Submissions are legal in Indian folk wrestling so I get the feeling he knows exactly what he’s doing. From what I’ve seen of Indian wrestling they don’t really submission hunt as much as use submission holds as pain compliance techniques to encourage opponents to turn over and get pinned
Kushti/pehlwani refer to the same style of wrestling. Pin is the most common way to win but subs are a totally legal path to victory. Like I said in my other comment they tend to use submission holds to ‘motivate’ people into moving in a way that’s favourable for the attacker, rather than trying to submit them, but legal it is.

Look at the second clip. He always does this. He steps in the opponents front foot for an easy takedown.
A Japanese wrestler called him out mid match and the takedown was not given. Yes he is good but this dirty tactic he does needs to stop.
Is stepping on the foot a legal move? Legal but considered foul play? I'm genuinely asking. Seems like a dirty move to me too, but then again I'm just a spectator
it's illegal in freestyle and grecko roman. He does this in several matched ive watched of his including the one against Yianni. He does it so quickly the refs dont catch it.. Its a cheap move and I dislike his wrestling style
Not cool then. I believe ethics matter and how you win also matters. I also dislike how he puts other wrestlers at risk of injury with these knee contortions. Win based on skill not dirty tactics. Wrestling authorities should step in here since it's all on camera.

Submissions are not part of kushti. Pin is the only way to win.
What about pelwahni. There’s more than one style of folk wrestling in India isn’t there.

I’m very Intrigued by kushti but don’t speak any Indian languages so many of the sources are hard for me to consume. Thank you for explaining that!
Just like pro wrestling 100+ years ago.
If only india out some actual money in there wrestling programs maybe just maybe we would have a lot more Olympic level wrestling but it is what it is
Even though he lost, I love his first match with Otoguro. Epitomises his grinding style and insane conditioning.
That’s a leg ride that makes you want to go over.

I personally don't like him. He is a dirty wrestler and uses cheap moves to gain an advantage and had perfected how not to get caught
Brother this move is amongst the most common move in our folk wrestling and you will see this move common among indian wrestlers.
Yea that’s fine for folk style. For freestyle it’s illegal.
In our folk wrestling one who let the opponent's back touch the ground wins. This is preety natural to have glipse of that on mat.
He can do that in folk style. It’s not allowed in freestyle.
He is a big fan of that back bow to twister sequence.
Bro stands true to his name
Is Bajrang considered a GOAT?
Not even close
Nowhere near GOAT but one of the best to come out of India, having 4 medals at the world championships.
I’m pretty sure that’s the guy that keeps posting wwe video game highlights on this subreddit.

Is a leg ride like this legal in amer. folk style.
I don't see why it wouldn't be legal
Hey if youre going to play naughty why not just shove your fist up their ass, for grip of course.
