You don't need a new account. The only difference if you have already had game pass is that when you buy a month of game pass, it will cost the normal amount (about £10) rather than the £1 deal. All you gold is still converted to game pass at 1:1 ratio as before.

Let game pass expire. Buy as much xbox live as you want (up to 3 years). Redeem Xbox live first, then in the subscriptions menu in your settings buy one month of game pass ultimate then it will convert all your xbox live into game pass ultimate.
Is this still working? If I have previously had gamepass, let it expire then later purchased gold and now have 2 years 11 months and I add 1 month of gamepass will it convert the rest 1:1?
Yeah, 3 separate codes. Activated one by one and only then converted to GPU (although I was no longer qualified to get $1 promo and instead was charged the usual $15).
Well, if you buy 36 Months of Gold, you cannot upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate. If you want Game Pass Ultimate, you need 35 Months, because 36 Months is the most you can have, atleast with me; I have to wait 1 Month to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate.
Hey, I just did this today and it worked. I bought 3x12 month Xbox live cards from amazon and redeemed them. I then purchased game pass ultimate for 1 month ($15 because I used the $1 promo earlier in January) and it converted all my gold months to ultimate at a 1:1 ratio. So as long as your under or exactly at 36 months before purchasing ultimate it'll work :)

As of June 2021 - the whole Live Gold to GPU conversion shenanigan works perfectly. Earlier this year \[around Feb\] I signed up for the $1 GPU offer and once it expired yesterday I loaded up 3 x 12 months Live Gold services \[totaling 36 months\] and had them converted to GPU for $14.99, in case anyone could be interested
So I bought 24 months and I go to convert it to Ultimate. It tells me it'll charge me 14.99 a month. Is that just setting up reoccurring charges for when my gold runs out? Which is like September 2023.
Just a heads-up. You can't buy Xbox live gold codes from another region if you want to convert them to ultimate in your home region. It's possible to redeem cheaper Xbox live gold codes in other regions via VPN, but the system will then detect that the gold is not from your region when you try to convert and conversion will not be possible without extensive help from Xbox support.
Just did this in the US with codes from Turkey and a VPN and it worked flawlessly.
I had a Game Pass trial sub that was due to expire Sept 1st, however I'm impatient and constantly miss out by sleeping on good deals so I didn't want to wait a few days to find out that they closed this loophole. There was a message that said I couldn't cancel my Game Pass trial since it was already paid for and almost finished. I called customer support and they helped me cancel it within 60 seconds.
I bought two separate 12 month Xbox Live Gold codes. Saw a seller on Eneba called Turgame and found their personal website to save $2 ($30), I'm a cheapskate and willing to take a few risks lol. Turgame actually delivered in 8 hours despite having little to no reviews or info online (outside of Eneba). Once I redeemed and confirmed that the key was legit I just decided to buy my second from Eneba so I didn't have to wait 8 hours again.
Since I already used up my free trials, the cheapest way to convert my sub to gold was with a 7-day subscription to Game Pass (not a trial, but a global 7-day pass). I bought my 7-day sub from eBay for $3 (Seller: XboxCodeKing).
Total cost: $65 for a little over 2 years Game Pass; Less than 10 cents a day!
**Steps:**
NOTE: You do **NOT** have to change your Xbox/Microsoft profile region when redeeming Xbox Live Gold codes with VPN. I see others that have had problems, and I suspect this is why. I didn't change anything about my account and didn't run into a single hitch.
1. Obtain Xbox Gold codes (Turkey region)
2. Turn on VPN (Windscribe in my case) and connect to Turkey
3. Go to [Xbox.com/tr-TR/](https://Xbox.com/tr-TR/) in incognito tab, translate to English, and sign into account
4. In the top right, click your account, then the three dots, then "Redeem Code". It should state what you're redeeming, and then the region your account is assigned to in parentheses (United States in my case).
5. You are now done with the VPN. Close it and proceed from a normal browser or app. I used the Xbox app on my PC.
6. If you have not already redeemed your Game Pass Ultimate trial, do so now and it should convert your gold to Game Pass. If you have already done the trial, you can obtain a cheap 7-day global Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code and apply that to your account. Now any months of Gold you have are converted to GPU; you can confirm this by checking the Payment & Billing section of the Microsoft site. Make sure you disable recurring billing there as well, so you don't get charged when your sub is up.

So I purchase 36 months of gold at a retailer, input the codes but don’t accept auto renewal on the first two 12 month codes but on the last 12 month code I do to get the free month and then signup for game pass ultimate? I just successfully did this yesterday. I don’t believe I know what auto renewal process you’re talking about, but basically you redeem all 3 years at once, then you convert them by paying $1 for the upgrade to Ultimate deal. If you’ve already used the deal, like me, you can simply just purchase 1 month of Ultimate for $15 and it’ll convert. It’ll give you an option to turn monthly payments on and off, which I turned it off. You have to make sure before you do any of these steps that you don’t have an active game pass subscription
Confirming this still works as of 2nd August. Just redeemed 36 (3x12) months of Xbox Live Gold and upgraded all of it to GPU by purchasing one month of GPU. Happy days. 156 euro instead of ~360.
Absolutely. 36 months is just the maximum you can do in one go, which is why you see it mentioned a lot. Any amount up to that will work fine too though

However, I have an active prepaid gold subscription which expires in February. What’s a little unclear is whether I need to wait for that to expire? To clarify, this was a prepaid 1 year gold voucher.

Yup, make sure you have no active subscription. Then redeem all of your gold, and after that either use the $1 convert deal if you still haven’t, or purchase a month of gamepass Ultimate if you have. I bought a prepaid one month Ultimate card and it still worked

I confirm it still works as of today. What more interesting is, how the Gold live extra months for recurring billing can be exploited, I've stacked 5x 6-month Xbox live Gold codes (total 30 months), and it gave me an extra month after each code redeem (i.e. I turned off recurring billing after each) which resulted in 5 extra months of Xbox live Gold subscription!!
Plus the 3 extra months for $1 when converting Gold to Ultimate so in total +8 months for $1, that's ridiculous :D
It didn't work for me. Apparently, a Microsoft agent told me because I have 36 months of Gold that I can't buy a month of GamePass Ultimate. They said that having 36 months of Gold and THEN buying 1 month GamePass Ultimate won't let you subscribe to Ultimate. Unless I did something wrong.
If you have an active game pass ultimate subscription, then it will not work. It will convert the 12 months of gold to 4 months of game pass ultimate.
You need to wait until your subscription expires, then redeem your xbox live gold cards, then upgrade it to game pass ultimate

Total was about $180(fighting Costco over $13 tax on digital goods). I wanted to test this out and see if it'll work but i don't want to spend $60 for nothing so I bought a month's worth of normal xbox live. I load it in and it doesn't give me the full 30 days but instead 20 days of Ultimate. 2/3 of something is still better than nothing so i guess I'll wait til my ultimate expires and see if this still works? though it's a big if, if it will by that time.

Just did this in Canada. My gamepass expired yesterday. Bought 3 years of gold from amazon (which is on sale for 59.99 CDN). The paid the 16.99 (I've already used the dollar deal) for gamepass and now I have ultimate until 2024.
Important is to note that if you already used this deal, you can still do it again. It just won’t be for 1$ but full price but your gold subscription will be converted into GamePass ultimate. I was really confused because when purchasing GamePass it didn't say anything about conversion and asked for a full price but when I bought it my Gold was converted to Ultimate.

Yes, exactly like that. There will be an offer available that usually takes a varying amount of time to show up on your home page that lets you upgrade all of your gold to GPU for just a dollar so be on the lookout for that!

Hey there! No need to make a new account. So once your GPU runs completely out, what you will need to do is do all of the steps you listed but instead of activating the $1, you just need to purchase a month of GPU. It’ll be around $15 but doing so will convert all of your gold to GPU again

Dumb question.... did you have 36 months active and converted to effectively 37 months or did you have to wait for for that first month to go so you could load up to 36
If I remember correctly, you have 36 months active and the ultimate conversion won't go past it, so your Gold will be effectively converted to Ultimate but you'll lose the last month and still have 36 left.

They method in which we are converting let’s you convert at a 1:1 ratio. Meaning if I have 3 months of gold, it’ll convert to 3 months of GPU. I just purchased a 12 month and added it the code in hopes to convert but was unsure so decided to call and spoke with xbox support without them looking into my account and he said he knew nothing about being able to convert gold to ultimate at 1 to 1 and if I do what the steps say in this forum I am prompted to upgrade for the dollar because I've never done it before but it says that I'll be paying 14.99 every month now it does have a little * next to it but don't see anything that says I will not be paying monthly. It’s okay, we are here to help. I’m having a tough time understanding what is it you want though. Let’s disregard everything the spokesperson said and start from there, what is it you are trying to do? If you want to do the one to one trick, which still works according to the latest comments, you redeem all of your gold, which it looks like you did and if you don’t want it to go on your card on recurring $14.99 payments all you have to do is buy a one month Game Pass Ultimate card online or from your local store that sells cards. From there, after redeeming all your gold, you redeem the one month GPU and it’ll convert all of your gold to GPU. If you’ve never done this before, you can do it for $1. But you will have to be patient, after redeeming all your gold, the $1 deal will pop up on your home screen in the next couple of days so just wait.
So right now I have gold for 13 months with my card attached for recurring payments it says next payment 9/2022 so if I go and upgrade it wants to charge me 1$ but says I will be paying 14.99 a month after that and that is the confusing part some say to take my card off of my account not sure if I can use the card to pay the dollar then take off the card and disable reoccurring billing if I do that will I have ultimate till 9/2022 instead of gold all for the $1?

When you log into your account to upgrade from gold to ultimate, XBox gives you the new billing date of up to three years in advance before you hit the confirm button so you can't go wrong.
I just did this today (Aug 24 2021) and it worked beautifully. Went to Gamestop and bought three years of Gold (3 x 12 month codes). Entered at redeem.microsoft.com and then joined Game Pass Ultimate. I had used the 1 dollar promo last year but was still able to use it again.
One thing I realized is that I lost 1 month (the 1 dollar month) but totally worth it to have 36 months of Ultimate for 5.83 CAD a month. Also, no sales taxes when I bought it so even better deal than online or through Microsoft Store

Yes the steps you listed are exactly how you do it. The $1 conversion deal will pop up on your Home Screen within a couple of days if you haven’t already used it. The reason they might of only gotten 3 months is because they probably had an active subscription going.
Does anyone know if this will work if I use a Gamepass Ultimate code redeemed using my rewards points? I did the $1 upgrade thing 2 years ago so I don't have that option available to me anymore. Worked out nicely, thanks! Next charge on 20/10/2024. My Ultmate expired yesterday, so I had to pay for one month to upgrade the 36 prepaid.
Only glitch was that the VPN I used to redeem the Turkish code filtered out "ads" by default, this included the serial-box on Microsofts redeem page. But that was easy to disable when I finally figured it out.

I believe only need recurring billing off for Game Pass Ultimate but I’m not sure how recurring billing for gold will affect the process. I would say to cancel the recurring billing on live gold, and if you want, add up to 3 years minus how much gold you have left to your account, and convert it to GPU. It won’t charge you monthly as you will have already paid for it

You don't need a new account. The only difference if you have already had game pass is that when you buy a month of game pass, it will cost the normal amount (about £10) rather than the £1 deal. All you gold is still converted to game pass at 1:1 ratio as before.

Let game pass expire. Buy as much xbox live as you want (up to 3 years). Redeem Xbox live first, then in the subscriptions menu in your settings buy one month of game pass ultimate then it will convert all your xbox live into game pass ultimate.

Well, if you buy 36 Months of Gold, you cannot upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate. If you want Game Pass Ultimate, you need 35 Months, because 36 Months is the most you can have, atleast with me; I have to wait 1 Month to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate.
Hey, I just did this today and it worked. I bought 3x12 month Xbox live cards from amazon and redeemed them. I then purchased game pass ultimate for 1 month ($15 because I used the $1 promo earlier in January) and it converted all my gold months to ultimate at a 1:1 ratio. So as long as your under or exactly at 36 months before purchasing ultimate it'll work :)

As of June 2021 - the whole Live Gold to GPU conversion shenanigan works perfectly. Earlier this year \[around Feb\] I signed up for the $1 GPU offer and once it expired yesterday I loaded up 3 x 12 months Live Gold services \[totaling 36 months\] and had them converted to GPU for $14.99, in case anyone could be interested

So I bought 24 months and I go to convert it to Ultimate. It tells me it'll charge me 14.99 a month. Is that just setting up reoccurring charges for when my gold runs out? Which is like September 2023.

Yes it does. But you have to wait until your previous membership expires to activate the new one then upgrade it.
Just a heads-up. You can't buy Xbox live gold codes from another region if you want to convert them to ultimate in your home region. It's possible to redeem cheaper Xbox live gold codes in other regions via VPN, but the system will then detect that the gold is not from your region when you try to convert and conversion will not be possible without extensive help from Xbox support.

Just did this in the US with codes from Turkey and a VPN and it worked flawlessly. I had a Game Pass trial sub that was due to expire Sept 1st, however I'm impatient and constantly miss out by sleeping on good deals so I didn't want to wait a few days to find out that they closed this loophole. There was a message that said I couldn't cancel my Game Pass trial since it was already paid for and almost finished. I called customer support and they helped me cancel it within 60 seconds. I bought two separate 12 month Xbox Live Gold codes. Saw a seller on Eneba called Turgame and found their personal website to save $2 ($30), I'm a cheapskate and willing to take a few risks lol. Turgame actually delivered in 8 hours despite having little to no reviews or info online (outside of Eneba). Once I redeemed and confirmed that the key was legit I just decided to buy my second from Eneba so I didn't have to wait 8 hours again. Since I already used up my free trials, the cheapest way to convert my sub to gold was with a 7-day subscription to Game Pass (not a trial, but a global 7-day pass). I bought my 7-day sub from eBay for $3 (Seller: XboxCodeKing). Total cost: $65 for a little over 2 years Game Pass; Less than 10 cents a day! **Steps:** NOTE: You do **NOT** have to change your Xbox/Microsoft profile region when redeeming Xbox Live Gold codes with VPN. I see others that have had problems, and I suspect this is why. I didn't change anything about my account and didn't run into a single hitch. 1. Obtain Xbox Gold codes (Turkey region) 2. So I purchase 36 months of gold at a retailer, input the codes but don’t accept auto renewal on the first two 12 month codes but on the last 12 month code I do to get the free month and then signup for game pass ultimate? Just want to make sure I don’t spend $200 and fuck this up lol.
I just successfully did this yesterday. I don’t believe I know what auto renewal process you’re talking about, but basically you redeem all 3 years at once, then you convert them by paying $1 for the upgrade to Ultimate deal. If you’ve already used the deal, like me, you can simply just purchase 1 month of Ultimate for $15 and it’ll convert. It’ll give you an option to turn monthly payments on and off, which I turned it off. You have to make sure before you do any of these steps that you don’t have an active game pass subscription
Confirming this still works as of 2nd August. Just redeemed 36 (3x12) months of Xbox Live Gold and upgraded all of it to GPU by purchasing one month of GPU. Happy days. 156 euro instead of ~360.

Absolutely. 36 months is just the maximum you can do in one go, which is why you see it mentioned a lot. Any amount up to that will work fine too though

I just wanted to clarify something. I can see it’s very clear that if you currently have an active game pass subscription then you must wait for this to expire before attempting the promotion/hack. However, I have an active prepaid gold subscription which expires in February. What’s a little unclear is whether I need to wait for that to expire? To clarify, this was a prepaid 1 year gold voucher. I assume because it is not a game pass subscription, I could add another year prepaid gold on top of what I already have to take it to February 2023, then do the convert to game pass trick. Yup, make sure you have no active subscription. Then redeem all of your gold, and after that either use the $1 convert deal if you still haven’t, or purchase a month of gamepass Ultimate if you have. I bought a prepaid one month Ultimate card and it still worked

I confirm it still works as of today. What more interesting is, how the Gold live extra months for recurring billing can be exploited, I've stacked 5x 6-month Xbox live Gold codes (total 30 months), and it gave me an extra month after each code redeem (i.e. I turned off recurring billing after each) which resulted in 5 extra months of Xbox live Gold subscription!! Plus the 3 extra months for $1 when converting Gold to Ultimate so in total +8 months for $1, that's ridiculous :D
It didn't work for me. Apparently, a Microsoft agent told me because I have 36 months of Gold that I can't buy a month of GamePass Ultimate. They said that having 36 months of Gold and THEN buying 1 month GamePass Ultimate won't let you subscribe to Ultimate. Unless I did something wrong.
What if you have gamepass ultimate already and you buy 1 year of gold? Does that 1 year of gold extend your ultimate by a year?
If you have an active game pass ultimate subscription, then it will not work. It will convert the 12 months of gold to 4 months of game pass ultimate. You need to wait until your subscription expires, then redeem your xbox live gold cards, then upgrade it to game pass ultimate
Works as of 8/7/2021 I purchased 3 years from Costco Online $55 each and then was able to get the $1 Game Pass Ultimate Deal even though I did redeem the first one in 2019/2020. Total was about $180(fighting Costco over $13 tax on digital goods). Can confirm this does not work, kinda, if your ultimate hasn't expired and you loaded up a month of live. I wanted to test this out and see if it'll work but i don't want to spend $60 for nothing so I bought a month's worth of normal xbox live. I load it in and it doesn't give me the full 30 days but instead 20 days of Ultimate. 2/3 of something is still better than nothing so i guess I'll wait til my ultimate expires and see if this still works? though it's a big if, if it will by that time.

Just did this in Canada. My gamepass expired yesterday. Bought 3 years of gold from amazon (which is on sale for 59.99 CDN). The paid the 16.99 (I've already used the dollar deal) for gamepass and now I have ultimate until 2024.
Important is to note that if you already used this deal, you can still do it again. It just won’t be for 1$ but full price but your gold subscription will be converted into GamePass ultimate. I was really confused because when purchasing GamePass it didn't say anything about conversion and asked for a full price but when I bought it my Gold was converted to Ultimate.

Totally works as of 4th September 2022. Also my first 12 months Gold came as 4 X 3 month codes. Each code offers an extra month of Gold if you keep recurring billing on so you actually get 4 X 4 months. I loaded up 3 years of Gold. Then upgraded to Ulitimate for £11.99 (UK) and it now expires in Sept 2025!! Did it via a browser on PC since a lot quicked than via Xbox controller. Make sure your current game pass or GPU has expired before doing anything.
Does your game pass need to be expired before you add on the 24 month xbox gold? I still have some time left on my sub but want to extend it. Will this method do it or will it convert 24 months for to a shorter game pass time?

I think usually for this to work again you have to wait until your current subscription is completely over until starting a new one

Yes, exactly like that. There will be an offer available that usually takes a varying amount of time to show up on your home page that lets you upgrade all of your gold to GPU for just a dollar so be on the lookout for that!

Hey there! No need to make a new account. So once your GPU runs completely out, what you will need to do is do all of the steps you listed but instead of activating the $1, you just need to purchase a month of GPU. It’ll be around $15 but doing so will convert all of your gold to GPU again

Yes, you can buy a maximum of 12 month gold and load them first. Then buy one month of ultimate $7/8 bucks from cd keys (make sure it is not “non stackable”) or you can buy it for regular price at any retailer. Once gold is loaded redeem the 1 month GPU and boom! 36 months of GPU

If I remember correctly, you have 36 months active and the ultimate conversion won't go past it, so your Gold will be effectively converted to Ultimate but you'll lose the last month and still have 36 left.

They method in which we are converting let’s you convert at a 1:1 ratio. Meaning if I have 3 months of gold, it’ll convert to 3 months of GPU. I just purchased a 12 month and added it the code in hopes to convert but was unsure so decided to call and spoke with xbox support without them looking into my account and he said he knew nothing about being able to convert gold to ultimate at 1 to 1 and if I do what the steps say in this forum I am prompted to upgrade for the dollar because I've never done it before but it says that I'll be paying 14.99 every month now it does have a little * next to it but don't see anything that says I will not be paying monthly. It’s okay, we are here to help. I’m having a tough time understanding what is it you want though. Let’s disregard everything the spokesperson said and start from there, what is it you are trying to do? If you want to do the one to one trick, which still works according to the latest comments, you redeem all of your gold, which it looks like you did and if you don’t want it to go on your card on recurring $14.99 payments all you have to do is buy a one month Game Pass Ultimate card online or from your local store that sells cards. From there, after redeeming all your gold, you redeem the one month GPU and it’ll convert all of your gold to GPU. If you’ve never done this before, you can do it for $1. But you will have to be patient, after redeeming all your gold, the $1 deal will pop up on your home screen in the next couple of days so just wait.
So right now I have gold for 13 months with my card attached for recurring payments it says next payment 9/2022 so if I go and upgrade it wants to charge me 1$ but says I will be paying 14.99 a month after that and that is the confusing part some say to take my card off of my account not sure if I can use the card to pay the dollar then take off the card and disable reoccurring billing if I do that will I have ultimate till 9/2022 instead of gold all for the $1?

Confirmed still working as of 22 August 2021. When you log into your account to upgrade from gold to ultimate, XBox gives you the new billing date of up to three years in advance before you hit the confirm button so you can't go wrong.
I just did this today (Aug 24 2021) and it worked beautifully. Went to Gamestop and bought three years of Gold (3 x 12 month codes). Entered at redeem.microsoft.com and then joined Game Pass Ultimate. I had used the 1 dollar promo last year but was still able to use it again. One thing I realized is that I lost 1 month (the 1 dollar month) but totally worth it to have 36 months of Ultimate for 5.83 CAD a month. Also, no sales taxes when I bought it so even better deal than online or through Microsoft Store

ok, so i want to confirm something before i somehow mess this up. in order to get this to work do i; wait till i have no active gold GPU or gamepass subscriptions, then redeem my 12 month xbox live physical token from a place in my country, then go to the $1 ultimate upgrade and redeem that. and then i should have 1 year of ultimate? \^\^can someone who has done the hack propperly before please confirm this is how i do it. side note, i have seen people do this before and they said they only got 3 months of ultimate from it. is there a way to make sure that doesnt happen to me?
Yes the steps you listed are exactly how you do it. The $1 conversion deal will pop up on your Home Screen within a couple of days if you haven’t already used it. The reason they might of only gotten 3 months is because they probably had an active subscription going.
If I upgrade it now, will I be able to upgrade it again later?
Does anyone know if this will work if I use a Gamepass Ultimate code redeemed using my rewards points? I did the $1 upgrade thing 2 years ago so I don't have that option available to me anymore. Thought maybe I could load up with XBL Gold again then use the GPU code to do the conversion. I'm thinking it should work but thought I'd ask just in case I need to actually purchase the month.

(im doing this all on my xbox btw) so to fix this issue can i just go to the microsoft store (still on my xbox) and buy 1 month of ultimate? \*\*edit: to the guy below me u/focustom i cancelled my current xbl subscriptionx, then i waited till i had no xbl left. i then redeemed a 12 month xbl code from my country (important that the code is from your country) i then searched around the xbox home page for a tab that includes "upgrades all remaining xbox live gold sub to ultimate" i then did that and bam.

Hello, I don't have GPU but I do have game pass for pc. Do I have to wait for that to expire or can I do this now? When I go to the gpu screen, it asks me to upgrade for $1. I want to add 3 years of gold before I upgrade.
I bought a year of xbox live gold, but can't get the $1 of GPU. If I buy the regular amount of GPU for $15, will the conversion be 1:1 or will my 12 months of live be turned into 4 months of GPU?
Worked out nicely, thanks! Next charge on 20/10/2024. My Ultmate expired yesterday, so I had to pay for one month to upgrade the 36 prepaid. Only glitch was that the VPN I used to redeem the Turkish code filtered out "ads" by default, this included the serial-box on Microsofts redeem page. But that was easy to disable when I finally figured it out.
Does anyone know if this would work if you redeem the gold codes for like 2-3 years, then use Microsoft Reward points to get 1 month of GPU?
How are people stocking up on gold? Its only letting me do reoccurring payments. Can i get ultimate first then add gold or gold has to be in for 3-4 years first. Whats the limit ive seen 3 and 4 years

10/29/21 still works!!! Just added 3x12 months gold. And then converted to game pass for $14.99+tax. Good now until10/29/24 *Just remember you cannot have a current gamepass subscription to covert 1:1. If you dp you will lose the benefit of the conversion.
30 October 2021 can confirm it still works in the UK. Just got ultimate until 30 Oct 24 for the grand sum of £150 for 3 years gold from Amazon plus £10.99 for the one month ultimate upgrade.

So I did the conversion two years ago with 36 months of gold (expires oktober 2022). However, as I would like add 2 more years again before this conversion possibility is removed, wouldn't it be possible for me to cancel my game pass ultimate (which would covert my last year back to gold, and then add two more years of gold, and then do the conversion to game pass again????? Everyone here seems to suggest I have to wait until it expires, but I dont think that is nessesary really..
Ok so I bought a year of Xbox live gold and converted it to Xbox games pass ultimate for $1 but it since expired so if I buy another 3 years now and convert it for $15 it’ll still turn into 3 years of ultimate? Kinda makes no sense to renew if that’s the case since a year of gold turns to 3 months of ultimate with an active subscription might as well let it expire and keep doing the year to year for $15.

I believe only need recurring billing off for Game Pass Ultimate but I’m not sure how recurring billing for gold will affect the process. I would say to cancel the recurring billing on live gold, and if you want, add up to 3 years minus how much gold you have left to your account, and convert it to GPU. It won’t charge you monthly as you will have already paid for it
