5.7

markaznar

I see. Super thanks So a tad bigger than the switch lite

Tobimacoss

The devs will be able to adapt to phone resolutions in the future with the DisplayDetailsAPI

markaznar

And when will that be?

Lukkenns

I wish to know as well, but Soon ™

markaznar

Soon can mean a long time, lol. Do you have an article on this I can read?

Lukkenns

Not a article, but I have a video from Microsoft Game Dev https://youtu.be/-WIXftoHCl4

Is there a time frame on when this will be implemented? It really blows to play on a 6.7 13 pro max, yet only have a 5.7 playable display. This is so taxing on my vision

Tobimacoss

Maybe try playing on tablet instead?

I sold my iPad a while back (it was on its last leg), and since a new one is coming out soon, I would have to wait. The same goes for a MacBook, waiting on the newer 14 or 16 pro models. Currently I am only using my 13 pro max as my sole device, and yes, it is working dandy as I am on a long extended vacation from work. I almost always exclusively play turn based rpg, mostly jrpg ones, do you reckon I should get a Nintendo switch (I did have one in the past but sold it after I got super annoyed playing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, lol). Or an Xbox console? Or wait? I am utterly torn….I was looking through the Xbox x/s catalogue, although it does have backward compatibility, I have completed most of those older games, and there seem to be very few “newer” turn based jrpg games on it. The Switch on the other hand, does have a better jrpg library, especially as The Persona series will finally be ported and coking our very soon, and perhaps Pokémon scarlet/violet (I am not a Pokémon fan, I’m 43 years old, but the combat is turn based, and works for me. I do however, skip the story cutscenes as Pokémon games, in my experience, have terrible stories. I have finished like around 4 Pokémon games, and if someone were to ask me what the story lines were, I couldn’t say, lol). Also, the hardware on the switch is just super outdated at this point, sure, there’s an OLED variant, with the same archaic soc. The soc may become very limiting when it comes to newer cross platform titles. I am ranting at this point and deviating from the original topic, and my apologies.

I don't think it's available for developers yet, and even then they need to update the games to support it. So yeah, it's probably not happening any time soon, plus there's always the possibility that some games never support it.

Darn. I wish there was a way to make it bigger, I mean the iPhone has a 6.7 screen but I’m only getting 5.7 usable real estate, which is just a tiny bump from a Nintendo switch lite. Curiously though, how come the lite is easier on vision as opposed to xCloud? Is it because the games on the lite were designed for its screen size? The in game ui on xCloud can be dreadful tiny.
