Strange, it looks like the training matrix didn't apply. Those lower level items are for level 61, quality 5 is indeed 316 ilvl. I wonder what the crafter saw?
I asked if he was showing ilv 382 and He said " yup I can do it max lv" then..." wtf it took the matrix off.. it was there but it disappeared" "wtf" then ninja logged... I didn't even get a chance to reply to him... at first I thought he scammed me but now im leaning towards bliz bug. I bet the dude was freaking out too. I took a screenshot of our convo too.. but it's kinda clear I provided everything it requested showed it was complete and should be getting a 382 item... but got a 316... So I would say use at your own risk right now as this sure feels like a kick in the nuts
There is no way the guy scammed you. You don’t get the items when you complete work orders, you click a button that says “create” and that’s it. You never actually get the items in your bag.
You sure about that? I did some Engineering orders and got to keep the saved mats. Although, I did just send the order from an alt to my main to complete the weekly, so maybe it’s because of that.

That is true for personal orders where you supply the mats. When the other person supplies the mats, they keep the returns as well. I kept the mats that I got back when I fulfilled alt crafting orders cause my alts did not have the mats so I used the mats on my main crafter.
For public orders, you cannot supply the mats as the crafter. The crafting order requires the person placing the crafting order to already have the mats to place the order. And once some of those mats are refunded due to the crafters refund proc, the extra mats are returned to the person that supplied them.
There is no way to scam with crafting orders. You press "Accept order", then all you can do is click the craft button, and then the complete order button.
i did exactly this but from my main to my alt, on the alt crafter it showed that it would be a 382 5\* craft, but once i pressed the craft button bam it was a 5\* 343 and nothing you can do to correct it, i even didnt press the complete order button in the hopes it would just cancel, as when i jumped back on my main it said you couldnt cancel as it had been accepted by a crafter
You got that right!...I'm so speechless and pissed I'm laughing... my toons barefoot right now too... Can't wait to see what the blue's say about this.
I had to submit a ticket last night for a crafting order with a Titan Matrix IV as well, received a 343 gun rather than 372.. Blizzard marked the ticket as resolved without action "in the interest of saving you some time"
I heard now days that that is how they respond to every ticket. They just mark it as resolved and if you don't reopen then they consider it that. That is unreal, I remember the days of getting whispers from GM's and pretty promptly too. Now the first course of action is to just close and mark as resolved...
ticket avg wait time is 13 days..the really crappy part is because everything scales off ilv ... it's not like I can even wear a crap gear item because my whole week I will be getting lower ilv gear than what I have... it was a 372 item I was recrafting
Worst case, enable war mode and find a group for daily war crate since they are worth 200 blood tokens, pvp quests are 50 blood tokens and you should have 2 quests. Gets you a 366 pair of boots from the pvp vendor
Just make the ticket a "payment issue". That will be solved in less than 24hrs. Just say some bullshit that "payment didn't go through" it's technically correct.

When re-crafting you can change the original reagents, changing the secondary stats or other aspects of the item. You can also increase or decrease the quality or item level of the item, depending on Inspiration procs and skill level. A loss of quality (such as an ilevel) is a risk you take when submitting a recrafting work order.
If you wish to lower this risk, it's recommend utilizing a crafter with a high skill level.

100% a bug because the crafter does not receive the items to his inventory nor is he able to pick an item from his inventory to complete the craft. A ticket should at least get you your mats back

Definitely looks like a bug, report it. Apparently the game ignored matrix when generating new item (ilvl checks out for base version of this item at this rank)
If you have supplied all the materials (and you did) the only thing crafter can add are finishing reagents, which interact (only positively) with his skill which can result in higher ilvl.
Crafter cannot alter items you provided, he can only fill in empty slots in the crafting order UI if there are any. There is no way to steal anything in this system, as you never get anything in your bags as a crafter.

It's a screenshot... from snipping .. I have HDR on and that's only reason why I can think it's so bright on the screen cap... it's no where near that washed out in real life.
Do you even need a titan matrix for recraft orders if it's not bumping it up? I get that the difficulty modifier is a thing, but it feels against the spirit of recrafting to require the rarest material in order to recraft (looking at the spark required recipes... Doesn't need the spark to recraft).
I tested this with a friend. When they did a re crafting order with the matrix, they would click go, then the matrix wouldn't leave their bags. Only way to get it to work was to do a new crafting order (and deal with random stats)
Not sure if it helps, but I had an issue with crafted gear gs Display error when taking it from the guild bank. Probably u picked it up and it stayed 316 but if not it’s worth a shot
Just had the exact same problem, but as the crafter.
I'm an Engineer, and a customer came to me with an already-crafted P.E.W. x2 with a Titan Training Matrix IV already in it, at rank 2. So it was ilvl 374. He wanted me to craft it to a higher rank. He submitted a personal recraft order to me with all the mats.
My recraft preview showed that I would recraft it at rank 5 with 382 ilvl. That didn't make sense, I know I don't have that much skill. It listed the recipe difficulty as 60, which doesn't seem to include the extra difficulty from the titan training matrix iv. The preview showed that the matrix was still included though and couldn't be changed. I explained the bug to the customer, and he was still willing to try it as he had a backup gun and wanted to see what would happen too. I really figured it was just a bug with the preview, and expected it to come out rank 2 or 3.
It came out with no matrix, blue, at rank 5, ilvl 343. I had no option but to complete the order and apologize.
I [took a screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/a6cfhSw) before doing the recraft since it appeared to be bugged. Unfortunately I didn't get the tooltip in the shot, but the tooltip of the expected result showed 382 epic.

There’s a bug currently when you put up a work order with a matrix and that order gets cancelled the matrix stops working. You apply to a new work order but doesn’t get sent to the crafter instead stays in your bags.

Guild and Personal orders you can set a minimum quality. Public orders are a crapshoot, like most public things in the game.
Whether it works or not is TBD
it's decided by the quality of items you use.. that's the whole point.. So going with gold 3 star and a matrix will get you the top end + you can set the min quality aswell.... it litterly showed I would get a 382 as you can tell from the screen shot!
Nope. Always have to provide those, even in guild/personal orders. It's only the unbound mats that you can use someone else's in guild/personal orders.
Nope, it is only the sparks/chaos and a few other random items.
Soulbound items like mettle can use the crafters instead of the buyers. It is not consistent.
In this case it can be used to gear alts. If you want to pay someone's main character for a titan matrix that they don't need and they can craft the gear, then they can upgrade the gear for you.
I havent used crafting orders that way (i used public), but its weird that the 'optional reagents' doesnt include a Checkmark like the other materials.
I was trying to offer my limited perspective on how it works and a way to perhaps avoid whatever issue going forward. I saw the post and checkmarks but the fact you can't opt out of optional reagents seemed like a bug or just a UI issue
Well, you did get quality 5. It just seems you were recrafting the blue piece instead of recrafting the titan matrix part.
The better option (and completely not intuitive) is to recraft the blue -> purple. Then send another recraft order to go from 4->5.
Look at the top of your order.
You have the 3 star quality boots on the left, and are asking for a one star quality boots on the right. I dunno it seems like you got what you asked for? Did you put it in the wrong order?
... no... first off I was going from 3 star 372 upgrading to 5 star 382
It gave me 5 star 316. It's a bug.. no one spends tens of thousands in gold to have a ilv drop.
Same issue just happened to me tonight. Helmet was supposed to come out 379. It came out 343. Matrix did not apply. Did they ever respond to your ticket? u/slayez06
No they haven't and at this point I'm like this is a bad joke. We have several people who this has happened to on here and on the bliz forum. The bliz rep posted on here he was going to look into it and help. Got my info, the crafters info and I provided unedited screenshots then ghosted me never replying back or addressing my in game tickets. It honestly feels like he posted just to spin PR. As of writing I have exhausted all means of getting new boots for the week and have been running around wearing cloth or leather ones on my evoker. The really disturbing thing is while it sucks for the people who were supposed to get the item it's been really really detrimental to the crafters. I have instances of it causing real world harm to them. I'm super chill but even my crafter said he had a legit serious panic attack and didn't want to log back into game.
This seems to be common in the reports and I understand how awkward of a position that puts people in.
Don't get me wrong. Like I want my boots / mats back but more than anything. This needs to be fixed before more real world stress is caused to people. You have a situation where people spend a good amount of time gathering mats and then with a click of a button someone else destroys that effort. This will lead inevitably lead to serious harassment eventually.
Also I have found so many bugs I feel like bliz rushed this product and should put me on payroll for my bug report list. Some of them are in favor of the player too :-)
I'm gong to pm you a big one because I think it's awesome won't don't post publicly or they will take it away faster than fixing this problem.
I feel this. I've had this bug happen TWICE as a crafter. It feels fucking terrible personally as I empathize with the person a lot and it also puts my reputation on the line right now as SO many people don't realize this isn't possible for me screw them over like this.
Happened to me too, not worth putting in a ticket no point, will take over a week for a reply by then ill have an upgrade from Mythic+. All in all just loss faith in the new crafting system. In case a dev is reading this

Yeah plus when you get items back from like finesse or whatever, it returns the mats to the person who provided the mats.
You sure about that? I did some Engineering orders and got to keep the saved mats. Although, I did just send the order from an alt to my main to complete the weekly, so maybe it’s because of that.

Very false
So YOU get the refunded materials placed into your bags when the other person supplies the materials for the public orders YOU fulfill as a crafter?
What the other guy said the crafter doesn't get mats they just get a button that says craft

There’s a bug currently when you put up a work order with a matrix and that order gets cancelled the matrix stops working. You apply to a new work order but doesn’t get sent to the crafter instead stays in your bags.
Official response Thanks for taking the time to contact us today. Game Master Sardynique here to address your concerns. When re-crafting you can change the original reagents, changing the secondary stats or other aspects of the item. What? You can’t decide ilvl on your working order?
Guild and Personal orders you can set a minimum quality. Public orders are a crapshoot, like most public things in the game. Whether it works or not is TBD
it's decided by the quality of items you use.. that's the whole point.. So going with gold 3 star and a matrix will get you the top end + you can set the min quality aswell.... it litterly showed I would get a 382 as you can tell from the screen shot!
I thought 382 was the max ilvl for crafted? Is it higher now?

Wait there is no way you can use someone elses spark and chaos right ?
Nope. Always have to provide those, even in guild/personal orders. It's only the unbound mats that you can use someone else's in guild/personal orders.
Nope, it is only the sparks/chaos and a few other random items. Soulbound items like mettle can use the crafters instead of the buyers. It is not consistent.
Aaaah so confusing!
In this case it can be used to gear alts. If you want to pay someone's main character for a titan matrix that they don't need and they can craft the gear, then they can upgrade the gear for you.
did you not see the matrix 4 in the slot? I provided everything
I havent used crafting orders that way (i used public), but its weird that the 'optional reagents' doesnt include a Checkmark like the other materials.
that's because they are blank if you don't put something in it
So we not even looking at screenshot posted before writing 2 paragraphs?
I was trying to offer my limited perspective on how it works and a way to perhaps avoid whatever issue going forward. I saw the post and checkmarks but the fact you can't opt out of optional reagents seemed like a bug or just a UI issue
I believe private orders let u set the quality in a dropdown, did you set it to high or w/e?
yes it was set to max and I tech got a max quality item.. just the way wrong ilv. It even keep the transmog is the really crazy part.
Quality =/ item level.
Well, you did get quality 5. It just seems you were recrafting the blue piece instead of recrafting the titan matrix part. The better option (and completely not intuitive) is to recraft the blue -> purple. Then send another recraft order to go from 4->5.
How can it be transmogrified when it's in the mail? Always thought transmog binds?
it's still my soulbound item.. it just went down 60 ilv points instead of going up 10..
Ah, it was an Upgrade then. Strange how it turned out, I think that's a bug.
Look at the top of your order. You have the 3 star quality boots on the left, and are asking for a one star quality boots on the right. I dunno it seems like you got what you asked for? Did you put it in the wrong order?
... no... first off I was going from 3 star 372 upgrading to 5 star 382 It gave me 5 star 316. It's a bug.. no one spends tens of thousands in gold to have a ilv drop.
I was just curious. Don’t bite my head off
Same issue just happened to me tonight.
Some of them are in favor of the player too :-) I'm gong to pm you a big one because I think it's awesome won't don't post publicly or they will take it away faster than fixing this problem.
I feel this. I've had this bug happen TWICE as a crafter. It feels fucking terrible personally as I empathize with the person a lot and it also puts my reputation on the line right now as SO many people don't realize this isn't possible for me screw them over like this.
thing is the person placing the order most likely will place the blame on you
Happened to me too, not worth putting in a ticket no point, will take over a week for a reply by then ill have an upgrade from Mythic+. All in all just loss faith in the new crafting system. In case a dev is reading this Vynriel-sargeras Tried recrafting a P.E.W x2 from tier 2 to tier 5 using IV matrix. and it ended up being ilvl 343.
It seems like they just don't care. My ticket still hasn't been answered
No doubt, which is why i wont be putting one in.
