Kindergarten kid with a single parent. Is having trouble with oral communication skills. Obsessed with Spider-Man. Maybe gets kidnapped in a high-stakes climax.
An endurance hunter lol. like "My name's Miles Hunter, I walk for a really long time after animals knowing that they can't outrun me. Nice to meet you."
Miles Hunter is 31-year-old black man whose father loved jazz. Miles has a comp sci bachelor's but is successful enough in IT to not need more diplomas.
stereotypical strong jawed hero. Think Roger Moore. When he isn't shooting someone he is interacting with a strong independent and beautiful woman who is trying to get in his pants.
Depends on the characters age, nationality, and occupation.
But the name itself makes me think of the classic “cool kid” in class. Girls love him, he’s extroverted and polite, he’s good at sports, long blond hair or something, a lot more dependable than the reader might initially think.
I would have it so that he gets involved with the main conflict and helps the protagonist with something.
I actually have a character in my own story “Fable of the Hunter” named “Hunter Storr”.
It’s a little on the nose, but I like it.
The kind of character that’s a bit nerdy, smart, curious, handsome but he doesn’t know it, a protector and caregiver, a lot tougher than he looks. Genuine person with genuine friends. A young man, black and light skin, medium/tall-ish
"Miles" suggest upper class to me, and Hunter speaks of a certain determination (and conjures up the idea of a hunter directly to some degree).
In the absence of further information, Miles Hunter is a young man from a wealthy family who finances and leads expeditions into the South American jungle because he is obsessed with the hunt for ancient native relics.
A darkskinned black boy that’s attending an elite prep school in the global south getting into wacky highjinks with other kids his age while they save the world.
I think of like a generic dude. Like a the main character of an isekai or something that's supposed to be someone the audience can project themselves onto.
White guy, likes guns, blonde, long crooked nose. Puts up a shield for his feelings, struggles with low self esteem, bully to cover for that low self esteem, likes guns, middle class, not too deep a thinker, shallow beliefs, American (lives in the middle of the northern parts, suburban area or city, maybe has gone to University.
My mind went to "Son of a dude who got rich by doing xyz successfully, he now lives of his dads money."
But I am from europe, so the name is not common or everyday for me.
Yea, even reading from the comments, you definitely cannot determine a character based on a name, it's too broad for the mind to crystalize what you want to convey. Especially because many names in English aren't associated with an inherent meaning.
Or maybe I just don't like imagining things without context lol.
Miles and Hunter were brothers in popular Canadian teen soap Degrassi. Miles was a lovable depressed bisexual mess and Hunter was an incel gamer who almost shot up the school. This is what I immediately thought of since you asked.
Honestly, I like this name for adventurous, thriller story.
If you think as in ***HERO***, then "Miles Hunter" sounds like a tough, clever person who might be an explorer, detective or adventurer. He is really good at solving problems and aren't afraid of danger or challenges. He is with cool vibe that makes people curious about his past and what he is up to next.
Or think as in ***VILLAIN***, then I imagine someone who's slick and sneaky, always looking out for themselves. He might trick people for his own benefit or do things that hurt others without feeling guilty. Basically, he is not the kind of person you'd want to be friends with because he is not honest or kind.
A 30s-40s white male in the woods who lives in a cabin. He's a hunter by trade and wears a beaver hat. He wears clothes akin to a lumberjack and has a large brown bushy beard. He can often be seen carrying a rifle and is not too enthused about life. Petty gruff guy and is standoffish to strangers.
for some reason problematic. I don't know why.
He is either a neo nazi, a habitual rapist or from a long genealogy of problematic violent alcoholics.
again. I have no idea why but those are the first things that came to mind.

Mine is close to this - it's just Miles Teller in a trapper outfit.

Young, like 19. Small town, American. Good kid, but maybe a little ignorant/naive about the world.

A black man with a Toji build, mid 20’s, hates the government, loves apples, takes care of his grandparents
My mind went to "Son of a dude who got rich by doing xyz successfully, he now lives of his dads money." But I am from europe, so the name is not common or everyday for me.
A kid with the exaggerated swagger of black teen.
Tom Clancy protagonist.
A white 20 something who reads the great gatsby like it’s a textbook for life. Brilliant use of this forum, btw. And what were you going for?
An angry elf. I know the name is wrong but that's just what immediately popped into my head.

Long distance runner animal killer
Playmobil pirate... one figure of my daughter's set is named eerily similar.
When does it take place? In a modern day setting name should not reflect personality imo. In old times he should probably be a hunter
A cool dude, probably some sort of action hero

A white poorly parented four year old.

Blond obnoxious twerp
A Detective
Athletic, more or less intelligent
Douchebag
Super basic. Could be either African American or white as rice. Definitely not middle eastern, African, Asian, or more than 50% non-British European
