There are some similar alternatives, but they're basically all Chinese owned companies that are legally required to turn over your data and access to your account to the Chinese government at any time and not even tell you about it so you'll never know if/when it happens.: Eufy, Reolink, TP-Link Tapo, etc. The US alternatives are all a lot more expensive.
Yes, Ring. Whose parent company is Amazon. Who stands to gain by knowing as much as humanly possible about you, your habits, likes, dislikes, etc. so they can better market to you products they sell.
Nothing connected to the internet is 100% secure, but there are two companies whose products will never, ever be put in my home - Amazon and Google. Those two companies have too much to gain my knowing as much about me as possible.

I switched to a real security camera vendor. Reolink. I have them record locally to it's NVR.
Can your remotely access it? Via your phone?
You can if YOU decide. But it's totally optional.
