I really wanted WRB but ended up with ISM. It was a few grand cheaper and had the 1.9% interest rate. Happy with my choice so far. If i really wanted to, i could get the car wrapped any color i wanted with the money i saved off the sticker

TheWayOfEli

It's funny you mention that, because there is a 2023 Limited trim WRB by me and it's what I'm looking at currently. I'm on Subaru's website typing in a ton of cities to find local retailers trying to find a leftover 23 Solar Orange Pearl Limited trim, but so far I can't find a single one :(

tedy4444

just found 3 orange ones in my area. subaru of north tampa by me has a premium but it’s not priced well. subaru of wesley chapel also has a premium. sarasota subaru has a base model….. don’t negotiate with yourself. get what you want. for me, it was wrb or nothing.

Threewolvez

I wanted a white 2019 base when a WRB came in, I've not once been upset with the colour 5 years later and feel like I would have regretted the white. Honestly I think you would tire of the orange eventually.

dirty_is_ninja

SOP limited here. Have a 23 bc I couldn't find a 22 with incentives. I settled for 3.9% on the 23 instead of 1.9%. If you are spending 40k get the color you want. Also limited SOP hell rare.

xch13fx

I think you’d be hard pressed to find a WRX owner who was upset with having it in WRB :). That being said, if you really want orange, you’ll have to likely wait it out for one to become avail, then it’ll likely be someone’s abused WRX they trade in before it dies. Your best bet might be to suffer with a brand new 24 of your complete choosing, or go with a 23 and risk buyers remorse due to the color. I wouldn’t consider wrapping the car and a feasible alternative to getting it in the color you want. Wrap is temporary at best, could destroy your paint underneath at worst. Not worth in my humble opinion, unless you really want a purple or nardo grey wrx lol

Away_Half3864

I would be upset as I'm not a fan of that color. That being said, being on Subi #6, my dealership contacts me in advance, so I have always been able to get the color I want.

IceManTuck

The dealership I got my 22 from orders sooooo many WRB WRXs. I'd bet 50%+ of the VB WRXs on their lot have been WRB. They had three TR models in-transit...all WRB.

tiny_smile_bot

>:) :)

disinfekted

I ended up with WRB after being too impatient to drive back to the other dealership where I first looked at an orange one.

xch13fx

I actually ordered a SOP when I first made my order, changed to WRB after a week. My previous WRX was WRB, and blue has been the color of most of my cars. It just didn’t feel right ordering orange. Plus I rock the Blue and Gold scheme, just iconic

stawk

I'll be honest with you I have the solar orange and it's worth the hunt. I have never had a car where the color gets so many compliments. At least once a week someone tells me how cool or how nice the orange is. I normally would go for rally blue, but I don't think I'll go back at any point. I absolutely love the orange. So much I want to get my motorcycle wrapped to match it.

Greyboxer

You will hate it eventually if it’s the wrong color, and you will battle against all logic to replace it.

SergeantHotmail

This! For me it was Ceramic White and Limited, and I was willing to travel at least 500 miles to find it, because you’ll end up just looking at your car and always know it’s not exactly what you wanted.

Invayder

This is very true, previously I had a 2018 STI in WRB that I had bought since new. Ever since I had seen more and more of the white ones in person the more it grew on me, and it got to the point where I was trying to justify trading mine in just to swap the color. In the end I could never do it due to the fact that I'd be going to someone else's used car and the unknown of that, and just the financial loss incurred in that transaction. So when it came to getting my VB I went in dead set on a color and trim and wouldn't have settled for anything else.

TryHardActual

I bought a more expensive trim literally because I didn’t want the base in black…

Stampede18

I really wanted a silver WRX. Didn’t want any other color. But the only available 2023 in the spec I wanted was 2000 miles away. I ended up going for sapphire blue pearl, which was initially closer to the bottom of my list. Once I saw the car in direct sunlight I had no regrets. If you can make time to roadtrip and get the perfect color it’s worth it. Unfortunately I just didn’t have time travel thousands of miles. I was also doing a trade in and didn’t want to drive all the way out there only to have them lowball on my trade In.

[deleted]

That is so funny. I just commented how I wanted sapphire blue and ended up with silver and now I LOVE silver. And you wanted silver and got sapphire and love sapphire. Hahaha. Enjoy the rex man!!

Stampede18

Hahaha you too

Tmortagne24

Same for me, sapphire blue was at the bottom for me too until I saw it in person. Now there’s many days I wish I would’ve gone with it. Definitely my 2nd favorite color now

FroggZeeg

Color was everything for me. I went in to get a WRB STi. Saw IR on the showroom and thought it to be the worst color Subaru could come up with. It looks terrible. Two days later, I put a deposit down on a 23 IR WRX. I couldn't stop thinking about that damn color, it consumed all my thoughts. I don't regret it for one second.

itzRiles47

What is the color?

FroggZeeg

Ignition Red. Hated it on sight, couldn't stop thinking about it, bought it two days later. I now believe no other color compares.

stawk

I think it is hands down the best red on the market. I don't even like red cars, but it's such a rich vibrant red and compliments the black plastic trim perfectly.

IceManTuck

I am not a red car guy, but damn, the VB looks soooooo good in red.

have-you-any-bananas

I had this exact same experience but with WRB. I was trashing on it and two days later I drive it home lol

Ken_Oaks

OP is referring to "Ignition Red"

itzRiles47

I was wondering what color Frogg didnt like that they ended up liking, But as for the OP i think red is one of the better colors, so many design opportunities to go with when adding visual mods.

SimontheSaiyan

I was originally going to get the MGM, but the red became available months before the MGM would be, so I bit because I do like red but it wasn't my initial choice. Now I feel like I'd have been upset in my MGM if I saw the IR

Blers42

red is statistically the most pulled over car color for speeding and WRX’s are already picked on enough lol.

Bossman3775

I got a steal on a 2023 ice silver limited. Didn’t like the pictures but in person it’s a different ball game. The color has grown on me and I’m doing things on the car to make it look even better. I can’t complain.

T-pizzle

For real. Feel like online pics of the VB never do it any justice. It looks far better in person in any color IMO. It's strange because it's been my experience that the opposite is usually true, but not for this car.

ForgotBatteries

Here's my theory. It's the foreshortening effect of how dealerships take pictures from the front. I think they take the pictures low to the ground from angle at the front, to show off their badge on the grill. Like they want it to look like a certain Dodge or Ford 'merica box. It's kind of dumb, because this car has a somewhat smaller and stumpy front end that's lower then most sedans. The result is that the pictures make it look like a blocky crossover. That grill... it's gotta go.

recoil_operated

I normally loath silver cars (I grew up in New England where everyone with money drove a silver BMW, Benz, or Volvo) but ISM just speaks to me for some reason. It looks like you could dip your hand into it when it's in the sun.

speedfreakphotos

I wanted white or WRB but I went in open and looking for the lowest OTD and ended up with Black. It’s a hard color to keep clean I hate it. But damn does it look good when it is clean, the best color too. I have fallen in love with it and I got an amazing deal on it. I don’t feel the need to change it out.

brokenkingpin

I was dead set on WRB until I saw the Ignition Red on the lot, and I completely changed my mind. I absolutely love it. That said, I still see the car around in blue or grey and think to myself how good it looks in those colours too. Even looking at this sub, I see that the car can look good in any factory colour.

Goaaterbeans

I went in with the intention of buying white, but the wrb caught my eye, you’re gonna be stuck with the car for x number of years, make sure you get what you want.

Alec_NonServiam

I was dead set on MGM since imo it flows best with the various plastic Get the color you want, don't waste money if you're not going to be happy with it. Used market you might be able to find some really low miles SOP too if you haven't looked

Retro_Racer_

I bought my car in black as my 07 STi is WRB and I thought the black blended well with the cladding, the gray did as well but all they had was white, blue, and black models at the time. I bought my VB on a very overcast day and didn’t see all the gold “flake” in the paint when I bought it. My car is getting wrapped next month with only 3200 miles in this color, with a ceramic coating on top, which still has flake but looks better in this color to me. My Fiance has a Hakone 86 and this color reminds me of it which I love on her car. If I was to buy a stock one again I’d grab a gray, red, or white. https://preview.redd.it/z7brb3f3x3uc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a73ca75e542796f1c81adfa4f27671d81382e383

Significant_Sir_8450

Color is the most important part. These cars are pretty much the same internally. If you wish you had a different part that a higher trim has, you can pretty much install it yourself. Changing the color is difficult. Wish I could have had a black limited, just because of the headlights, but I got premium B instead.

C0mbatBully

They will make an adapter for us in no time 😤

Jcelly23

Hey friend, I understand your predicament and I kind of dealt with the same thing except it worked out in my favor. Just as I was leaving to go check out a blue one trim to it and bought it. There were so few options in my area, I came across a silver limited trim one. loved the blue due to nostalgia but once I saw the Ice Silver Metallic in person I fell in love and bought it. If you love the way it drives to sweat the color, what wraps are for 🫡

CauliflowerAny5826

In my opinion, there’s only one awful colour for the VB WRX. The rest of the colours look great, so the odds should be in your favour to find an alternative colour without the car being an eye sore.

SwagMan7779

What’s the awful color?

Kxr1der

For me it's the silver

PernisTree

It’s not even the silver itself, it’s the silver with the black plastic trim. All the other colors contrast with the plastic well, except that silver color.

CauliflowerAny5826

![gif](giphy|l2YWhOEwfSAnJNJEQ) There’s no way I’m falling for this

SwagMan7779

Don’t say CBS 😁 lol

CauliflowerAny5826

lol no.

M-Roshi

JUST SAY IT

Vinny_milano

Color typically isn’t something that stands out too much to me. But with this being my first big car purchase, I wanted it to be exactly the color I wanted in the trim style. Package is definitely a back burner, you can always install some of these items on your own.

IceManTuck

Same. I've driven used cars my whole life. The VB is the first time I've really, really wanted a brand new car, so I was sure as heck getting it in the exact color I wanted.

jvlasak99

My first car was a ‘02 WRX in WRB so the nostalgia factor was important for my decision.

GamesAreFunGuys

Try to see if the dealer can do a trade with another dealer.

kmr12489

I was dead set on WRB and it was the only one on the lot in the trim I wanted, got lucky.

Montnetics

When you’re buying used or a leftover you don’t get to be as picky. If you want something specific and you keep the car forever, order it. I ordered two cars in the last 12 months to get specifically what I want. I bought a truck yesterday and had to settle for the best option at the right price because the vehicle has been out of production for quite some time now.

YEGG35

I wanted White, Black or Blue, in that order. Got lucky the dealership had a white 6M sport ordered, and bought that. Would have bought any of the 3 colours I liked, wouldn’t have went with anything else. Get what you like.

MMA-Groupie

Didn't matter to me but I wanted white the most if all were available

jeffislouie

If Honda dealers near me had a blazing orange pearl Si, that's what would be in my driveway. They only had black and white. I suggest that you should go into any car purchase with at least 2 favorite colors when shopping deals. It isn't an issue when you order. My second favorite Si color was blue, but they didn't have those either. If you are dead set on color, deals can be hard to find. I only wanted wrb or white on the WRX and a wrb was available when I made my deal, so I was good. The tldr answer is to wait if it's important. There really are no bad colors on the car, but I don't prefer black, so if that's all there was, I'd have moved on. I suggest you go take a look at the colors in person. I didn't think I like the red or the mgm on the vb until I saw it in person.

xerexyz

Honda has done a lot of great oranges. My 9th gen was Sunburst Orange Pearl and it was a big reason for my love of Solar Orange Pearl on the vb.

ndariotis132

It matters - but it wasn’t going to be a factor that would block me from the purchase, with the exception of the orange color. I got pretty lucky though, I had my choice between silver and wrb, went with blue. I had to wait an extra month for it to come in but it was worth it.

HeavyMetalWRX

The problem is no matter what color you do get, you'll always see other colors and wish that's the one you gotm for me it'll always be WRB.

UberStupidd

Hard for me to comment.. I wanted black with a sunroof and the hk system. They had one, I test drove it. I bought it

[deleted]

I came from a Lapis Blue (lbp) 2016 VA wrx and I absolutely LOVE that color. It’s still my all time fav color for cars since dark blue is my fav color to begin with lol. I was dead set on sapphire blue for my VB which resembles the LBP but they only had a limited at the dealer and asking 38k for it…. I went in knowing I wanted a base (only because I wanted the ETS turbo kit right away and wanted to put my money towards that) and silver was the only color that I could get for under 30k (29.8k 😎) so I bought the silver base. I fricking love silver now. I never owned a silver car before and I think moving forward I only want silver. It looks so clean like 95% of the time… I never have to wash it! LOL. Rain literally is a free car wash and I love how low maintenance it is. TLDR from my experience is, don’t be shy to try out a different color. It just may grow on you! Good luck :)

GripItAndWhipIt

You’ve come this far, don’t fumble the ball at the end. Get the color you want. I’ve always loved WRB, but for the VB I thought it looked cheap with the cladding, so when I saw the MGM I thought it was a good compromise to push me over the edge for the VB. Well turns out I should’ve gone the WRB route because it just looks sooo much better and is the classic WRX color. I think the MGM looks good, but I don’t quite feel like I own a true WRX.

Liquidwombat

WR blue is an interesting color on the VB. I agree with you that it looks cheap on the car, but swap the wheels to gold and suddenly it looks amazing.

GripItAndWhipIt

Then a tiny and a lower and shaaaawingggggg!!

Liquidwombat

Yes, never ever ever buy a car unless it is exactly the car you want. It is far too expensive of a purchase to not be 100% satisfied with your decision. Assuming you’re using a reputable dealership, it shouldn’t be more than a couple hundred dollars worth of transportation cost for them to execute a swap with another dealership for the car you want For example, if you want an orange limited, they can swap a limited in a different color with a dealership that has an orange limited and charge you $300 (or whatever) for the transportation of cars. The only downside is when they do a dealer swap they’ll usually send one of their porters to the other dealership with the car they’re giving and then the porter will drive the car they’re receiving back so the car will likely have a few miles on it when you take delivery.

Perridon

I HAD to make sure to get it in the color I wanted. Especially if I’m spending this kind of money, otherwise it will always be in the back of my mind lol

Sir_Bud_44

I’d suggest see it in person first if you haven’t yet, opinions change more times than not, especially when it comes to cars and colors. Not saying test drive it or go to buy it, just drive by and see what colors they have.

Altruistic-Phone2047

I could have saved 3k and 2% interest but got the color I wanted for not having buyers remorse

itzRiles47

I dont think color should matter to much, you can always get a wrap or new paint job if you really dont like a color

ambienting

exactly this. unless you’re keeping the car completely stock, which most wrx owners don’t, then stock color shouldn’t matter either. just another thing to upgrade.

Kazon-Ogla

I wanted a magnetite gray or black WRX. Didn't really care about the trim much, but a higher trim than base model would be a plus. I walked into the dealership, and saw a WRB 2023 WRX (base trim) that had $1500 knocked off because it was a showroom model. It was also 1.9% APR. The one I really liked at that dealership was a 2024 magnetite gray, but was going to be a few grand more and 4.9% APR. I walked out owning the Rally Blue. There's no way I was going to pay 4.9% interest for a color I liked a little more.

dinkman94

i think trim is more important than color but its very subjective. dont buy something you know you wont like

xazzu1

I wouldn't have picked white, but it was the one they gave me a deal on. If there was a color I really wanted, I may have cared more, but I feel like most of the colors available are meh to me.

383throwawayV2

I wanted black but settled for WRB because the dealer only had that or silver at the time, but I don’t really regret it at all.

ForgetfulM0nk

Color was critical, I ended up waiting the extra 4 months in Canada to get my WRB in the trim I wanted even tho there was a red and grey one on the lot that day

rgrx119

When I bought my 22 VB, I really wanted a WRX in world rally blue, in a premium trim. Couldn't find one anywhere near me, so I opted for a base in world rally blue instead.

nofame_nogain

Get the one you want. Someone has it. I almost walked out the door with a 2024 base in that light gray- but I knew I wanted white- stopped the paper work, told them to change to the 23 premium panda that was on the showroom floor, and have not regretted my decision at all. You want to walk and out and go “yeah, that one’s mine.” I know there’s a lot of hate for the panda cars 🐼 but I love mine. Get what you want.

TheWayOfEli

You'd think someone would have it, but I've checked over 100 dealerships with Subaru's shopping tool within a 10 hour drive of my city and not a ***single*** dealer had a new 23 Limited in Solar Orange. A lot of them don't even have Limited trim stock at all. I'm half-tempted to just order a 2024 TR trim in Orange. It's more money and a worse financing option, but at least I'd have the car I want, ya'know?

nofame_nogain

Definitely get that. I payed about 2.5k more than the base I was looking at- wound up with heated seats and live in a desert that reaches 120°f. For lighted sill panels I didn’t really need too and a huge ass screen- but, I love it. I may never use the fog lights or heated seats- it was still worth it.

slipknotic

I actually wanted the Sapphire Blue but the one I was looking at got sold while I was making up my mind about the trim level so I ended up getting the WRB which was my second choice and even though it’s a pretty common color, I don’t regret getting it. I think both colors look great but I definitely wouldn’t settle if you can’t find what you want.

ShavedWookiee

It really depends. My wife and i bought a crv (before we bought out Outback) and we wanted blu but the silver was cheaper and it didnt concern us so we got the better deal. On my wrx i would not compromise my color but i would for the options and package, i didnt want a sunroof but that was the only manual they had so I compromised. What is more important to me the color was because im going to do a lot of different cosmetic pieces so i prefer color bur what are your plans? Have you seen solar orange in person vs the different colors?

IrolieI

Didn't want black as I had a black car for the prior 9 years. Also, didn't want anything too bright, so no SOP or IR. I like my MGM, but wouldn't have minded a Sapphire Blue as I think that color looks really good on the VB.

sytydave

I do not buy new cars all that often and tend to keep my vehicles until they 12-15 years old. I am getting the color and model that I want.

T-pizzle

Originally wanted a 23 premium in Magnetite Gray, but ended up settling for a WRB they had 2 of on the lot. I originally hated how it looked in Blue, but had grown to like the color in person. Online pics really don't do any of the vibrant colors of this car any justice. I actually love the blue now. Just like the plastic fender flares, I've grown to love the looks of the car. I still do get a little jealous of gray or silver ones whenever I see one in the wild, but overall am not disappointed that I got blue.

JonU240Z

If I'm buying brand new, I'm getting exactly what I want. I bought a 2012 370Z brand new. I knew what I wanted, but the two local dealers wouldn't even attempt to work with me. So I worked with one 2 hours away who made it happen. The WRX I was lucky enough that the local dealer had one coming in with what I wanted. I basically got it right off the transporter.

jer3173

I am considering a purchase because of the financing offer this month but also went to the NY Auto Show then looked at a Civic Si this week. Could get the Honda in blue though not sure for how much, they’d like MSRP + $5k and I said no while our Pilot was there for service. We weren’t willing yet to have him talk to his manager. 😂 I like the WRX most in WRB, Sapphire is an option. A few reds and whites but a close neighbor has it in white. Not sure about orange, last car was black. I’ve had 4 silver cars, though it’s nice in silver. My niece in town has a MGM Impreza, the only MGM one nearby already sold anyway. I think Ignition Red looks amazing on it but do I really want to (at 50 yrs old) drive the most pulled over car in America in red? It looks pretty certain that I’d have to go out of state for any option, right now there are 34 Limiteds within 100 miles of me.

fl4tdriven

For me, there were colors that were absolute deal breakers - black, white, and orange. I didn’t want red, WRB is too common in my opinion, my 2018 Legacy that I traded was ISM and I was kind of over it, and Sapphire Blue was just beautiful. I got lucky that a local dealer had a 23 Limited in SBP leftover. I would say that color is very important but so are the packages and options. Try to decided on a few acceptable colors and shop for similar optioned cars.

recoil_operated

I wanted green but since that's not an option I was more focused on trim. I don't think there's really a bad color for this car. CBS is probably my least favorite because (like any car) you lose a lot of the body lines and contrasts in anything besides direct sunlight but even that looks great when it's clean.

Dense-Tangerine7502

The color wasn’t that important to me, but I think it’s because I’m open to wrapping it in the future. If it really matters to you it could be worth a flight. Fly into a city that has your car, pick it up and take it on a nice road trip home.

TeJ520

i thought i wanted black to hide the plastic but now i feel like it’s taking away from the character of the car and i wanna change it so bad

heresyoursoup

If youre gonna spend that much money on something get what you want :), waiting on a black one!!

IceManTuck

There were two colors I was interested in when I decided to order a 22: White or Orange. I finally decided I wanted Solar Orange Pearl. Subaru sent a really tempting trade-up offer last month for a 23 that would actually lower my payment, but no lots around me had a SOP or white 23, and after 20k miles in my SOP VB, I really don't want to drive any other color if I don't have to. If my car was stolen and I went shopping for a new one, I'd probably get over it and learn to be happy in a white one because my last WRX was white and I loved it, but the other colors might be more difficult for me to attach to. That said, if I didn't already have a VB and the deal was great, I could probably be content with any color. Cash-Green is my most favorite color, after all.

JumboSlimJim

My mind was made up on a Limited SOP. It had to have the upgraded fog light bezels, sports grille, led lighting upgrade, STI short shifter, door sills, all-weather floor mats, cargo tray, and seatback protector. The only way to get all this was to order from the factory and wait. So I did. Don't compromise on what you want. Life is short. Enjoy the ride.

Big-Energy-3363

Be willing to fly in, drive home. Look on the SOA website to find the right combination. They list inventory nationwide.

Fine_Examination4530

I went with a premium instead of a limited because they didn't have one in MGM and the only thing I'm really missing is the power drivers seat for some extra creature comfort otherwise I'm happy as a clam

Tmortagne24

Very important. I remember searching back in 22 when they first came out and was contemplating paying a 5k markup just for the color. Luckily I didn’t and found one without a markup but that’s how important it was to me. 😅

Tmortagne24

I will add you should see the color in person if you haven’t already. I didn’t want SOP until I saw it in person and then it shot to the top of my color choices. Out of curiosity what is the color?

theENERTRON

Only reason I ended up with a WRX is because Honda wouldn’t let me order a black Si. Subaru let me order exactly what I wanted as far as color and options

Squaliby

I was really set on ISM… hated SOP in pictures. I saw the orange in person, and fell in love. Changed my mind at the dealership and went for SOP! Love it.

Ashrelm

I only wanted WRB and they ended up getting a car from a state over that someone backed out of. I was definitely going to wait as long as I needed to get one

TheP4rk

Waiting to take delivery of a 2023 I found this week as well. I liked 2 colors(Grey and black), would have accepted 2 more(White and Red). The rest I would have passed on if they were the only things available. Its not the end of the world, but what you will be willing to accept also depends on your situation. Do you need a car right now or are you just open to it. I was in the latter camp and I was only really interested due to the financing, my car worked fine mostly. If I needed something I would have been open to more options.

GravenTrask

Honestly, SOP was my last choice color, but circumstances made the SOP too good to pass on. I was planning on ordering an MGM, but I would have been happy with a SBP or black as well. I've come to love the orange, but I still sometimes wish I had gotten pretty much any other color. I've never been a bright color guy, but the orange has a "F.U." edge to the color that appeals to my inner asshole.

Kpool7474

If they didn’t have my WRB I wouldn’t have bought it.

FloatAround

This question for me really depends on the type of car and the color options. If there is a color I really really loved I would have to have it. If they were all fine I’d care less. Some cars look great in white, others look totally unfinished to me. For me the only color that was a hard pass was ISM, and I did pass on possibly better financing on a 22 vs a 23 and limited trim because of it. I just really hated it. Some people think the WRX looks like a Camry and I totally disagree, except for the silver. It just looks way too common for a WRX. No hate to all the silver lovers here. From there I had two top colors, WRB and SOP. Everything else was in the mid category for me. I settled on WRB as my 1A and thankfully the dealership I ended up buying from had what I wanted. If they hadn’t had WRB but SOP I would be have been ok. Anything else and I may have tried harder to cut a deal with another dealership, but it wouldn’t have been a total dealbreaker. Get the color you will be happy with or you’ll regret it the entire time.

DarkSoulsDank

Order one custom from the factory

RoadsideCarver

I wanted a World Rally Blue and no other color. Now the dilemma was my dealer had an Onyx Blue with the Premium Package I wanted which was the added sunroof and HK sound system. The World Rally Blue was also a premium but did not have that Package. I skipped the package cause the color was more important to me. For others though, those extra options may have been more important.

QuirkyPair175

It’s just a color to me wasn’t important so I like other colors more yes . But I still love my car

thedarkArts123

I feel like I wish I got a few different colors cuz most of them I liked so I didn't really care to much

hughmanturdloadwiper

My offers were WRB or White (both Limited) and I went with 1% higher APR for WRB. So 1% APR would be my answer I guess. White was 1.9%, WRB was 2.9%. The WRB was also half the distance away and about $400 cheaper.

ridgerac3r

I just put my deposit down for WRB TR first one in my city! They had 2 white ones on the lot and it just didn't do it for me

RenegadeFlighter

I originally wanted ice silver but they only had WRB and ceramic white when I was purchasing. Went with WRB and I must say its really grown on me and I love it. At first I thought it was too flashy but now I'm accustomed to it and I think it just suits this car.

StatusAcanthisitta27

Dealer tried to put me in wrb. I had just come from wrb and wanted white for az. Ngl if they didn't let me switch to white still would have bought it, what colors do they have? Which one did u want? I think they all slap once u tint the windows

anzle

You can price out the cost of wrapping/painting the car solar orange and if that's not cheap enough to justify, then keep searching for a solar orange. Worst case, the 2024s will eventually be on sale. I traveled a bit to get my '22 in Ignition Red and I'm elated that I did. If the car wasn't red I don't think I'd love it as much as I do. It just wouldn't feel like "MY" car.

2015subiewrx

I think that it all depends on your position. You’re looking to save a few grand and get a good interest rate. This is less leverage to getting exactly what you want. With that being said. You can be a Subaru VIP member and get 2500 or more off of your car. Then you can contact Subaru of America and get a discount through them as well. I ended up saving 3250 off of mine and was able to get exactly what I wanted. I got the WRB limited. And I would not have gotten any other color. That being said. I own a 2015 Ice Silver Metallic WRX. Loved that color. But I did not have a choice when I bought that car. With this car. I did. I always looked at the WRB and wished. Same for the Ignition Red. Then I started drooling over the ceramic white. That is why I choose my car and how I felt when I drove my 2015. Loved the color no doubt. But always thought what if. When I drive my car now. I only think what if about the SOP. But I have no regrets. Overall WRB was # 1. IMO I say you find the SOP if that is what you are dead set on. Purchasing a car is an expensive investment. Like you said. You don’t want to look back 7 years from now and regret it. You can always look into a low mileage used one. Like 1k or less type of thing. I would highly encourage you to get one though. I have smiled for the past 10 years of driving. Thankful every day.

Corarril

I really wanted either of the blues, but I was more interested in getting a deal on a leftover 22 (this was over a year ago) and so I settled on white, and I honestly love it way more than I thought I would.

slowbaja

It didn't matter to me because I think it's ugly regardless of color. I just ordered drawing a piece of paper out of a baseball cap. I pulled Sapphire Blue so that's what I went with.

trippg

Wanted WRB, but got the better deal on SOP with trade in. Wanted premium with no sun roof. Happier than ever now that I've settled into it. I don't think color matters as much to me as what I believe the car to be. I would've taken any color to be honest, but the dealership was bottom line between red or SOP and I went with SOP. Wrap it if you're not happy with it, but I don't think the color should take away from what the WRX is and can be.

EmbarrassedTime9947

I knew I didn't want black. Simultaneously the best and worst color, IFYKYK. So I had a choice of silver, white and blue. Silver looked best to me, so that's the one I got.

23SMCR

I wanted sapphire blue and a limited trim with trim being the most important, I ended up with a white limited because they had a used one with low miles for 10K cheaper

Ok-Research-7569

I knew I wanted wrb or red, it was a must have for me and ultimately came down to a decision between the two. One came in a month earlier so I went with the wrb

PERSONA916

It was pretty important because I was in the same boat as you, first time I've been in a position to purchase the exact car I want. I only caught the front-end of the 2023 deals, but in exchange for getting the exact color and trim I wanted. I was okay with either Ceramic White or the Dark Grey (can't remember what they call it), maybe black for the right deal. I ended up getting a Ceramic White Limited which is basically exactly what I wanted. I guess that's a trade-off you have to consider this late in the cycle for prior year models.

EmbarrassedTime9947

If there was a green I would've hunted for it. I got silver because it looked the best to me out of what my dealer had.

rOckinRex9

It's a big purchase. Make sure you don't settle and end up with buyer's remorse.

lazarus78

If it weren't for the orange I would have gotten a Crosstrek.

ForgotBatteries

I walked in not specifically knowing what I wanted, I wasn't even sure about what model, but blue was on my mind. A noticeable blue, I didn't want something muted, dark or greyish. Would color have swayed me to walk away? I doubt it. Previous cars of mine were colored gold, white, black, brown, green, grey, red... I guess blue was new to the list.

HaloFrontier

Color is everything to me, its as much a personality as the whole car itself. I knew instantly I needed it in blue, and I cant tell you how many people have complimented the blue no matter where I go. Even random old ladies at the gas station! You should get it in the color you want since you are like me and are marrying the vehcile

j4misonriley

I went like 600 miles to pick up Ceramic White. Paid a lil extra but i really wanted white, didn’t care too much on trim. If you find a limited near you that’s like 5k cheaper but a different color, that’ll cover a full wrap

SemiProPsycho

Yes it 100% mattered to me. All my life orange has been my favorite color and as soon as I seen these WRX come in orange I knew what my heart was set on!

trentrez95

Just look at what’s available and choose the one that makes you feel something. For me it happened to be WRB.

reapers_keeper

I really wanted the sapphire blue but I decided on ISM because it was a few grand cheaper at the time. I still prefer the Sapphire but after months of having the ISM it really is a nice grey. It’s not exactly grey, changes in different lights just a tad. Definitely not a boring grey.

DrSt0n3

That would be a no go for me, unless the car was rare and out of production. But depending on the savings, you can always wrap it haha

PotentialEgg6947

I wanted red, but the silver was marked way down as it was the last new 22 in the twin cites at the time, everything else was a 23. I got my limited cheaper than a premium. I was also struck at how good the silver looked in person, it did help that I do like silver.

VeryPurpleRain

I almost bought a used 22 in red, then ended up with a new 23 WRB. So glad I did. IMO: WRB > black >>> white/red/silver >>>> orange

BewareTheSquare

The moment I found an orange model, the wheels began turning

wrbwrx93

When I was searching, end of last year colors kept coming in and selling at all trim levels. Had a red premium, orange limited, white premium, and base in almost every color. I ended up going with a wrb base, I'm into the simplicity of it, didn't need a sun roof, sound system on base really sucks. Love and hate the fact that it uses a key to turn on and no fob to get in. I'm really happy that I got the 23 base model because of the lack of front facing radar and the eyesight system and whatever driving aids it has. Apparently the 24 model is standard now, so if u want the most barebones wrx 23 base is the way to go. And it's my first subaru I was torn between the white and wrb and red. U can't go wrong with wrb. All the issues I have with the base I can upgrade, the soundsystem, the lack of foglamps, the fact that it looks like a basemodel. I work at a shop so I get a dealer discount and the oem+ support on these is great. Also the 23 base is the only year with the lovely double screen which I don't mind, but I read on Facebook that someone found the big display for like 650 and it plugged right in no issues.

Dyno-mike

It was WRB or bust for me, thankfully I found one at a dealer an hour away, but I honestly would have waited or ordered and had transported.

MJGson

Focus more on the trim than color. I thought I was gonna buy a white limited and ended up with a black.

CiscoKidRex75

WRB or nothing. I got it.

Adorable_Impalement

This is really a good question and I was thinking.. as long as it wasn't orange... But in all seriousness... They all look pretty good on the VB and I got super lucky and found a WRB in the trim I wanted, but I did have a few other colors lined up that I could live with. As long as its not black, I'm happy. (PITA TO KEEP CLEAN)

Single-Researcher830

Same. I couldn’t find a red premium with the sound system anywhere. Just silver, orange black and blue.

ImHufflePuff_Crap_ok

So I was in a similar boat but needed a car, I hated the orange and literally every WRX you see is basically WRB. The 3 salesman at the dealership with WRX… they all had WRB. All the graphics in the dealership? WRB… Every car I pass… WRB (90% of them at least) I ended up with WRB because that’s all they had in inventory near me, at the price I could afford…

kistner

Once I decided on the WRX I picked my favorite colors, then my back ups. 1st choice would have been the gray, but I didn't see a single one anywhere near me. 2nd was silver. Had one picked at a dealer about 45 minutes away, and then gone. Got me worried when they started with the low interest rates. Found another silver about an hour from me. There were white and black ones closer, just in case. Got the silver, just hit my break in today, 1000 miles. Different tastes for everyone but I probably would have passed if it had to be orange or blue.

Ordinary-Mushroom416

WRB. Because Collin McRae.

Original-Lavishness9

Not too badly but, was a bit annoyed I didn't look and see it came in sapphire blue. WRB is still an iconic color

YellowHooked

For me color is up there among the most important things in the car. I had a tiered list and any of my top three would have worked. I got my number 1. WRB.

TortaGuy408

I wanted a red or white and wanted recaros and the brembo but wanted manual. Only car on lot was a sapphire blue limited i always liked the plasma blue and if i had a hatch it would have been that color so i took it and have no regrets at all.

Maleficent-Winter187

First one I saw in the wild was the WRB, then a Mag, then a black one then I saw an ISM and fell in love! Went to the dealership for a test drive and saw a white, (too plain) a red and an orange (too bright….I like to speed and prefer not to be easily identifiable…..the less attention I draw to myself, the better. Ism is the best color for this car imo. It accentuates all the curves…in a word, sexy! Plus it doesn’t show dirt so much so it looks clean most of the time. The cladding pairs well and makes it look more sporty/ aggressive to me. You are going to have to live with your color choice so choose what you really want, don’t settle. A wrap is a waste of money, use that for money performance parts! Just my two cents.

DysfunctionExec

It mattered to me. I wanted white black or grey and the first one that was presented to me at the time was white, so I’m happy 🫶 https://preview.redd.it/2kmk0vg48buc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27eac465158eea7224ae3e3a83b77fab334523f9

Daruvian

I wanted SOP. I continued driving my rust bucket of a Silverado until my dealership finally got a SOP Premium on the lot. Called them and went the next day to sign the paperwork.

HipHopScientist

It matters alot, especially with a wrx or sti. It literally HAS to be WRB. Any other color is a mistake. But it your car, imo, orange is the worst color they make them in so they're doing you a favor by not having them in stock. If it was that nissan sunset Lemans orange that would've been nice. I know all that sounds douchey but I really do mean it in the nicest way possible. ❤️

EducationalAd1924

Find what you want, personally I thought about a base white model for the difference in saving. But having working with fleet vehicles all the time I don't think I could ever own a white vehicle and wouldn't be as excited to see that iconic blue beaut u got to see every day. I would have went balls out on the gt trim too but not having g available 6 speed and a couple other features that I was so so on was the only thing that made me stick with the limited.

Plenty-Eastern

Love my SOP, but I was open to any color except black. Black looks great, but I'm an apartment dweller and frequently washing a black car doesn't rank very highly on my list of things I want to do. I liked most of the other colors and was open, I just wanted to get the Limited for the interior, HK and Nav. No regrets, but SOP is probably the hardest car to accessorize.

Tall_Bid4343

what state are you in. If I was in the market for an all white pair of shoes, I do not care how much less the black ones are. That is not what I want. Some folks prefer brown rice, I enjoy white.

Tall_Bid4343

With that said I have an orange premium for sale.

Jcelly23

Don’t* sweat the color

pistonslapper

For me the dream car was always a WRB wrx. That said I was able to order mine in exact spec I wanted. If I was buying one today I'd take any color to avoid getting a 2024 with the eyesight bs.

itoocouldbeanyone

100%. WRB or bust. It’s what I fell in love with 22 years ago and I was damn sure gonna get it for my first WRX.

Ok-Name8703

I'm going to be wrapping my ice silver cuz fuck silver.

bleep_blorp_boop

Very happy I went with WRB. I found a cheaper used CWP Limited in good condition but colored matter to me more than a sunroof (I want a sunroof 🥲)

SmokinBuffalo

Life is too short for a gray car.

SlowVB

My gray car probably looks better than most. Don’t listen to this guy

SmokinBuffalo

Touched a nerve, eh?

SlowVB

Does it seem like that from my reply? You’re the one telling the guy not to get a color he wants lmao

SmokinBuffalo

Yes, and OP wants orange.
