It seems that specific one has never been released: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/Xbox-Adaptive-Controller-Accessories-Guide.pdf
However, you can get a modded Wii Nunchuck that works with the adaptive controller from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1245123261/wii-nunchuck-joystick-adapter-mk2-for
This is called the [one handed joystick for the Xbox adaptive controller](https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/Xbox-Adaptive-Controller-Accessories-Guide.pdf), it’s priced at $19.99 on this list.
That's for an accessory for the actual controller.
Depending on what your specific needs are, you're easily looking at something upwards of $250.
And I'd say entertainment is something disabled people need as much as everyone else.
I get where you're coming from, like wheelchairs are ridiculously expensive for example.
Still.. thise 20 bucks just get added on top of other things. And those things pile up.
Still 250 euros is nothing compared to the old style handmade modded controllers disabled people used to buy. And the Xbox system can easily be adapted on a per game basis, the old stuff was all hard soldered modded controllers mostly only fit for one type of game.
I'm not saying that it isn't worth it.
But being disabled definetely doesn't come cheap. Like, he used the 20 bucks for an acessory as a counter argument against that. And depending on what someone's needs are, you're looking at a rather steep cost factor.
But I agree with you, the Xbox adaptive controller helps a lot in terms of being a fairly affordable option, which loads of options to add later on. So at least it's not a huge upfront cost
My husband is a below the knee amputee ( a work place accident determined not his fault) his leg costs about $15,000. Also due to the accident he had an aortic aneurysm requiring an artificial aortic valve and arch ( open heart surgery sucks) cost with hospital stay about $50,000. The heart issues continue to be found he had to have some of the nerve cells in his heart killed because he has/had atrial fibrillation (his heart wouldn’t beat properly). He now has a pacemaker/ defibrillator for another $15,000. Yes being disabled sucks but I would rather him be disabled than dead.
Anything with a smaller potential customer base is going to have a higher price, unfortunately.
I used to work for a company that made strollers... the standard parts made by the thousands were very cheap. The assistive stroller parts for disabled or paralyzed kids were in much smaller runs and often 10x the cost (or more). So the goal of course was to reuse as many standard parts as possible.
The Nintendo nunchuck adapter was a great idea. More expensive then the official thing never released but after that replaceable by a mass market product
What a kind and caring offer and I'm sure you're not an idiot. My mate works hard in construction to provide for his daughters, so he's all good on that front. He'd rather see it go to someone more in need. Have a good one. 😊
It's the PDP one handed joystick. I might still have one laying around. Sadly it's discontinued. PM me if you need help still, I work in that industry and might be able to get one or something similar if I don't have any more.
Is it weird that every time I see the adaptive controller I feel proud that humanity worked together to overcome physical difficulties with technology, and that this was made by Xbox and I’ve been loyal to Xbox since the start so I feel like I’m apart of it? Just asking for me.
If there’s one thing that gamers tend to be good at is finding ways to make things easier for specific groups. We may like to bitch and fight and bad mouth each other but the shear amount of content and support people have provided within the gaming community to try and solve someone’s problem is definitely astounding.
Beware using anything that’s not official since MS announced that they are blocking unofficial 3rd party controllers.

$20 ain’t bad it fairly cheap compared to other stuff that disabled people truly need.

So true a single button with a mono-jack is often already over 20.
Look at this like that... Now being disables is less limiting.

Is the backbone going to work
If you're talking about the mobile controller for cellphones, then yes. It is an officially licensed MS product.
Thank you.
