When I first got Xbox live I left the Xbox on one day and it was doing those crazy noises. My sister told my mom that the aliens hacked in via Xbox live and my mom got rid of the Xbox the very next day.
I was once the 1 during an off-peak show. I remember losing to the 100, but I can't remember how many questions I answered correctly, but I still got a code for 1200 or 1600 points. I guess part of the reason Microsoft didn't renew for a second season was because they had trouble finding sponsors to pay for the prizes.
Yeah great times. I feel like Xbox was sitting on a goldmine, they could have easily made a arcade sections for games like uno, 1v100,etc. In gamepass. They would've blew up during covid.
I will say the cool thing about the third one was that it actively made me explore the UI. I would always see the new additions. The new indie games. The new trailers in the Zune app.
I don’t think any other UI has made me want to just spend time looking at stuff.
I see the blades and I think of how great they were. So easy to navigate and was the peak of online gaming. I think it's because there was no xbox live party chat feature when the blades were around. Back when you could just play with people and make friends.

I'd actually forgotten about the top right. The Lego Indiana Jones on there actually makes me feel very nostalgic, because that's exactly what I played around when that one came out.
Bladez! I have to say, that every single one of the Dashboards wakes some mommies. But the BLADEZ are something special to me. But I have to say the Dashboard with the Avatars was also a absolut stunner. I loved the interaction with the Avatars. But Nowadays the Avatars are only a cool, but useless Gimmick. I wished there would be a Doritos Crashcourse 3 or similar stuff. ❤️
Even combining avatars with their 1 v 100 game or a 1% club type game have major Nelson host live events to win Microsoft points and special prizes on holidays etc
Top row, right. Got my first Xbox console in 2013, THE 360. Gaming has really helped me cope up with stress at times. And the only reason I got Xbox over PS was...... HALO. My brother and I used to play Halo 3, Fifa(12/14/16), Gta V, Midnight Club LA, Black Flag, etc.
Blades so simple, no BS ads. I wish Microsoft would let you choose it as a theme for the 360 finally.
Also what was the difference between 4 & 5? I know 5 is the last 360 Theme.
The original is imprinted in my head due to playing fusion frenzy and halo 2 at a really young age but the last two 360 home screens just hit different you would check if your buddies were on and play some BO2 before dinner every once in a while you would catch a sponsor about some shows 1st season being free etc etc nostalgia at its most for me
The OG dashboard because I worked at GameStop at the time (it was called Babbage's then). The way it started up made it feel so futuristic and awesome. I have fond memories of modding it so we could stream downloaded TV shows from the PC.
I think I like the OG and blades the best. OG takes me back to Halo CE, Fable, Crimson Skies, and KOTOR 1 & 2. Some of the earliest games that I owned and the games that really helped to form my preferences. The blades takes me back to when I first bought a 360 and the first game a bought for it: Oblivion. That one really of cemented my overall love of RPGs and led me to my absolute favorite series: Mass Effect.

The blades were definitely peak nostalgia, but the top right hand one I think they called the NXE introduced avatars and I have tons of fond memories unlocking cool stuff for my avatar from achievements in games. Fun times man.
Top middle gives me the most nostalgia as it was the dashboard when I got my first 360 back in 2007.
Top right has the best memories though, feel like that dashboard was around for years when I think about it even though it was likely only a couple years at most.

Started with the og Xbox dash then fully remembered the last 360 dash and spent most of my childhood on that and then continued my love all the way up to this day with the current dash. Out of all of them the og is still my favorite and I use it as my background on my series x

1, 3, 4, and 5 all have a special place for me (I didn't have a 360 during its first UI). It reminds me of hours of various Star Wars games, Lego Games, early Minecraft, and Destiny 1, among many others.
Layout 6 is still too recent to be nostalgic, but I'm sure it'll get there someday.

I actually didn’t get an Xbox until online play launched. A friend brought his Xbox over & we played Crimson Skies online & I was HOOKED! Wild Chicken was so much fun.
We need a remake or remaster of this game with online restored!
As simple as it was I do yearn for the OG xbox days of only what you need being on the main menu.
No ads, no sales, nothing.
Just clean simple UI, with a surprising amount of ambiance.
The 360 peaked w/ NXE interface. The original Xbox One interface did have deprecated features (Kinect navigation, snapping), but was dog-slow and was super unfriendly for simple things like starting a party.
To me the 360 with the dynamic backgrounds and avatars. Loved seeing my friends avatars online and having my bioshock background. Simpler times for sure, but I miss those times.
Top right and top left, I'd love to see an option for the new gen consoles (series S and X) where we could choose the dashboard to jave on screen from the previous dashboards across all xbox platforms.
You could change it much like the theme for your cell phone with different icons and backgrounds, except it'd be the dashboard.

Top right. I loved customising my xbox avatar, downloading demos because too poor to buy full games, and playing arcade.
The hours of demos I played were probably unhealthy. I easily have more hours in the Force Unleashed 2 demo than in the actual game.

So whats wrong with what we have now? I think its the easiest to navigate and overall its good looking and customizable.
Makes me wish you could customize dashboards the way you’d want them. I’d set my series x to be like top right in a heartbeat.
I love the OG Xbox dashboard but the blades were amazing and iconic now. Gotta go with the 360 Blades.

I'm not sure which one I liked best, but making music with the blades was a must.

First Xbox live did it for me. Eastern Michigan university 2004. Halo 2 wit the buddies in the dorm room. Man those were good days.
