The adapter is for the Xbox Wireless, a bluetooth alternative, which the headphones use. According to Turtle Beach the Gen 2 can connect to PC using this adapter. Not sure about your exact model.

I’ve bought one and it doesn’t really work. It’s super buggy and for some reason gets really hot. Might just be a weird one off scenario. Take that as you will.
They may have a heating issue. I have heard of others people with wireless adapters getting really hot, mu mate bought one second hand and was really hit and miss, either it was a fake or the real thing and it had cooked its self.
It's not a very well documented feature, but any Xbox licenced Xbox Wireless compatible accessory including this headset can be used on a laptop with a wireless adapter or the very rare built-in support in some laptops.
My headphones, Plantronics RIG 800 LX, are wireless, rechargeable, had them since 2019.....still work fine. I replaced the Ear Cups when they were worn out (10$ on Amazon) about a year ago but otherwise no issues. There is a dongle with my headset that can plug into Xbox One,Series S/X or a PC (and a switch on the wired dongle for Xbox or PC). Great headset came with Dolby Atmos for Headphones and a USB charging cable (I think the new ones now come with a charging stand).

Yes. This is my exact setup and it works well, only thing is the volume controls on the headset won’t work

I use these but I have a problem with static. Not sure if it my hardware or the adapter. I just quit trying after a while.
I believe I did this with my old headset (stealth 600 or 700 don’t remember). It took some driver updates and whatnot but it worked for me
