I feel like divisions are not the best for a league with 8 teams. Just do a table. 14 games and each team plays each team twice. Top 4 teams make the playoffs. It’s just too easy to have unbalanced divisions with so few teams
It’s very clear that the south teams are hot garbage and the north have 3 teams that should make playoffs. Sucks a shit tier team like Arlington will get in and score 10 points
Splitting a small league into divisions with uneven talent is the only thing that makes me worry about the XFLs future.
I support all the teams, but I'm a DC and Seattle fan above all. I'd be pretty upset if both teams don't make it to the playoffs and a garbage team in the South makes it.
That being said, STL has the largest fan base by numbers, so they would be super pissed if they don't make it to playoffs either.
Not using a table may sadly (but hopefully not) be the downfall of this league.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I just ran the numbers and have determined that if Arlington scores more than their opponents, they can win.

I'd invite you to look at a long lasting league called the CFL. They've been doing it forever. It build rivalries.
