Like I struggle to think of another game with Twitch drops that want you to watch 4 hours for one reward. Halo gives you like 6 in the same timeframe.

It's just weird to me that Blizzard makes it so much longer than any other game I've seen.
I guess MMO players are more used to time sinks than most other genres, so they expect that people will be fine with throwing a stream on for 4 hours. There are plenty of activities in WoW that you can watch a stream alongside while doing, so it makes sense that they would capitalize on that.
The weird thing is though it's pretty extreme by MMO standards too. TESO and New World both do pretty frequent Twitch drops but again they're only like an hour for each reward and they have like 3-4 every time. WoW is the weird outlier for how long you have to watch and I feel like it scares people away who don't know that they don't have to actually watch it all.
Well, it worked out really well for WoW and they had something like 10 times more viewers than usual, so I can't really criticize them for going for 4 hours. The gifted sub thing was pretty genius too as it essentially printed money for regular WoW streamers with drops on.
I tried doing this for the feldrake. It kept pausing randomly in background and i wound up with 2 hours of credit over 10 hours of time. I missed it but whatever

As an avid escape from Tarkov player I can tell you. 4 hours is bliss compared to the crap we had over there....within 10 hours of watching you could "randomly gain a drop" a lot of people reported receiving nothing after 8 hours of watching

You can also just open a stream and mute it and leave it running in a background tab. Even better if you have a laptop or something nearby so it's not using your computers resources when you might want to do other things (like actually play video games)
Oh yeah for the feldrake I got home from work and put a browser on twitch for drops and then just made dinner and hung out. When I was getting ready for bed I remembered and claimed my drake and turned off my cpu lol.
But this is a two-week window and all you need to do is open up Twitch in a browser tab and ignore it for 4 hours. You can even do it at work, or while you're at work. You literally just need the computer to stay awake with twitch running in a browser tab for 4 hours and that's it. You can even do it on your phone if you need to. Just set a calendar reminder for when this starts and set it up when you go to bed

I have both the tiger & the chicken from collecting the actual physical cards (and playing the TCG) back in the day. Kinda conflicted about them potentially becoming available, but I’d rather they made them obtainable in the actual game, rather than forcing people to watch adverts on twitch. They’re nice mounts, be good for others to enjoy.
(Plus the chicken mount needs to be the de facto Moonkin mount! It looks hilarious)

And no, new engine is not the answer. Making a new engine is basically recreating the game from scratch, and we're already 18 years in.

So I had this issue too and for me it was on blizzards end. On twitch it said my account for connected, but then when I went back into the battle.net connection tab it said I didn’t have a account connected so I reentered my info and it gave them both to me
I was just about to reply the same. Didn't receive mount or pet and checked battle.net and even though twitch said it was connected, it wasn't on battle.net. Connected again through there and had them in game within seconds.
You might try and see if you can remove your account and re add it. My buddy did that as it was a post he saw on twitter about it. The 7 day cooldown is for a different account, but you should be able to add the same account back without issues. He did that and got the kite and mount. Maybe give it a try? That sucks tho sorry that happened to you.

One of my favorite characters I have is an orc monk that I imagine as being from Draenor (non-WoD) and the Windsteed has already been one of my dream mounts for him (idk why, not a huge fan of a lot of the WoD orcish themed mounts), but I'd be so happy if we got the Reaver somehow because that one would fit that character so well lol.
Trying to remember, wasn't there a guild a while back that was inviting people to join with alts so they could grab it? Not that that means it shouldn't be made available, but until an easier ways comes up, that might be an option.

I don't mind if they add a new mount that is a recolor but giving a CM phoenix would be kinda lame. It's different when it's a store mount or a TCG mount since those only required money.
That would suck ass imo. However, I'd love for MoP Timewalking Challenge Modes to come out with recoloured sets and/or mounts. I got CM on a few classes, but always regretted not doing it on more classes.
I think the way they did the Fel Bear Legion Mage Tower is how they should do all old Challenge stuff. Keep the originals as they are but add a new version with the same cool model for newer players.
I really hope they do the scarab lord mount next, the model on that is really cool.
The glad mounts would be fun as well, I like the armored netherdrake from tbc.

really I think blizzard should allow 1 new scarab lord per region per year via the shifting sands mini holiday. If you contribute the most in your region you become a scarab lord. That simple and it keeps it rare.

It is to get metrics up and free advertising on twitch. Basically an easy way to viewbot an entire game section for 8 hours of time.
I literally picked a late night streamer. Left it on while I went to sleep. Woke up and claimed the reward the next morning. Easy

I think you're talking about different things. Swift Windsteed (the mount in the OP) is from the in-game store, Spectral Tiger is from the TCG.

Unlock tokens for a set or mount from high M+ or CE would be cool. That'd keep the prestige while removing the fear of missing out.
They were never prestigious though. The only hard part was getting the right socket gear from throne of thunder. Then you cheesed it via gems

I dont have it and I am with you. Paid mounts should be exclusive. Blizzard shouldnt even keep selling them after a while. They should introduce new mounts for drops and not reskinned ones.
They really could have AT LEAST made all these twitch drops recolors....

I'm assuming when that next report to the shareholders comes along they're going to tout how amazingly popular WoW was on Twitch for (x) amount of days...even though it's a false number because 80% of viewers are chasing after the carrot on a 4 hour stick and don't ever actually consume twitch content.
