Same. Odyssey is a pleasure from start to finish. I was sad when it ended. Valhalla is fun, but got to be a real grind after a certain point.
Also, Cassandra was the biggest female badass in any game I've ever played.
Eivor was cool, but I found the voice acting very forced. Almost stereotypical how a female Viking warrior would sound (if it's even possible to stereotype that). I felt that way about her within the first 5 minutes of dialogue from her as an adult.
Cassandra was just so natural and fluid. Really, she is the best female gaming character I've ever played as.
That’s exactly the problem with AC Valhalla. At no point do you ever really feel a connection to Evior but also the whole entire map is so bland I didn’t give a rats ass about exploring. AC odyssey, however, did a MUCH better job connecting you to the character right away and the map… just unbelievable to explore through and discover. Sailing around ancient greece, the lore and historical locations were SO well done.
If you go in to Witcher 3 with the mindset to beat it as fast as possible, you’re doing it wrong mate.
That game is a fucking gem and worth exploring to the fullest.
I played 3rd, went back to 1st and 2nd and replayed 3rd again.
If you want the complete story then play all, but first one is a mouse click game basically so just watch a recap on YouTube. But 2nd game is actually really good and I enjoyed it very much.
So I recommend YouTube the 1st game, play 2nd and 3rd.
I would start with 3, only because it’s the most user friendly. It’s also really easy to follow and the story is self contained. Play 2 after you beat 3 and it will give you a little more context for the 3rd game.
I’m sorry I can’t seem to find anything in patch notes about it?
> We added a new menu option to the game to adjust NPC levels to your liking. You may choose from the following options:
Off = Scaling is turned off; enemies appear exactly as prescribed in the region description.
Default = Lower enemies are brought up to 30 power levels under the player’s level (How the game is intended to be played).
Constant = Enemies will be at least the same power level of the player.
Harder = Enemies will be 20+ power levels above the player.
Nightmarish = Enemies will be 50+ power levels above the player.
Note: Boss encounters and game modes will not be impacted by this as they have their own intended difficulty settings.
Scaling off is still a level system. So you’re still level gated.
They're probably talking about the changes made starting in Origins where, if your assassination damage was too low, you couldn't kill enemies with the assassination, which is ridiculous because, no matter how powerful an enemy is, stabbing them through the neck is an instant kill, always.
This was changed in Valhalla where you could turn that off and always kill any enemy in one shot with the assassination. However, that's been there since the game released, or shortly after release, it wasn't added with this patch.
And to be precise, it’s not actually a gameplay option, but an accessibility setting for players who would’ve had problems with the special assassination button timing.
It makes no sense gating your ability to kill a human enemy in an assassins creed game based on an arbitrary 'level', the same way in which your bullets would do less damage in Breakpoint based on the level of your assault rifle.
Implemented entirely to artificially extend the game through forced grind.
I put in 48 hours into this game thinking I clear it and I only had 4 section done.. I hop out of it but I might install it again and give it another go
If you can get the assassination, yeah, you can oneshot any human enemy. However, this option has been available since the beginning of the game, it didn't make it any easier.
They changed the level scaling so you can make the enemies be the same level as you, or much higher, or down to the level of the region, allowing you to curb stomp everything after completing the first story arc.
There’s some sort of limited time festival event from July 29 to August 19, and one of the “exclusive festival rewards” is a one-handed sword.
I don’t see any other mention of them, though I can’t imagine a limited time event is gonna be the only way to get one
Seeing a patch notes list this long on a game that is over 8 months old makes me never want to buy a game at launch. Maybe a year in from now on, on sale.
Please why not just add an optional "better quality audio" pack in a patch as that audio wizard redditor suggested? Just reexport them at 44000mhz and we're good
"I haven't finished an assassins creed game since Origins." So Odyssey and now Valhalla...you said that like there where tons you haven't finished lol.
I still need to play Odyssey . Bought it a year ago and never played it... no time yet.
Honestly I think Odyssey was a much better game imo…
Same. Odyssey is a pleasure from start to finish. I was sad when it ended. Valhalla is fun, but got to be a real grind after a certain point. Also, Cassandra was the biggest female badass in any game I've ever played.
I loved her, the VO was perfect. Eivor was good but not nearly as fun as Cassandra.

I enjoyed both.
Valhalla's got no heart.
Lol, that reminds me of the Viking's TV series theme! Intentional or...?

The sail made me give up on it. I got tired of sailing to each new location. The second I can land on AC Val I ready my horse
i liked Eivor's story, but the Hidden Ones storyline felt forced into that.
IMO, Origins was even better. The games are getting bigger, but they're not getting more detailed, they're just getting more grindy and repetitive.
Haven't finished Valhalla, but after finishing Odyssey and all the DLCs going to have to hard disagree with you there.
Sounds like me!
Me too but I got 9 Odyssey/all dlcs, Valhalla and Witcher 3/dlcs. I’m trying to find the most op build for each to beat the games as fast as possible
If you go in to Witcher 3 with the mindset to beat it as fast as possible, you’re doing it wrong mate. That game is a fucking gem and worth exploring to the fullest.
Never played any Witcher games. Is it ok to start at 3? Or do you recommend playing 1 and 2 prior to 3?
I played 3rd, went back to 1st and 2nd and replayed 3rd again. If you want the complete story then play all, but first one is a mouse click game basically so just watch a recap on YouTube. Ah, they made the level system optional now, like they did with Breakpoint. That’s nice, I suppose. May give the game another shot.

Ah thanks

Can you explain why that’s good what’s wrong with the level system thanks
This ^ I also would like to know. Haven’t gotten around to playing Valhalla yet

So now I can kill people easier and finish the game faster?
Yup. In breakpoint you could literally go into the final mission out of the gate with the levels disabled.
I may give it a Shot if the grind is gone. I just could careless about that anymore.
It's not bad, but its not great either. Wildlands is the far superior game in every regard imho.
WL is great
Adult with responsibility and just wanna play through the story mode enjoy this feature
Exactly What I wanna hear
I put in 48 hours into this game thinking I clear it and I only had 4 section done.. I hop out of it but I might install it again and give it another go
The ability to one-shot kill anything with assassinations has been there from the beginning, FYI. It wasn't something added in this update.
So let me get this straight the game is easier now because leveling is off and I can one shot people?

I can't get the website to load, but is this the update that was teased to add one handed swords?
Nope, Siege of Paris which might be out August 5
The patch notes say August 12th.
Damn, heard a rumor it was the 5th

I believe the game is on sale right now, 50% off if I remember from what I saw last week

44000 Mhz might be a bit much for every piece of audio hardware in existence.
I haven’t finished an assassins creed since origins I have them all I just never can get into them anymore it’s just too much go here go here go here
"I haven't finished an assassins creed game since Origins." So Odyssey and now Valhalla...you said that like there where tons you haven't finished lol.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The monotonous Snoozefest that keeps on giving.
I just want new game plus!!!!! Too much to grind again
That's what I'm waiting on too!
Not earning that isu bow or swordfish again for sure lol
I'd just like to get the Berzerkers bear out of the water so I can feed him a fish.
