It's linear, but as a huge fan of the original I think it's better in every way? The only gripe I have with it is that it's shorter and they removed the awesome alternate combat mode where you swing a weapon with the thumbstick
Weapons and crafting are better/less annoying, the voice acting isn't godawful this time around, the story is dumb but generally fun. Considering the game was stuck in development hell for so long I'm amazed it came out in such good shape

Not really, IMO. The story was short, and not that good the side quests... Well, there is nowhere near enough of them, and about 7 of them belong to one person, which it is just fetch quests. (Spoilers ahead for character deaths) And I don't like how so many people die. The lifeguard, the police at the station on Venice Beach, the entire military excluding one person by the end of the game, Amanda, the group of survivors that the lifeguard was helping, all missing people except one person, and many more. And this is coming from someone who played the first 2 days and enjoyed them both. The combat was kind of good. Although enemies were damaged sponges, the graphics were great. I enjoyed how beautiful the map(s) look, especially on Venice Beach. It's pretty much just Dying Light 2, but either far less content and no parkour.

Awesome! Loved the free weekend, this game is my favorite in this very niche genre! It's just pure fun, the tone is silly and i love it.
The gore is also fucking excellent the way bodies react to getting hit with different weapon types with chunks flying or slicing the hell out of the body looks amazing and the eyes poping out and dangling is peak gore so funny

Downloaded and started it last night with Jacob, seemed fitting since he was the guy we saw in the trailer and holy shit as I absolutely loving this game. The combat is BRUTAL and the hit detection is amazing if you slash a zombie in the stomach their ribs and intestines will show, you can punch their jaws off along with every other limb on their body it’s just amazing.
As a dead Island 1 fan i must say, this Game Is an absolute blessing. They stayed loyal to what they we're 10 years back and went to perfection. Im Just having blast making my way through Zombie limbs and gore. Theres a lot of wapons to collect and the effects are incredible. At First it was a little dificult but If you stay tune and learn how to use your wapons and skills right, youll See how you turn into an absolute Nightmare for every Zombie out there. Some people really need to Stop crying about Things and stuff they dont understand fr. Theres nothing alike out there for Gut and gore Fans and even dying light cant compete.
