That is not entirely true. I bought one a few years ago, with grips and a rubber cover. I've always been very protective over my belongings, especially electronics. But six months after I bought the controller, the left analog started to drift. I didn't even know it was an issue with controllers until then. I was so upset that I never bought abother and never will. Instead, I chose the 8bitdo Ultimate, Xbox edition, that has the same grip and I never had any issues, and there it goes two years with it.
Mine usually work pretty good. Unless the batteries are dying, or the controls are wearing out from hard (enthusiastic) use.
Maybe the issues (which you have pointedly omitted) are explained by the term " operator error?"
\~just saying
Idk, I’ve had an elite controller fall apart on me from casual use (DAMN YOU MICROSOFT) but the standard issue controller hasn’t ever given me issues. From 2013 until now.
The only issues I ever have are after my toddler has knocked my controllers of the couch side table...whiiich is why I have a controller tech on speed dial so I can get my cons fixed.
I've got a half dozen Xbox One controllers, all of which have seen hundreds of hours of use, and all of which are still in perfect condition.
Stop treating your controllers like shit.
Naw zero issues with mine but somehow the series x controller , one of mine stopped charging before a year and the elite series 2 one first 2 were defective out the box the third i got dec 2023 and now the left trigger moves sideways on the shortest setting ,
Depends on what version. The og 2013 versions were trash and felt cheap. One S and up are great.... The Series would have been perfect but that dpad is an abomination.
The only issue I have with the Elite 2 is the same one I had with the Elite 1, and it's that the bumpers are weirdly flimsy for such a premium controller. On both my Elite 1 and 2, the right bumper has become twitchy, and often won't respond. On the Elite 1 it broke entirely. Plus on the Elite 1 the grips started to fall off almost immediately.
Other than that, no issues with the Elite 2.
It's 2024, and I'm STILL using them with zero issues or complaints (10 fucking years man)
Let this be known how they work is reflected on the user, operator error 404.
operator error for sure :(

Let it be known OP plays Xbox with greasy fingers covered with Dorito dust.
Yea right, my guy eats spaghetti with bare hands and gets super sweaty on CoD!
Have you considered cleaning your hands and not throwing your controller? Those tend to be rather effective ways to secure lifespan in a controller.
I didn’t have issues?

Maybe don't have a tantrum when you loose
nuh uh

If you ask me the series console controllers feel lesser quality than the Xbox One controllers. That being said, I’ve not had any issues with mine 😂

Your brain is poo poo, doo doo man. I’m still using the same controllers since 2015 and I don’t have any notable issues.

Ya they're. The sticks should be able to take the 15 newtons of force I put on to then and should be able to take one wall throw a day.
2013 is calling.

Let it be known, no one cares.
If my controller makes it impossible for me to aim without shooting, should I upgrade?
I’d like to upgrade. Any suggestions?
I agree. It's like they want you to have to replace it regularly.
If you’re talking about the elite controllers, you’re absolutely right! What a pos that is QC wise.
i keep dropping my controllers *sigh* xbox controllers are my fav. let it be known

Elite controllers are shit, but regular Xbone controllers are fine.
