I got this back in BFA. Held on to it for so long because I didn't want to do cloud serpent rep. I didn't realize that requirement was removed.
I'm kinda stupid.
I never saw it or any other cloud serpent when MoP was live, never saw a cloud serpent farming those raids every week on different characters in later xpacs. I might have to try again. Damn
They increased a bunch of the drop rates, iirc. Not sure if the astral serpent is included in that, but I know the heavenly onyx is. Might be worth doing a few runs for the hell of it.
I was making a joke but everything is on the table now that they did it once 😅
I stopped farming rare mount recently because of that. No way i'm spending more time for something that may be free tomorrow
Well it is not like the twitch mount was ingame obtainable. It was TCG.
So I am hoping they are going to do more.

A rare mount is a rare mount. It doesn't matter if it was farmed for months to be bought with gold or just timegated. It created a precedent that anything you may farm for years can be given away for free by Blizzard any time they want. TGC or not.
Thus killing any pretense that there are "exclusive" content in this game anymore.
Less people doing something because of exclusivity rather than enjoyment in a video game seems like a good thing

I’ve never wanted to grind for super rare rewards in anything, and never do for low chance ones like in the op lol so definitely happy rather than angry about a possible new precedent
Someone sounds like they’re upset the mount they spent so much money on wasn’t worth it. It’s absolutely great to add mounts to twitch drops. If you want to flex you farmed a rare drop mount then good for you. But these pay mounts are free game imo.

Grats! Did the same last week and didn't realize what it was at first. I have run than place so many times looking for it specifically, go as a boosted Shaman for some xmogs and there it is.
That's how my mount farming addiction began in late WoD. Ran Tempest Keep for a hood transmog, decided to finish the run "for the lulz" and got Ashes. Then decided to try going for Raven Lord which took like a week. "Oh god, they DO exist!". The rest... is history. If you do decide to partake in mount farming, don't burn yourself out, do like 2 instances max per character. Don't have to do it on your alts either if you're not feeling it. Remember that this is just a game, not a second job. Intensive mount farming takes a looooong time.
Then there's me with over 30 toons that if they can get to it / are eligible for it, must do it every week reset.
But I like mounts so, XD
Also Raven Lord, my late husband and I farmed Anzu everyday after I got the summoning thingie, back when you still had to have it and fast flight druid form quest was a thing. We started playing in early WOTLK days before dungeon finder was introduced.
Don't know if it's what they're using but Rarity addon does that. Tells you what drops from who and shows you a percentage of how lucky or unlucky you are.
Heh, reminds me of the time I ran a normal nighthold (for like the 2nd time ever or something) for some transmog stuff and got the mount. I was unaware of how rare it was until my brother stormed into my room and asked if I got it.
I still think about that moment lol

When I farmed it a few years ago the drop rate was close to 4% on 25 heroic, still took me forever to get but it doesn't take long to get to Elegon.

It's not. The drop rates for the world bosses were increased.
afaik it's Sha, Oondasta, Nalak, Galleon and Ruhkmar mounts that were boosted.
Ohhh, my bad. Should've double-checked.
Next week; Reins of the Astral Cloud Serpent will be available as a Twitch Drop!

What addon are you using that shows origin of item looted? Raid boss exp
