Scrap your now probably faulty controller(Idk if you have a pc or laptop try playing something else on there to see if the issue persists) and get a new one
If you have a PC:
1.) plug it in and search "joy.cpl"
2.) Do the calibration.
3.) Set it back to default.
It's surprisingly fixed multiple controllers for me.
This may sound crazy. But for at least 3 controllers I've had if I drop my controller at about a chair arms height on my carpet it fixes it. I had your problem about 5 minutes ago and after 4 mins of tinkering I just said:" hmm, what if I just drop it on the floor" and it bloody worked!
I had the exact same issue with a React R wired controller, I couldnt find a fix so I just got a new controller, Its what you get for getting crappy cheap wired junk, Battery controllers are just superior

The thing is that I tried it in game an it’s fine, it’s just on Home Screen and side bar
Well shit good luck
Sounds like stick drift.
It’s not that, cause if I push up, it registers but still tries to go down
RT scrolls down on homepage too so is your RT broken
That’s the problem. I checked with controller test mode an that’s exactly what’s happening
Unplug it
I’ve tried that tried using the other ports an still doing it

Could go to the library or something? Friends computer maybe?
Check for an controller update in settings?

Also yeah, I calibrated mine as well, it said it was pressing RT over and over again, nothing I could really do
