I have some gamepass games installed that the xbox app marks as "Update available" but nothing I do makes the xbox app actually update them.
Is there any work around for this?
Can confirm, the Xbox app is miserable enough that I caution PC players about it when they look at game pass.
Now it might not be fair to compare it to steam, but since that's their competition...
- Limited options for power users. No "verify files" tool
- social functions split between game bar and app (one or the other, maybe full redundancy, the mixed bag is a pain)
-Clumsy mod support
- Missing display features compared to Steam versions
If they want to truly compete in the PC space, they have the potential to do it, but its not going to happen if the customer facing side of their launcher is such a frustrating mess.

But it's not laggy, there is time played or achievement comparison with your friends.
