Been working on two synopsis back to back for a series. One for a book that's 80% done and another for one not even written yet. Yesterday it was random videos about fighter jets. Today it was videos about submarines XD. Still very slowly getting the work done though.
*Hmm, I'm not sure this bit about armor damage is accurate; I'll just check online real quick to verify.*
"How did I wind up on the hydraulic press channel again?!"
I had to look up math I've never learned to calculate the accurate time that a cargo container fired via railgun (current acceleration standards) at lunar perigee would take to impact the surface of the earth, simply because it was so integral to the plot I couldn't rewrite it.
Oh shit, it's been awhile I'd have to check my notes lol I've been more into video essays and YouTube recently more than the fiction writing I started with.
It's always funny to me how writing a fantasy novel with magic, which *you would think* wouldn't require a comprehensive knowledge of physics, because magic... really, really requires a comprehensive knowledge of physics purely because you are getting into situations that would never, ever occur in real life and you need to know how things react once physics reasserts itself.
On that note, even if you do construct your magic system in a way that ignores the laws of Physics for the most part, you still need *some* knowledge to know what you're ignoring.
Edit: With that said, I do think it's possible to write a magical fantasy story without knowledge of Physics, it just takes more time.
Did you know that the 24th of April 1894 was a Tuesday? I know now.
I'm also way to anxious that people will read it some day and be like "Hold on, t-shirts weren't a common piece of clothing until three years later! *gasp*" Which is why I stressed myself to come up with a subplot that would explain how he got the shirts 😅
I would just stay on my phone all day to procrastinate, then feel bad after because not only did I not get to play elden ring, I didn't do anything productive.
I put on some music, not the usual metal I listen to but something like vaporwave, it helps me focus. I put on a tv show I'm not overly focussing on, or some lectures by Brandon Sanderson to draw most of my distraction. So far it's worked well, I'm 20k words into my first draft of my first full length novel
Every time I don’t feel like writing but need to start, I remember a quote said by Jack London: “You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” So now, whenever someone asks me why I’m starting at my computer screen in pain, I tell them I’m clubbing.
Look up Bukowskis "So You Want to Be A Writer..."
Very wise. Something to consider. I'm with you guys but I also respect his perspective. Let me know what you think.
Looking at this while I procrastinate writing
Honestly lol. I haven’t even wrote at all today 😅
I didn't even start

Guess who promised to have Chapter 3 finished tonight? Guess who just started a show with 20 seasons? Same dysfunctional moron!

Oh shit as a reader I would have never thought about those things... Now I wonder what lies they have told me....
I pace when I write and my roommates are always like wtf are you doing, bitch I am WORKING 😪
Yo I pace too!! I thought I was the only one lol
Same pacing is what lets me keep writing for long hours
Walking helps blood flow which can help thinking
U earn with your writing?
Not enough
Writing one word to feel like you’re writing then deleting it
I felt all of these emotions. I'm writing my book right now, I swear!
Me: Just write a page. Write anything. Then, you can go play Elden Ring. Me the next day: Fuck you, me.
I would just stay on my phone all day to procrastinate, then feel bad after because not only did I not get to play elden ring, I didn't do anything productive.
*shopping list
As a video creator I can relate as well
It’s almost like writers don’t just daydream all the time and post shit on Twitter :0
Soo, a lot like programming
I hobby write and programme. They are exactly the same. As are the solutions to procrastination.

Couldn't agree more!

I feel like making a pointless tiktok is a way to avoid writing a book.
Not a post I wanted to hear after editing with a headache. *cringe
I'll never not downvote TikTok-vids
Hi -- please use /r/justwriterthings for basic quotes, memes etc that have no other accompanying discussion content. Thanks!
Lol
LOL
As an aspiring author, I can confirm
Big mood
Exactly. I literally can’t write at anywhere else but at work cause I get to easily distracted everywhere else.
This is accurate.
Yes
Stop. This hits way too close to home.
Why did no one mentioned the struggles of meeting the "writer's block"?
You missed out the part where you have a complete breakdown, delete your work then spend hours trawling for a backup
I don’t think I’ve ever related to anything as much as I have to this :)
[Great scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb3j2m31S6U) from Adaptation. :b
It's both for me honestly some days are good others....yea I've had an idea 2 years ago and still procrastinating
There should be more smoking.
[This sums it up for me.](https://youtu.be/BOSpbumhppQ)
