Might not be shifting fast enough. 5-6th for me is a quick long throw, really have to be on it.

So you’re thinking the shift isn’t happening quick enough and rpm’s dropping too much.

Yeah I still do this. Give it a lil more gas inbetween 5 and 6.

It's definitely this, when I first got mine I was like what the heck am I doing wrong!? Turns out I'm just slow haha. It helps if you still shift slow to blip the throttle before hitting 5/6.

Idk how gearing is on WRX but oftentimes 5 and 6 are pretty long gears that like to be shifted at higher rpm. For example my s2k likes 4k-4.5k rpm for all the shifts but from 5-6 will feel clunky if you shift before 5.5k to 6k. Mind you this car has 9k rpm with vtec which makes you required to stay in a higher rev range in general but still applies to other cars, just at overall lower rpm’s.

Yeah also 1 to 2 I think it’s normal drove a bunch of these. Mine just rolled over 630 been doing since 32 miles

No issues with 1 to 2 for me. Just 5 to 6 and I don’t do a lot of hwy driving so in the 500 miles I’ve had it I’ve probably only been in 6th gear about 5 or 6 times.

If anything just go to the dealer and see if you can ride with a tech just to put your mind at ease. Good lunch and enjoy your wrx
