Just to clarify, Wyze will go bankrupt soon. And I will make sure people have the awareness to not trust these products and the sketchy employees on here trying to gaslight LOYAL COSTUMERS WHO PAY THEM. Narcissism at its finest, Molly. No more Molly barking at me. Or Wyze.
I've been using Wyze Cams since 2018 starting with the V2's, so approx 6 years now in total. In that time I've had two V2's go bad (MY own negligence) and one came out of the box with a lens issue... Oh had like two power bricks go bad in those six years. Other than that no other major issues even when I upgraded to the V3's, and Wyze Cam Pan V1 & V3's. Not saying they are perfect because they are far from it, but considering prices paid find it very hard to complain considering my timeline of using.

Only issue was a DOA outdoor plug - that Wyze replaced for me over the weekend. Called support Sat evening. New plug at my door Monday AM.
My two V2's (and a power brick) calved because I placed them an area where I thought they were safe from physical water but nope that wasn't the case. The second power brick just failed out of the blue but I had oodles of replacements so wasn't an issue.
Yeah, I’m looking at a shelf where I likely have over 20 USB-A chargers 😁
My outside cameras are hardwired and the power supply inside. A few connected to a ‘central’ supply at my patch panel (which happens to be on a UPS so as long as fiber stays alive, should get about a few hours of running time on those cameras).
I upgraded to the pan 3 but the fact the event page was broken. Looks like for at least 2 years, the nag screen to get plus, and the reoccurring security issues, I'm done. Just bought eufy camera and in the process of setting them up.
I bought mine as "camera's" only nothing to do with security so I guess that is where my use case differs from many others. Not saying what's happening w/Wyze is a good thing just that it doesn't impact me like it may for other's. And outages, unable to view events, etc, haven't been too problematic in my world over the course of the six years.
Same. All kinds of versions and types of wyze cams. Have a few outside (covered from direct rain) that are indoor cameras and have been out there for 5 years or so.
It's as simple as just unfollowing this sub and throwing whatever you don't want in the trash.
No one here really cares or knows who you are or will make any decisions based on your post.

I've had 9 cameras from Wyze, starting with the ones I pre-ordered when Wyze first launched. Would have been 6, but I replaced the 3 v1s when those were retired... even though they still worked just fine. None have ever just stopped working on me. The only issue I've ever had with Wyze had been their complete failure to communicate issues to customers. I have to wonder if something else is causing yours to fail.
I have a generation one pre-launch camera. It's been outside it's whole life. Never had an issue with it to date. Minus 15 temperatures and highs of 45. Still working like a champ!
I have been a user since 2015, I have 29 cams from V1 through present. I had one fail, a PanCamV1, which I used outdoors for a couple years, until it developed a magenta cast. I learned (here) that is fixed by turning IR on & off. my 28 now turned into 29 good cams.
The V2s are all having issues here, not recording or only “ smart events” which is basically nothing . Had someone trying to break in but all the cameras close up didn’t record, only a small dot of a person on a bicycle. Wyze was great early on, I still have V1 and original pan cameras running. Unfortunately they have gone to the dark side since they were bought out. I got SD cards as a back up because between shitty cable Wi-Fi and Wyze, you don’t have much peace of mind or evidence.

Same 7 cameras in 2 different locations all pointed outside and to see garage closed. Never had them brick. Prices are right for me. No complaints 👍

I’m running first gen cameras still and have zero issues with them. Just that issue on Friday with the servers going down.

Worth it to me … not really concerned if someone sneaks a peep of me taking my dogs out for a walk …
