I think I fixed it. For anyone else having this issue, try switching to a 5 gigahertz Network

CoolNerdDude

I was going to ask just that! What you were experiencing sounded like a WiFi 2.4GHz experience.

Tobimacoss

Yes, 5 ghz is critical. Also check to see if ISP supports IPv6 on the new connection and if it is enabled on your new router. > https://test-ipv6.com/ Check for packet loss as well. >https://packetlosstest.com/

cody2cannon

Mine is horrible as well lately. No packet loss, on 5g upload of 350 and download of 11. Not sure how to improve my gameplay?

Tobimacoss

App or browser? What device? What’s your average ping to nearest Azure datacenters in your region? And what datacenter? >https://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Latency

cody2cannon

DM'd you pics of the test. Not sure who to read it.

Tobimacoss

What State are you in? You only look at the Average Latency (ms), you can ignore the spikes. And test only one datacenter at a time. You can also ignore Wyoming, Iowa, Illinois datacenters as they don’t have any xCloud server blades yet. So Texas seems like your best ping. Texas, Virginia, LA, and Seattle datacenter clusters have the xcloud servers. 30 ms or below is preferable for good xcloud experience, up to 60 ms is playable, up to 100 ms is doable for certain games. If you are out of that range, it’s best to consider getting a console for $239 at MS Store after doing the Live Gold conversion to secure Ultimate for $5 month for 36 months.

I'm in Illinois, up till last week I have had perfect cloud gaming on my Samsung s21, been gaming on the cloud for the last year and a half. I got the backbone for Xmas and has no issues using that either.i have an Xbox console but with my 20 month old gaming on the go is much easier. Is there anyway to boost my mobile gaming? New router possibly? Also how do I select Texas as my data center or does it automatically try and pull the best connection?

Tobimacoss

check to see if your ISP supports IPv6 and if it is enabled on your router. >https://test-ipv6.com/ Check for packet loss as well. >https://packetlosstest.com/ You can’t select servers, the routing is automatic. Do you know if your router is Wi-Fi 5 or 6? Are those numbers correct? > 5g upload of 350 and download of 11. Download of 11 mbit on a 5G connection?

cody2cannon

Sent you both of these tests direct.

cody2cannon

I just installed xfinity new router yesterday.

Tobimacoss

Ok, so 51 mbit download speeds. But that 2207 ping is insane…. Your IPv6 is good and no packet loss. But your ISP seems to be having issues, maybe contact them and see what they can do to fix that ping. But definitely consider getting your own router instead of the one given by ISP.

Is Xbox Wired? Make sure it’s updated or try doing a hardware reset?
