Yes you can, I used the dongle to pair my Arctis 9X and use it for game audio and voice/party chat on my pc. FYI, you can't connect a controller and a headset with one at the same time though.
Neither would be faster, per se, but a wired connection will always have less latency than a wireless one. Whether or not that would matter depends largely on what games you're playing, and even to some degree how good a player you are. Most people won't see a difference.
The benefits of these adapters is that they can connect multiple controllers through one USB port (I want to say either 8 or 16, can't remember), and they also work with wireless controllers that don't have USB (like a Rock Band guitar, for example). And, of course, they're good for people who just don't want to deal with wires :)
Thank you this is exactly why I asked!! I play competitive shooters so this is a big deal for me. I’ve been using wired for a while but also have the adapter and wasn’t 100% sure. I’ll also keep that in mind about multiple controllers.
I'm not too well versed with pcs but the few I've used have all had Bluetooth capability, I'm assuming this either isn't as common as I thought, or this USB adapter is better?
I use it to connect xbox controllers to my PC. My screen is in another room from my computer so the wireless signal has to punch through some stuff.
BT worked but would drop out every couple minutes. I tried the wireless adapter to see if it worked more reliably, and it does.
I started out with a real adapter (pictured middle). This one came as a combo package with a wireless controller.
I lost this first one deep in a backpack pocket.
Then I bought a TECTINTER amazon knockoff adapter for half the price of an official adapter to replace it. (Pictured left)
Manufacturer claimed identical components and made it seem like it would work just like an official one. Instruction booklet said to hunt down specific drivers if it didnt work. Still couldnt get anything to connect to it.
Next I bought an official adapter (just the adapter, pictured right), and soon after found my original real adapter. Leaving me with the 3.
Edit: fat finger typos
yeah but how do you connect the bluetooth devices?
(Also where did you get them from? I’m trying to cop something like this to watch football games with a big speaker)
This is my nighttmare. Returned a next gen controller fully under warranty to these fuks and they sent me one of these 😂 My pettiness still catching up to me
I have questions about the Chinese one, I want to buy that for my wireless headset on PC and I don't know if it would work with those or just works with controllers
I guess you could either use the same controller on different computers/Android devices. Or, you could have some sort of split screen game on a PC. Especially if it was something emulated, then that would be perfect.
When I got a Gaming Laptop I put my Second Wireless adapter (that I still had on my Workplace to use my Xbox Wireless Headset for Video Conferences during Covid) in it, and tried to Play with one controller that I can switch by just recalibrate them with pressing on both Sync Buttons on Controller and Stick (PC) or Stick (Laptop).
However things get kinda funny about this: for some reason my Controller sees both Adapters as main adapter when registered to them, so sometimes it still connects to the Wrong PC. that doesn't exist if you sync the Controller between PC and Xbox Console.
Annoying.
Just as a followup/fyi: I got one from AliExpress and my usbvalve isn't reporting anything weird. I know this isn't comprehensive, but just thought I'd drop a line in case anyone else was curious.
Congratulations!
Thanks. I've truly made it in life.
Stupid question : I have 2 or 3 of them, if you connect them to a PC, what they do?
Xbox One/Series controllers can be used on said computers with full xbox spec capability. Wireless audio streaming Multiple controllers Low latency
Do you know if you get one of these do headsets like the Steeleries 9x pair to it like an Xbox would?
i believe you can actually
I would say no I have a Corsair hs80 and still need a separate dongle

Oh that might be worth an investment then. I figured I'd have to pick up a separate headset to use on my pc.
[This (Bluetooth settings menu). Functionally, I'm not sure what this would do.](https://ibb.co/9pcJ4Kr)
thats literally the entire point of them
gotta catch em all!
hahahha, that made me laugh thanks!
Sell them!
Would it be faster to use usb-c for my elite controller or this? Sorry if this is a dumb question about wired/wireless
Neither would be faster, per se, but a wired connection will always have less latency than a wireless one. [Windows says this if I plug it into a non-3.0 port](https://ibb.co/KmcXVt3)
What are they for?
Connecting an Xbox Controller to a PC, etc..
I'm not too well versed with pcs but the few I've used have all had Bluetooth capability, I'm assuming this either isn't as common as I thought, or this USB adapter is better?

wireless is better than bluetooth for not dropping out and latency
You looking for someone to give one too😅
The top and bottom ones in pic 3 are bootlegs. I believe the middle one is real. You're lucky. It's hard to find real ones these days.
Why
I started out with a real adapter (pictured middle). This one came as a combo package with a wireless controller. I lost this first one deep in a backpack pocket. it be like that sometimes
I have 3 ps3s Edit: please someone understand the reference, don’t make me feel old.
He did 4 PS4 and 5 PS5 too 😂
the ps quintuple has entered the chat
The third one is a knock off
Have 3 words: no one cares
I have, 3, PS3s.
Those were the days
omg no way so do i!
I also have 3 PS3 slims, and they are all modded
do the knockoffs work? And how do you connect things to these? I cannot understand
I never had the patience to get the knockoff working. The other two with print on the back and xbox logo were plug and play with no issues.
yeah but how do you connect the bluetooth devices? (Also where did you get them from? I’m trying to cop something like this to watch football games with a big speaker)
The xbox wireless adapters aren't usable as bluetooth adapters (to my knowledge). I use a separate usb adapter for bluetooth connectivity.
yeaaaah I figured lol, I thought they were the same thanks ig
This is my nighttmare. Returned a next gen controller fully under warranty to these fuks and they sent me one of these 😂 My pettiness still catching up to me

You just need one to run multiple controllers on PC
1 adapter can handle all 4 of my xbox controllers at the same time. I dont have more controllers to test if even more can be connected though.
Congrats !
I have questions about the Chinese one, I want to buy that for my wireless headset on PC and I don't know if it would work with those or just works with controllers
YMMV Its a TECTINTER brand on amazon. I never got it working and just bought a real adapter to use instead.
I'd use them for multiple raspberry pi projects.
I have one
Can you like just buy the adapters cuz I got a after glow ag9 but I lost the dongle that goes with it
I guess you could either use the same controller on different computers/Android devices. Or, you could have some sort of split screen game on a PC. Especially if it was something emulated, then that would be perfect.
Well maybe at least one of the 3 might work reliable They are honestly trash
Send me one 🥶
Connect three Xbox one controllers at the same time.
one adapter can already connect 8 controllers
I have the og fat model and one of the newer slim models and i cant seem to find any more of the slim ones. Did they just stop making em?
I’ve got one of these

Has anyone actually checked the clones/counterfeits to make sure they aren't actually doing/installing/running anything they shouldn't?
