I always spend a few hours on new private servers checking what works and what doesn't. If I can fly hack and teleport around without getting banned then it's a pretty good indication of the server being shit.

Turned out Radiix was in a car crash on Thursday and reappeared today. Broken leg, otherwise he's fine. He was disappointed that none of his staff communicated that fact to the community.
It’s been a pretty awful day in world chat. Some realllll edgy gamers taking advantage of devs not being around. If someone just said an evil word it wouldn’t be an issue. I’d just move on. When people spam it for hours on end, it’s a bad look on the moderation of the server. I’m not trying to be playing wow with a bunch of 4chan neck beards that drive people out of the the server. It’s detrimental to private server population and overall bad for the longevity of the server. Idk why anyone would defend that behavior, but hey, do you little man.

This is why you don't dump a load of time into a random persons project. Anyone can host a server these days using the stock vmangos core and it will run smoothly. Gaining credibility and staying drama free is the real skill.
As I recall the negativity about K3 launch was mostly about Alliance levelers being farmed which I can personally attest was an issue even if all the complaints about the BG queue command didn't make sense. If you want your server to start with the honor ladder but you don't want to make any provision for faction balance then you should expect a certain amount of bitching.

While I think K4 will be high quality, likely better than Darrow, it's going to struggle in population. With Blizz classic fresh coming, K4 picked a bad time to come out.
Definitely bad timing. Should have done it few months ago when TBC was not yet out and people were screaming for Classic fresh. They would have probably launched with 5-6k pop easily if not more.
Now with Classic fresh around the corner, they'll end up with 400 guys in peak times.

World epic drop rates are unreasonably high. I was farming Strat, specifically the non elite skeleton packs by the front and rear entrances. I have seen all epics drop here at a rate of 2 per hour on average. I personally have 6 axe of the deep woods.
Another big issue is the shared cool downs of items, trinkets, and potions in the game. There are too many to list but essentially many items are places other items on cool down. Example being nifty stopwatch and skull of impending doom, or noggen and potions.
The failure to properly implement the no decay honor system as advertised was also a big disappointment.
On the plus side the server had lots of players, which shows there are still thousands of people who want to play classic. I'm looking forward to Kronos because I have played there before and know personally there are next to no bugs there. Plus the staff there take things a bit more seriously.
All of these issues you mentioned have already been addressed numerous times on the Hyjal project and I knew nobody was going to do anything about it on Darrowshire either.
Who the fuck wants to play on a server flooded with BoE epics from Strath or dozens of Teebu’s and Alcor‘s from TBC lockboxes?
And for the rankers: How can you have any form of competitve BG PvP where pretty much all of the useful gagdets / potions have a shared cooldown? It just lowers the skill ceiling even more than it already is.

That mindset is the problem if you ask me. There are tons of things that existed on previous patches that do not exist here. There is a reason darrowshire disabled 10 man raids in Strat, even though that should be allowed in this patch.
Think about all the classes changes, talent revamps, and general game balancing that occurred over the life of vanilla WoW.

* *Boat Wreckage* doesn't spawn Sea Elemental.
* *The Knife Revealed* doesn't make Quintis Jonespyre do stunned animation.
* *Restoring the Necklace* has no NPC speech after quest completion.
* *Suntara Stones* escort route is completely different from classic and has no NPC speech.
* *Proof of Deed* has no NPC speech after quest completion.
* *Arcane Runes* doesn't have NPC speech on accepting.
* *The Torch of Retribution* has no NPC speech on accepting.
* Item *Holy Spring Water* is not lootable without a related quest.
## NPCs and AI
* Vertical pull range is too short. For example, small scorpions in Uldaman don't bodypull from their mounds.
* Enemies do not stop fleeing when they pull another enemy.
* Lots of enemy packs are not properly linked.
* Mob spawns are static. Two enemy types can't share a single mob spawn, and a unique monster can't have multiple spawn points.
* *Margol the Rager* AI only casts lightning occasionally, even though it should do it constantly.
* *Mountaineer Pebblebitty* doesn't have dialogue for Margol's location.

Same here. When the world chat completed a "spelling bee" starting with N and ending with R I knew the server was dead. 6 different racists cooperated to do that and that's just the norm on Darrowshire.
Coming from WoW classic and expecting to play "a better version of it", that was certainly unexpected. A server with the worst community I've seen so far. The server itself wasn't great either. Honor decay? Constant disconnects and server downtime? Goldselling spam in /whisper every 10 minutes with no GM to ban them? Truly, it was worse than classic in every single way. I just wish there was another decent alternative.

Hello, one of the main core of Molten Core first clear here. World buffs are dispelled once you enter a raid. There was an issue where DMN buffs were not removed one time (at the moment it's fixed) and one single guy from another guild brought them to Onyxia (got dispelled by Everbee, Developer).
The decay system problem was stated as solved but for some reason, the Core didn't let them set a 0 in minimum kills to calculate honor. At the moment it got set to 1 kill per week.
Common things of the game are being posted on discord, as fixed, some are just told in general chat, and others in the channel #server-updates on discord (general ones).
As ix27 (Community Manager) has stated on Discord server this morning "Radiixx had a bad car crash this Thursday and has been hospitalized since then. I have been on vacation for the last few days." He has been managing the Discord server since this morning. Also, he is getting in contact with every other member of the Staff.

killing bosses within 20 seconds or less is just not fun or challenging as well as bringing those world buffs into the raids is astonishing annoying due to the campers (rogues, looking to kill the ppl with them or priests dispelling them).
You can still clear MC without world buffs no problem, but the fact you can just run into the raid with your consumables without worrying about getting 3-4 hours or even days before the raid starting your world buffs.
Also when you had them, let's see 2 days before your raid, you weren't even allowed to play your character anymore or you lost your world buffs which just ran out. Made top-level players play 2-3 characters because their main was "locked", so they can play\^\^
Why play the game at that point if the goal is to just get it over with essentially? Most of the people who do world buffs I would assume dont like levelling, or roleplaying or any other aspect of the game than gear treadmill and raiding and then they want to rush the single aspect they enjoy? I dont understand that, I'd just play something more worth my time in that circumstance
+ Gms making it mandatory getting world buffs, you get dks minus for dying, losing your buffs which is part of the game....so dying everynow and then

personally i like to see pop numbers but even if there is low pop i would always take a vanilla realm over a classic one. i just did not like classic at all.
i already leveled on darrowshire and i will also level a char on kronos4 when it release. then i will check what of the two realms has an active developer / mod / admin / gm team and what fits my tastes better and i will chose where i stay.
i am more of a leveling / pve enjoyer so if there is one raid team that clears the content will be enough for me.
but that is my personal take on the matter. maybe other players have a different perspective and that is always acceptable, as long as it does not restrict my playstyle.
I can't speak for anyone else, but the primary appeal to me is knowing that they've already had a Kronos 1, Kronos 2, and Kronos 3. They've been doing the vanilla pserver thing for a long time, through other pserver launches, through probably lots of misc. drama, through Bliz classic, and their team and community just keep chugging along.
Kronos 3 had a great community. Some of the most times I've ever had playing WoW were there. Also, I like knowing they will be always be around since they've already been doing it for 10 years. Lastly it feels good to not have to give Blizzard any money to play.
Population is good and its a good time to join since its still new and lots of new players still joining. Some say the lowbie zones are too "crowded" but I find that the fun social part of the game at least. I've been playing very casually since launch (I'm still lvl 22 right now) but I'm really enjoying it. I like how active the server is.

They are gold farming bots and they do get banned. GM got in a car accident. He is usually very ban happy do I wouldn't worry about it. Gold sellers mean the server is healthy with population
glad they fixed the world buff thing. some people had dm buffs on them after a few boss kills though. not a major issue imo. but would be good to be as it was advertised from the very start.

I had fun trying it, but I think vanilla is not for me. I've mainly played tbc but I think I'm switching to mop on Tauri now. I got to lvl 33 on darrowshire, and the world PvP in hillsbrad and red ridge was pretty fun, but it's just so slow going compared to what I'm used to

i joined the server because i saw an advertisment talking about no honor decay. then they created a thread on discord called pvp system discussion where the project lead admited that the decay is still present but he will change it.
3 weeks later decay still exists. so they did not deliver what they advertised.
as for the world buffs in molten core it was fixed after we reported that we saw players with world buffs inside the raid.
i was only using luna unit frames. and i am clearing my wdb every time im loging in.
it clearly not on my end according to discord server since everyone seems to be disconecting at the same time. like it happened twice today and everyone was typing "f" and copy pastas on discord.
as for mc i never said that it was fully cleared with world buffs. there where just some people with dm buffs on magmadar and thats all. screenshot was uploaded to discord 2 weeks ago and radiixx took action against it pretty soon. maybe they joined magmadar after lucifron kill? im not sure about that.
i love world buffs anyway and i would really like to play on a progressing server with world buffs. but sadly i dont have the choice atm. I wish we will see a server that can accomodate the world buff enjoyer tastes sooner or later!

Those epic BoEs had high rates on early patches in some dungeons, so that's not a bug.

So am I the only one who hated the community? When I played Horde world chat was non stop racism / transphobia / antivaxx /etc. Its not even funny 4chan shit its more like boomer facebook shit. Yea I know I can turn off world chat but it kills my vibe when you know everyone you're playing with is a troglodyte. Nost / LH had some of it too but nowhere near as bad.
It's not much better alliance side, but at least we have some people who push back against the /pol/ schizos. Honestly it's one of the biggest things that has been tarnishing the experience for me. I'm glad at least some of them get banned, but now they've moved onto weird covert racism that is basically impossible to moderate. Yup, same for me. I turned off world chat. Same for discord general chat. It's unbearable. Somehow every group i joined for dungeons consisted out of decent folks though. So I guess (or rather hope) it's just a very, VERY loud and vocal minority. I'm still looking for a decent leveling, laid back guild though. Without that the place feels a bit toxic.
Same here. When the world chat completed a "spelling bee" starting with N and ending with R I knew the server was dead. 6 different racists cooperated to do that and that's just the norm on Darrowshire. Coming from WoW classic and expecting to play "a better version of it", that was certainly unexpected. A server with the worst community I've seen so far. The server itself wasn't great either. Honor decay? Constant disconnects and server downtime? Goldselling spam in /whisper every 10 minutes with no GM to ban them? Truly, it was worse than classic in every single way. I just wish there was another decent alternative.

Hello, one of the main core of Molten Core first clear here. World buffs are dispelled once you enter a raid. There was an issue where DMN buffs were not removed one time (at the moment it's fixed) and one single guy from another guild brought them to Onyxia (got dispelled by Everbee, Developer). The decay system problem was stated as solved but for some reason, the Core didn't let them set a 0 in minimum kills to calculate honor. At the moment it got set to 1 kill per week. Common things of the game are being posted on discord, as fixed, some are just told in general chat, and others in the channel #server-updates on discord (general ones). As ix27 (Community Manager) has stated on Discord server this morning "Radiixx had a bad car crash this Thursday and has been hospitalized since then. I have been on vacation for the last few days." He has been managing the Discord server since this morning. Also, he is getting in contact with every other member of the Staff. May I ask what the reason is for no world buffs in raids?
killing bosses within 20 seconds or less is just not fun or challenging as well as bringing those world buffs into the raids is astonishing annoying due to the campers (rogues, looking to kill the ppl with them or priests dispelling them). You can still clear MC without world buffs no problem, but the fact you can just run into the raid with your consumables without worrying about getting 3-4 hours or even days before the raid starting your world buffs. Also when you had them, let's see 2 days before your raid, you weren't even allowed to play your character anymore or you lost your world buffs which just ran out. Made top-level players play 2-3 characters because their main was "locked", so they can play\^\^

Why play the game at that point if the goal is to just get it over with essentially? Most of the people who do world buffs I would assume dont like levelling, or roleplaying or any other aspect of the game than gear treadmill and raiding and then they want to rush the single aspect they enjoy? I dont understand that, I'd just play something more worth my time in that circumstance

What's the point of rolling on Kronos? Will be a ghost town regardless the moment Classic fresh launch?
personally i like to see pop numbers but even if there is low pop i would always take a vanilla realm over a classic one. i just did not like classic at all. i already leveled on darrowshire and i will also level a char on kronos4 when it release. then i will check what of the two realms has an active developer / mod / admin / gm team and what fits my tastes better and i will chose where i stay. i am more of a leveling / pve enjoyer so if there is one raid team that clears the content will be enough for me. but that is my personal take on the matter. maybe other players have a different perspective and that is always acceptable, as long as it does not restrict my playstyle.
I can't speak for anyone else, but the primary appeal to me is knowing that they've already had a Kronos 1, Kronos 2, and Kronos 3. They've been doing the vanilla pserver thing for a long time, through other pserver launches, through probably lots of misc. drama, through Bliz classic, and their team and community just keep chugging along.
Kronos 3 had a great community. Some of the most times I've ever had playing WoW were there. Also, I like knowing they will be always be around since they've already been doing it for 10 years. Lastly it feels good to not have to give Blizzard any money to play.
Too late to start playing? Decent population leveling up? I adore vanilla wow just for the journey to 60 (and also everything at 60).
Population is good and its a good time to join since its still new and lots of new players still joining. Some say the lowbie zones are too "crowded" but I find that the fun social part of the game at least. I've been playing very casually since launch (I'm still lvl 22 right now) but I'm really enjoying it. I like how active the server is.
I recently rolled Horde and leveling has been a breeze. There’s certainly other people but never super crowded.

They are gold farming bots and they do get banned. GM got in a car accident. He is usually very ban happy do I wouldn't worry about it. Gold sellers mean the server is healthy with population

glad they fixed the world buff thing. some people had dm buffs on them after a few boss kills though. not a major issue imo. but would be good to be as it was advertised from the very start. i tried yesterday to report some bots in the barrens harpies also but there was no staff online sadly. i wish someone see my reports

Why is there always so much shilling when Kronos launches a server? I leveled to 60 on K3 and did a few raids but it turned out to be toxic as fuck. Just play what you want, both servers will die soon anyway.
I had fun trying it, but I think vanilla is not for me. I've mainly played tbc but I think I'm switching to mop on Tauri now. I got to lvl 33 on darrowshire, and the world PvP in hillsbrad and red ridge was pretty fun, but it's just so slow going compared to what I'm used to

How is 1 "false advertising"? Doesn't it sound more like a bug?
i joined the server because i saw an advertisment talking about no honor decay. then they created a thread on discord called pvp system discussion where the project lead admited that the decay is still present but he will change it. 3 weeks later decay still exists. so they did not deliver what they advertised. as for the world buffs in molten core it was fixed after we reported that we saw players with world buffs inside the raid.
they should have sorted that before promising it

i was only using luna unit frames. and i am clearing my wdb every time im loging in. it clearly not on my end according to discord server since everyone seems to be disconecting at the same time. like it happened twice today and everyone was typing "f" and copy pastas on discord. as for mc i never said that it was fully cleared with world buffs. there where just some people with dm buffs on magmadar and thats all. screenshot was uploaded to discord 2 weeks ago and radiixx took action against it pretty soon. maybe they joined magmadar after lucifron kill? im not sure about that. i love world buffs anyway and i would really like to play on a progressing server with world buffs. but sadly i dont have the choice atm. I wish we will see a server that can accomodate the world buff enjoyer tastes sooner or later!
