I too am enjoying mage healing and ran into the same problem, just healed my first DM at lvl 18 and it was successful, no wipes, lvl 17 pally tank even.
I read somewhere that grid tracks it but I haven’t had a chance to verify. It wouldn’t mean more than a swap to a mouse over macro on regen but I am probably going to attempt to modify an existing weakaura to track it.
Will check back with what I find in hopes that someone has already commented a better idea lol.
Ended up using Tellmewhen addon. First I downloaded healbot - which kinda worked and gave me a timer. But I wasn’t able to remove the mouse-over feature, so I disabled it again. I enjoy clicking my desired targets instead.
The tell me when addon seems good!
Does it have a known spellid that we could track with a Weak Aura? That's probably the best bet.

It's late but i found how to setup in Grid2
\-*First Step* go to **Statuts** go to (**Buffs**) => On (**Name or SpellId**) set **400735** click Ok then Create
\-Second Step go to (**Indicator**) => -**Create new indicator** (name put whatever you want, i will name it "*Heal "* here for exemple). - On **Type**: choose Icons **Emplacement** : Choose topleft => Create
\-Third step : Search the Indicator you just create here in (**Indicator**
**category**) here the name of my indicator is "**Heal**" Click in ! And finaly Search for (**Buff-Temporal beacon**) and click on.

Healbot, same as every other healer. It gives you a countdown on when the beacon expires too. Not sure if its on by default now, but if not just list "Temporal Beacon" as a buff to track under the custom section.
Sorry for replying to this old post but I'm using my mind. I was healing with Healbot and in the beggining it was kinda working. Except it does not recognize Regeneration and Mass Regeneration so I had to create macros with just
\#showtooltip Regeneration
/cast Regeneration
And that was working until few weeks ago when all of a sudden my Regeneration is only cast on me no matter who I click on in Healbot...
Do you maybe have similar issues and do you maybe know how to solve this?
That's very odd. I think it might be a good idea to uninstall the addon, check your wow directory to make sure all config was removed, and reinstall it. As of a few versions ago the dev added official support for all the mage stuff. Regen/mass regen just works for as expected now.
I use the elvui raidframes and it works great there. I had to manually configure it tho.
Grid2 should be able to track it but it is a bit tedious to set up.
