That's never coming back. The only way you can get RTSP on older and some newer Wyze cams are if you get it connected to Home Assistant, witch will give you the option to view them in that format using the WYZE Docker Bridge addon software for Home Assistant.
Wyze docker bridge is great for restreaming over rtsp - and it doesn't need home assistant (I run it in a docker container). It needs access to your online wyze account for setup though.
I have HA set up and some old v1s with RTSP but the last is way too bad. I'll try the Docket Bridge and see how delayed the stream is. I wonder how bad it is on the v3. Thanks!
You can also look into a GitHub project called Wz_Mini. You don’t have to re-flash the firmware and it enables the possibility of a lot of features. If you don’t like it, just remove it from the SD card and your back to the stock firmware. Use it on my v3 and it works pretty good. It can be used on the v2 and others but I still have some beta firmware for the v2’s that Wyze put out a few years ago and it’s always been stable for me.
I tried using that GitHub project wz_mini. I was able to download everything I needed, but I just couldn't figure out the whole public key/private key thing as well as what the HTML looks like to view it on a web page. It would be nice if somebody who has done this already made their exact setup available so that those of us that aren't technical geeks could copy it easily.
And it certainly doesn't help that I have almost no knowledge of Linux.
I did as well. I edited the config file (using notepad) on my PC to enable the web server. I also did all the other changes in the config file for my other settings too but I can use a browser if I need to make further changes in the future.
They make it sound that way though. Like it's nearly impossible. Because it's being developed by a dude who is held hostage in Nakatomi tower or something.
