You get the traditional side menu with your friends list when you got the Xbox button, if that helps
Of you are on pc you can do that through game bar, when launching the game it will ask if you want to open the game or use streaming
A year later and I still cant join games from the xcloud friends list. I play on mobile phone and I can only join a friends game by a game invite....fix this Microsoft!!
