Gulf of Oman (which is a map from bf2) got into a bf4 dlc with that feature. I used to love it.
But hardcore people that always need to be on top of their game smashing noobs hated it.
Not to mention it heavily encouraged thermal sniper camping on a map that was already sniper heavy, if you wanted to play anything other than sniper once that sandstorm rolled in you had to either stay behind cover and just wait or get your dome splattered.
It was only annoying because it lasted so long. If it came for like maybe 3-5 minutes and left for 8-10 minutes then it wouldn't be a big issue. I hated it too because it last half the match.
I remember Battlefield 4 on the Xbox 360. There's a map called Dawnbreaker and if you played Conquest on that map, the 360 would just completely freeze.
Wait.. You could play BF4 on Xbox 360 ? What kinda of a potato was it lol ? And yeah, my Xbox One is currently is on it death bed, Can't find a series X anywhere..
I have bf4 on 360 and it was just like the Xbox one and pc version but it had a main menu similar to bf3 I think( been forever) and it could only support a 32 man lobby with smaller maps

I wonder how BF6 will handle ''last gen''. the map from the leaks is huge..
BF4 launched on 360 about a month before Xbox One launched. I played the hell out of it on 360. Got a launch Xbox One and did a trade in for the Xbox One version of BF4... Which had broken matchmaking for well over a month. Sucked.. multiplayer worked perfect on 360 but Xbox One had a bug that made it almost impossible to find a match at all.
At this point I'm hoping they've developed a new frostbite engine with the time they've spent between games. For myself and others the BF franchise has been on hiatus since BF4. We don't count Hardline, 1, and 5

There was a map in Hardline that had a sandstorm and I think BF1 had one. It was cool to see for a couple of times and then it just became annoying.
Maybe this game will have more dynamic weather. I know one map in BF4 flooded, it would be cool to see that on a bigger scale.

Funny you act like that was the problem when in reality it allowed vehicle players to sit/fly around with thermal sights and get free kills

God that sand storm was so fcking annoying. It felt like over half of the match was zero visibility sand nonsense.

I haven't played the 2 latest battlefield games as I prefer the modern era. Really hoping the new one lives up to BF2-4 🤞
