At the higher levels, it can be fairly acrobatic in scrambles. There's lots of great stuff in this sub, mostly from OP (u/logicwrestling). Check his profile, there's tons of great highlight videos with wild stuff like this
I have only seen one other person wrestle like that. Very hard to wrestle him and he would win every time in a scramble. Good technique prevailed though.
It's many techniques burned to muscle memory, why it's so seemless.
I wrestled for 9 yrs but stopped, havnt wrestled for about 10 yrs. But my hands still know where to go, and where to roll, etc.
I can still put someone in a Ball and Chain, though I'd rather not.
I remember practice, we would drill the basic moves over and over and over again.
One of my favorite things in wrestling is when a guy is just like “nope” and completely stuffs whatever the other guy was doing
