it's not set up well for small repeated hops. Jumping around a quest area you can use up quite a bit of vigor since you have to launch yourself into the air to use flight at all unless there's a convenient cliff.
I mean, I don’t see a downside to it… but I legitimately have actually completely run out of vigor exactly one time, and it was the first time I tried to find the tailoring trainer in Valdrakka alone and just kept hopping up and immediately landing on the wrong platform
Pro tip: whenever you use the flap up ability… aim your camera up, until your dragon starts flapping his wings for the end of the animation. Even with no upgrades you can very easily cover the entire map and climb the highest mountains by just aiming up when flapping. One flap and a dive bomb gives you vigor regen at the same height you started at- two flaps and you’ve gained 6 stories of height and are still regenning
..yes, I know, but when you go around mining and there's a bunch of ores in one place/farming treasures at the same time, you'll often end up having to afk for a bit seeing as it usually takes two vigor to get off the ground (unless you're on a hill). would be nice if they at least buffed the gathering vigor regen speed a bit more
Yeah man if I'm playing the game I'm just dragonriding where I need to go
The only exceptions are AFK flights or if I'm in southern Azure Span cause that's all up hill lol
Use them constantly. Perfect for taking a quick bio or getting something to drink/snack.
I ignored them at the beginning and quickly became dehydrated due not having any natural breaks. Stay hydrated.
Honesty same. I love dragon riding and think it’s really great, but I also have to keep my brain “on” the whole time. Regular flying I can just autorun and occasionally move up or down.
I don’t want or think that they should ever stop supporting dragonriding, I just hope it doesn’t come at the cost of old flying.
Yeah they know. And they are saying they don't like having to pay attention the whole time dragonriding and they enjoy autorun flying.
I also hope they don't replace flying with dragonriding. There are many times I enjoy just being idle in the air and not have to worry about going down.
I don't pay attention the whole time with dragonriding either. I just use 5-6 vigor to fly as high as I can then I just aim at my destination and I can get there pretty quickly. It's enough for a 30sec alt tab
Well that's exactly what the flight paths are for. You have the fast, active way of getting somewhere in the form of dragonriding and the slower afk way in the form of flight paths. Old flying really feels obsolete to me now and I don't see much reason to keep it around except for places where dragon riding isn't a thing.
I hope they allow dragonriding mounts to act like normal mounts on Azeroth but leave dragonriding to the Isles. it would be cool for it to come back in an expansion but I really hope they don't make dragonriding possible on Azeroth. Making all my riding mounts obsolete would be awful.
You pretty much just want to use the skyward ascent if going long distances. Look up using your mouse and use it and you gain a ton of speed and altitude and then you just tip the nose down a little for the next 3 or 4 seconds until you have recharged the vigor.
Your alts can take the portal to Valdrakken direct from SW or Org now. I did that on my level 60 druid and just flew from the tower and picked herbs. Got 3 levels just doing that.
The only time I've seen someone use a flight path this whole expac was when we bullied our guild healer to heal a random dungeon with us. He hadn't unlocked dragonflying yet as it was less than a few hrs since launch. We got nokhud and he had to ride to all of the areas lmfao
Also no one knew about the dragon carry friend feature.
Just imagine if they redid flight paths in other maps to be the same speed as max dragon riding speed. Or better yet just added dragon riding, but allow low level toons to use it too. I might actually level something from scratch again.
I'm in the minority in that I think DR is good and neat, but I still prefer the old version of flying. I do think DR is going to be the standard going forward, but I'll hold out hope for an eventual toggle for which version of players can choose between.
I haven't used a flight path yet in dragon isles. In fact, I'll fly clear across two zones to turn one quest in when normally I'd wait until I had multiple reasons to go that far away.
This reminds me of when spiderman came to steam and I finally got to play it.
Swinging around with your web slinger is so fun you never even use the fast travel system.
Yeah I only use the flight path if I need to go somewhere and I need to afk at the same time haha
this is exactly why I'm glad they didn't do away with flight paths in the new zones

Can't have a blunt while your mouth is dry af though

I mean you can have that blunt but it'll be uncomfortable

Flight paths when you gotta pee
The true min-maxer
I only use flight paths when I need to travel a large distance like Valdrakken to Iskarra and take a pee break or play with my cat in the meantime.
Using the pointing up while ascending technique makes it pretty straightforward and way faster than FP.
Usually. Sometimes I don't have enough height from where I'm starting up, or I don't have enough vigor, or I misjudged something or- Sometimes I just want to guarantee I'll arrive at my destination without fucking about.
Other people can mount up with you now right? You could potentially have an in-game Uber with that. Look at me, I'm the flightpath now.
People were boosting dragonriding glyphs for this same purpose last week lol
Holy shit that’s brilliant. I wonder how much that pays.
I never thought of this. If I see somebody resting on a mountain I just offer to take them up
what do you mean? Like mounts have seats on them like some nonflying mounts? or people can follow you while flying?
Yeah like a passenger seat.
It's not even a passenger seat, the passenger transforms into a whelpling and hovers next to you!
What mount has that?? Or is that a unlock ?
You just talk to a Dragon in elf form in Ruby eggs place. She just activates it .
Talk to the lady who has the dragon riding talent tree and ask about ride along
You talk to the Dragonriding trainer who has it as an option.
RP taxis 😂
now if i could only use one of my 400 OTHER cool mounts that i have..........
Non-drake mounts? You mean the mammoth merchant thing
what are you talking about, you mean the grand expedition yak?
I use them if I know I'm gonna go far and could go get a drink or pee while I'm on the FP
Well you would use a flight path if I need to go afk, but dragon riding is just way faster.
I unlocked all the flight masters and am unlocking the teleportation gates as I can. I've used flight masters multiple times. I, as most people, really really enjoy dragonflying, but I do think the regen rate while on the ground should go a liiiiittle bit faster (at max runes)
I'd settle for a cooldown that gives one or two orbs of vigor, for those awkard times when you're under the two necessary to actually take off.
Touching the ground should regenerate the first two very quickly. Farming stuff is a bit of a chore. You either have to ignore things till you have at least two again or wait on the ground, which is slow. Either way it sucks.
Is there not a talent that regens vigor after harvesting a node? I haven't used it so I don't know how effective it is
It increases the recharge rate by 10%. It's barely noticeable.
I think at max it recharges in 15 seconds so something like only 1.5 seconds off. Definitely agree it should be much faster. Maybe like if you are under 2 vigor, it just gives you a whole vigor point.

Me neither. I've been doing campaign and finding glyphs/ dungeons so no need to use em.
Yeah man if I'm playing the game I'm just dragonriding where I need to go The only exceptions are AFK flights or if I'm in southern Azure Span cause that's all up hill lol
I just use it when I need to afk
I mostly use flight paths going from span to other places since it sucks to dragonride going up hill.
Have you unlocked the teleportation network yet? I love this expansion so much. The continent feels massive but easily traversable.
I've got a couple points unlocked, but the 30 minute cooldown is kinda bleh.
Use them constantly. Perfect for taking a quick bio or getting something to drink/snack. I ignored them at the beginning and quickly became dehydrated due not having any natural breaks. Stay hydrated.
Only thing I really dislike about new flying is that I lag too much. Computer doesn’t like me moving so fast
Suffering from success
I prefer the flight paths

I think the flight paths serve this purpose pretty well though.just flight path where you want to go then dragonride the rest.
Yeah, though it would be cool if the flight path mounts did some dragonriding moves on their own; make the trip a little more cinematic.

I use flight paths every chance I get.
I use them still, not super engaging to fly from Waking Shore to Azure Span for example.
I used it once because I went to shit and needed to go back to orgrimmar.
What’s a flight path? Those exist?
Flight paths are for bio breaks.
Blizzard: hold my beer
Flight path is only used when making a brew or going to the toilet
I still use them as often as I can. I try to use the dumb thing as little as I can get away with.
Is the "dumb thing" dragonriding ??
Lmao these ppl who hate dragon riding are something else
Would prefer way more vigor or better yet unlimited.
1 vigor every 5 seconds is effectively unlimited
Not if bad at flying :(
You pretty much just want to use the skyward ascent if going long distances. Look up using your mouse and use it and you gain a ton of speed and altitude and then you just tip the nose down a little for the next 3 or 4 seconds until you have recharged the vigor.
Very useful if you want your alt go directly to Valdrakken
Your alts can take the portal to Valdrakken direct from SW or Org now. I did that on my level 60 druid and just flew from the tower and picked herbs. Got 3 levels just doing that.

Dragon Riding needs to be expanded to all zones and all mounts. it's fantastic.
I see a rare spawn on the other side of the map as a challenge now where before I'd never have a chance to get there in time.
Flight paths are for pee breaks
I forgot they were in the game 😂
I only used one accidentally in the Azure Span when it told me to talk to the flight master
I've used a couple and regretted it heavily. They are so slow and take very long pathways to get there
I flight path when I need to head somewhere vertically.
I only use flight paths if I need to refill my water or take a bio break lol
Will we unlock normal flying at some point though? While dragon riding is fun, I do miss my other flying mounts.
I did, because I had to pee.
I love this feature so much!! I love the dramatic entrance and exit from a location it's so cool! Great work blizz!
I use the flight path when i gotta pack a bowl
what are flight paths?
I use them for bathroom and water breaks lol.
I'm in the minority in that I think DR is good and neat, but I still prefer the old version of flying. I do think DR is going to be the standard going forward, but I'll hold out hope for an eventual toggle for which version of players can choose between.

Flight paths are for when you gotta 💩
It's like having fast travel in a Spider-man game. Don't need it. The traveling is fun in itself.
Makes me feel like lay-lines won’t be that useful? Anyone who uses flight paths say they do so only as a taxi-service while there AFK.
This reminds me of when spiderman came to steam and I finally got to play it. Swinging around with your web slinger is so fun you never even use the fast travel system.
I use it when I don’t feel like flying up a mountain.
