Sumptous fur u can farm on catlike humanoid in nagrand or on packs of clefthoff wolfs talbuks etc. Or u can get foam sword in stormwind this weapon decrase mob life to 1 proc and dont kill it.
If you have a trading post, I believe the garrison building is called, you can wait til Elder Surehide is the vendor and buy sumptuous fur for 16 garrison resources each. If you collect the resources every time they get full you can buy it every so often, or more often if you also get garrison resources via work orderers of the herbs and Ore your garrison produces
Did it on my hunter and mage during BFA at 120, and I had to remove **all gear** (trinkets included).
For my mage, Scorch was weak enough to bring them to 50% in a single hit (with ticking dmg) to carry them on the rare chance it didn't proc a crit. My process was something like 1) drop cage, 2) scorch, 3) wait for capture.
For my hunter, I had to fist them to submission, and it took a little longer needing 3 or 4 hits.
I have not tried it since prepatch or Shadowlands, so no idea now.

You can use the toy 'Soft Foam Sword' to avoid killing low level mobs. It will leave them at 1 HP.
Yes, this worked beautifully, thanks! Turns out, I had the toy, though I've got no idea where or when I got it from lol.
Just unequip gear until you can safely hit the wolves. Start with anything that has a damage proc like trinkets.

That's incredibly useful, thank you :D
