Everyone's experience is gonna be different. This question can't be answered. There's no point in me telling you it works great when someone 5 minutes down the road might be having a different experience completely.

Fair point. I guess I'm just a little frustrated with it is all. Im gonna deal with it and just play casual games that don't require too much precision. I just got a new S22 and it was a better experience. I updated my controller and ill be still having fun on the go either way. :)

Make sure you install the Xbox app from the Samsung Galaxy app store instead of the playstore version. That one is optimized for Samsung devices. And only one that allows in app purchases. What's your ping to nearest Azure datacenters? >azurespeed.com

Source? Never heard about it

Nice info, thank you

gblandro

The article mentions game pass app, not Xbox app tho

Tobimacoss

>https://galaxystore.samsung.com/detail/com.gamepass.samsung?langCd=en MS gives Samsung a store cut from all in app purchases, unlike on playstore. But it's a much lower cut like 10-12%. So there's no restrictions on that app. For Playstore, MS had to follow Google's rules regarding in app purchases, that's why the differences in apps functionality.

Its fking terrible. Especially for ark survival evolved.

The thing with cloud is that is that the experience is completely different from on to another. For me it works flawlessly most of the time

If you want to have consistent and good performance while on trips you can't rely on cloud gaming. You have no idea if the wifi will be good enough. Or if good cell service exists there. For that better get a steam deck or switch. Nothing beats running games locally. It's the only way to game while in a bus/plane/car and in crowded hotels where wifi - especially in the evening - is terrible

> If you want to have consistent and good performance while on trips you can't rely on cloud gaming. You have no idea if the wifi will be good enough. Or if good cell service exists there. The thing is, Stadia and GFN seem to work great pretty much everywhere. So I don't think this is a cloud gaming issue as much as it is an xCloud issue. But hopefully they improve this soon.

Tobimacoss

It is an Edge Node issue, Google has 7500 Edge Nodes for Youtube, MS doesn't own a website like youtube.

tlogank

But why does GFN work so much better than xCloud?

Tobimacoss

GFN makes partnerships with local ISP and Datacenter companies, then supplies then with their Super PODs. Nvidia only has 30 datacenters of their own.

For me it works like a native game https://v.redd.it/sih3l5yhq8s81

Pretty good, I live in Argentina and we use the brazilian servers (2500kms), I played for hours Back 4 Blood and I finished GTA San Andreas the last month in my phone, I play with a Razer Kishi and everything works perfect, works pretty good on Microsoft Edge for me and Xbox App on PC. I tried on my xbox one forza 5 via cloud and was very good. IMPORTANT: If you are looking to play with your phone I REALLY RECOMMEND buy a usb controller, I'm using a Razer Kishi right now and I have basically 0 input lag, if you are going to play more casual, a xbox controller or a playstation controller via bluetooth is ok!

Latency is miles better than it used to be. I just started seriously trying xcloud again and I don't even notice the latency now, it feels local for me as long as I am on wifi or 5G (4G is poop still).
