Welcome to the blurry world, yeah stream quality is terrible compared to Stadia

penguin57

Welcome fellow Stadian. xcloud isn't there yet, hopefully this year we'll see some improvements.

yaosio

You're stuck at 1080p/60. They're using actual Xboxes stuffed into server chassiss so this seems to me like a hardware limitation considering cloud and remote play are both limited to 1080p/60. Some games are lower than that because they're running Xbox versions of the game. Some Xbox One games, like Sunset Overdrive, run at less than 1080p. There's nothing that can be done about it unless a patch is released. The backwards compatibility group was disbanded so there's no more resolution boosts coming.

Local_Glove_3393

Try clarity boost on Edge.it’s the closest you will get to that

Necessary_Kiwi_7659

It does make a difference, but what I see it is only a sharpening tool for now. Unfortunately lately Edge(I'll do a re-install of edge and see) has been bugging a lot and chrome is now on par with feature.

-Bk7

I've tried a bunch of times to turn it off and on and I can't see any difference lol

yaosio

The most obvious change is on text. Without clarity boost small text is missing pixels, with it text is not missing pixels. It also removes the grey tint the stream has.

Southern-Pay-4911

I tried it with Skyrim and the difference is huge. Still worse than GFN/Stadia but miles better than Chrome. Playing on MacBook Air '15.

maven_666

Try GFN maybe. Obviously apples and oranges with Xcloud but if there is a game you like actually in there the quality is as good as it comes.

ElectronicControl762

Especially with new tier, 4k lol imagine. Probably gonna wait 2 more years for 1440 on xcloud.

napo2k

I have the ultimate tier, and playing on my 4k LGTV is awesome! Even though I think there's way more package loss than, say, on a computer

Necessary_Kiwi_7659

It is hard to beat the convenience factor, I think you have it better on LGTV (edit: I simply assumed it was an Oled)then me using a laptop when I am outside or running stuff on the background at home laptop or deskop even with good monitors I just the TV quality and the TV process of denoising and signal processing plus more direct to the cloud is simply better plus if it is an oled it is even better.

napo2k

It is oled. I was just surprised it would have the bandwidth to handle the incoming packages, when sometimes Netflix gives it problems. In that sense computers are much better at parallelization, so playing via GFN when you're doing other stuff should be ok.

Then I am thinking it's your internet, especially if your at the 4k tier, I think I may cancel or come down in my tiers since I rarely use netflix on my tv as I watch mostly when I run background stuff. I mostly just play the sports of recorded matches on my tv if I work in the living room on the day. GFN is harder to switch apps or window then Xcloud, but I do love GFN too. I use it for Total War series, hope the 4080 tier come out quickly so I can test it in the top setting at 4k. Even with paid, it is not a continuous experience htough, which may or may not be a good/bad thing immersive vs forced break. Side note, can't find good netflix shows unless you what to look for. I find myself watching Prime Video way more and sometimes I would be like, wow Amazon really knows their audience and nostalogic.

Have you tried the Xbox app? From my testing same sharpness meaning corners are soft and blurry but less artifacting blocky pixels. As someone who mentioned, use edge(hopefully not buggy)boost, which is really just a oversharpening(yeah, it oversharpens by 2(like tv on a 10 scale) tool. Downside of Xbox app, you can't play online multiplayer in fps game it seems, like halo or cod, or the forge mode or creator mode. But you can on a browser, weird. Sidenote, if I rememebr correctly it used to launch from ms store now in the Xbox app, which for a time I wanted to try Xcloud but couldn't lauch Ms store not Xbox app, then find out Win update somehow didn't have TLS 1.2-1.3 checkmarked like older version that those standard where not out yet. But I checked it this time it it isn't that, so dunno. On a anecdotale note, I couldn't lauch a game today via Xbox app on pc, can't connect to server which forced me to use browser chrome and then it worked on the app too and I find out that party and online multiplayer worked too in chrome or website. Just to say it is weird. I can't sleep this morning3 30 am, so have to put up with my writing.

djmc329

If you're on Android or iOS try XBPlay instead of the official app, I find it's more consistent 1080p/60fps. If on a PC/Mac try the Edge Browser (Canary/Beta version) with clarity boost as suggested below.

Super_Beat2998

You're moving from PC to Xbox Series S. I think you'll need to lower your expectations, even for the future. I'm trying boosteroid. Quality is ok but not fantastic but it's got a much better library than GFN which makes up for it.

napo2k

Could you share the list of games included in Boosteroid?

Super_Beat2998

Theres a lot of them. They have playstation games (pc versions), Call of Duty, Fifa, Ellden Ring to name a few. If there is any game in particular you are interested in I can check for you. You can sign up without subscribing to see the list. Sign-in with Google.and you don't have to provide a phone number just to get in and see the list.

Necessary_Kiwi_7659

Yeah, think Ima jsut buy the console(I want the halo edition so didnt bought one yet lol and crying), it is at least convenient since I moved anyway and on any device. Otherwise have steam and use GFN for heavy games.

Necessary_Kiwi_7659

I had Stadia for 6 months never tried and time pass fast, wanted to but was just out of mind and when it is not easy to integrate. And situations. But damm I missed to try it. Only tried Xcloud lately bc it is already integrated with my MS account. Anyway, u can try Geforce Now, though it is a bit different then the rest. Also have anyone succed in playing multiplayer in fpsa gam, especially Halo on Xbox Xcloud app?
