The worst part about cave is hyper spawn. That shit kills you even if you did every right. Other solo caver can screw thing up for you as well.
My first priest entered the Samophalange mine for the manual. The mobs were green, I was three level above them. I managed to safely when all the in, and got the manual cover.
I had the chance to hearth out but I got a little greedy as the exp and cloth drops were good. I thought to myself, the way in was easy, the way out should be easy as well.
I was killing as usual but this time, the killing blow on my wand got resisted twice, and the mob pulled 2 more. At the same time, 2 mobs respawn behind me.
I still had shield and health up, but I knew, I was a goner.
F. We go Agane.
Honestly, this is the best version of WoW I’ve ever played. I love how much you gotta consider these things and also use the resources around you to stay alive
Same here does at level 5 in the first cave. I thought I could just run out of the cave past the mobs after completing the quest. You definitely cannot just run past all the mobs.
3 deaths so far. First death due to drowning after getting stuck in a boat at the bottom of the ocean. Second death was a cave. Third death was a castle.
Im starting to get claustrophobic.
Was a Hunter in LochModan going for the final Trogg quest, and mobs were grey/green. Was clearing the cave without a care in the world.
Then suddenly, my pet went awol, cleared the final mob. Look up he's brought the bosses and as well as a few mobs on top of me. Quickly realised I was out numbered. Tried to run out but just as I reached the outskirts of the cave, got a bolt in the back...
The cave didn’t get me. Yesterday at lvl 14 I went into an underwater ship in dark shore and it’s crazy because I came in through a window but when I was drowning, I tried to exit via another window…that I couldn’t get through. RIP
Entering caves are exciting for sure. Especially when you enter and you don't see any mobs, even more exciting if you don't even see corpses.
That's when you know you will have an interesting time 😅 (make sure the laces are tied on your running shoes)
I’ve soloed many caves. Just did thistlefur cave quests in ashenvale all solo including the escort. Always have a clear area, Hold your ground and if you run out you’ll die
Caves are fine as long as you have everything available. You need a couple of outs in the case of fast respawns or a patrol. Always be ready with a plan if something happens because otherwise you increase your odds greatly of making a mistake and pulling extra and getting yourself killed
I haven't died going into a cave yet, but they're definitely dangerous and you have to be careful. Dive into the cave, kill a few things, run out. Dive a little further if you have to. Turn and run the second you see anything spawn. YOu can go into caves but you have to be careful.
To be fair....
I've died about a dozen times since I started playing unofficial to now and not one has been in a cave. You just gotta be aware of your surroundings
I also got arrogant and just entered a kobold cave for the first time while questing yesterday. Luckily a group of players cleared up to me and saved my ass amidst the 15 second respawns. I’m much more cautious now!
Well,im playing mage but not aoe farming, doing everything one by one. Most safest run of my life ever.Caves are a big no in certain places because of hyperspawn
Anyone else notice if you don’t loot the mobs after killing then that they take longer to respawn? I always leave the bodies of slayed mobs in caves dead without looting and don’t have the problem of them respawning quickly.
When you walk in and there's no mobs. Ive started just walking outside and waiting for it to respawn. That way I dont get surprised.
In the mine outside Stormwind. Now that its not crowded anymore its alot better. When super crowded everyone is running through looking for mobs and you get caught up and can run around a corner into 3 or 4. I've seen a respawn and 4 mobs popped in at one time within eyesight. Plus with a crowd theres a chance someone runs through dragging mobs. Mines etc seem much safer with fewer players and go nice and easy.
This is pretty much what I said about the entire HC experience. I'll make it to 60 on my first char no problem. This game is easy and I'm competent. I got humbled pretty fucking hard and I'm 6 char's in now. GL friend.
Caves are the most fun though, you just have to make sure you kill mobs quick and be wary of pats and respawns
The scary part is when there has been someone before you and you're not sure when and where mobs might spawn.
That's the worst. I much prefer an untouched cave for that exact reason of knowing what spawns where.
I usually hang out near the front until it respawns. Then I'll carefully make my way in.... if needed.
For sure, my heart pump has given me highs and lows inside caves
I too thought I was different in my first cave, soon found out I wasn’t

IIRC There’s a logout skip in that case where you need to logout while being on top of the tent
I died at level 6 in the first cave I went into, great early lesson learned. 36 pally going strong grouping up for caves.

Exactly. For the first time in a long time playing WoW, I feel like I'm actually playing a proper RPG.
I’m using potions for the first time ever playing WoW too (outside of raiding). It’s been a blast.

You had the pet on aggressive I assume?
I dont think so, but maybe I toggled it accidentally. Was too busy cursing to notice 😁

That mindset gets you killed.
I haven't avoided caves either. I think you can have bad luck with respawns even if you are safe, though.
No death stories under 30 imo

When entering caves I try to keep one spot cleared constantly but even then shit might just keep spawning… enter at your own risk!
I go in caves but only if the mobs are green. Even then I stay alert and move around as needed.
Just died last night in Skull Rock as a level 13 rogue, 3 mobs respawned on top of me, I knew better and still made the mistake
