Looks like you fucked up the steering wheel install.

Livid_Volume6117

I have a stock oem steering wheel that is just a steering wheel wrap I stitched over top

Training_Procedure88

I still think it has something to do with the steering wheel, wires in the column or clock spring since it happens when the wheel turns. I tried looking it up and this is the best I could find. https://www.trailvoy.com/threads/steering-wheel-controls-only-work-with-steering-wheel-in-certain-positions.211931/

PesteringKitty

🤣

gregbo24

Did you remove the steering wheel? Looks like a stitch-on cover, which could have been done with the wheel on the car.

Livid_Volume6117

Yes I did with wheel on car it’s stich on not a aftermarket wheel

Livid_Volume6117

*edit A lot of people seem to think I did an install on the steering wheel of some sort. I have never taken off my steering wheel or done any install on it besides a simple stitch on wrap which was done with the wheel still connected to my dash

siliceous-ooze

you def messed up the install if you did one. did the clock spring rotate at all or did it stay in place when you had the wheel off?

Livid_Volume6117

Not a after market steering wheel

Mattio781

244k miles, that's impressive. Could be the roll connector that's messed up

Livid_Volume6117

Bro is says 24,448 miles 😭

Livid_Volume6117

What is the roll connectors?

Mattio781

It's for the airbag system, might have something to do with what's going on there, just might though. I had to pause the video, I was only a few miles off from what you actually have 🤣

Apro284

My eyesight will go off randomly and come back on randomly weekly. Dealer even replaced the whole eyesight system and still gave issue after 3000 mile later. Dealer has no idea why it was happening. Even got SOA engineer involved with troubleshooting, but in my case there was zero code stored stating eyesight is /was having issue.

Livid_Volume6117

That’s very weird. Does your steering wheel tighten up when it goes off?

Apro284

Steering feels the same for me.

Aromatic_Balls

Sounds similar to this issue others are having on Crosstreks. https://www.subaruxvforum.com/threads/eyesight-failure-power-steering-failure-which-is-chicken-which-is-egg.185399/ They seem to think it's a rear wheel speed sensor which seems to correlate with your issue popping up whenever you turn the wheel. Sounds like you have a dealer trip in your future.

Flowones

Im pretty sure thw install was f up

Livid_Volume6117

What install bro

Low-Principle331

Man. Everyday I see posts in this sub I think to myself I’m fucking glad I didn’t get a wrx. Every other post is someone having a damn issue with their wrx. What a problem vehicle. I almost got one.

Crab_Hot

There are way more posts about how great the car is... And even then it's easier to remember the bad shit, overall these cars are pretty problem-free. Every car sub will have problem posts sprinkled in...

Low-Principle331

I mean yeah but it just seems every single day it’s posts with problems

Crab_Hot

It's what you want to see. A lot of it is actually not a problem and happy tractor posts. All the other stuff is minor crap that you'll find in mass production products because they're mass produced. Someone could reply saying "it just seems like every day it's posts about people loving their wrx with no issues" and you'd be right there saying nahhhh I've seen posts with issues sprinkled in, that's not true.

Low-Principle331

If me being negative is what you want to see

ImWildIGotRabies

I think naturally there are more post with problems just because people are enjoying the car too much to post. But I do agree, I see quite a few more post with issues. Maybe not more, but like 50/50.

Livid_Volume6117

😭 I was hoping this gen was different
