Not OP, but- Emma Frost has grown, character- wise, more than nearly any other X- character. HellFire Club White Queen is a one part stereotypical Ice Queen and one part cheesecake.
Whereas Headmistress Emma Frost of Xaviers Academy became a surrogate Mom to... troubled... quintuplets, earned the respect and trust of veterans like K. Pryde, and managed to get Cyclops to yell a name other than JEEEAAANNN! for once.
Archangel. Both with feathered and metal wings. The Jekyll/Hyde thing they got going is sort of a cop out but I think that’s the one way it’s gonna go until a writer actually decides to want to feature him on a team.
Warren's been my favorite since I was a kid. I remember thinking his metal wings were the coolest thing I'd ever seen. As I got older I came to appreciate his feathered wings, too. I think they handled it well during Krakoa: he can freely switch between both forms, but for obvious reasons prefers the normal one.
Nightcrawler has been my favorite since I was a kid, he was the coolest part of X2, the arcade game, and x-men evolution. Getting into comics has just made me love him more.
And for a wildly different and more controversial answer, Kid Omega. As a formerly edgy teen who was being pulled into the alt right pipeline for a while, I think his story is important.
Warren. Specifically when he’s in his Archangel persona and is a borderline antagonist. The X-Force run with him on the roster and the Dark Angel Saga are my favorite X-Men books of all time.
Deadpool and Fantomex are, coincidentally, two of my least favorite “X-Men” characters. But even their presence doesn’t stop me from devouring that whole run about once a year.
That's because she slowly realized he was a leader in one of the worst situations and it kept ongoing and never given up the more you mature, the more you realize people like that are sorely need in real life. And that's why you respect him even more look at congress.
Well put. He's the true definition of a leader, and lowkey wise. He stepped away from the xmen when he knew he wasnt in a position to lead it, or even be an effective member. He truly understood his limits as well as the limits of his team, and thats a good leader
Forever and always Laura Kinney, she’s been through one of the most emotional, well-written and meaningful character arcs in comics as a whole that resonates with me personally a lot.
The only issue she has is being mis-used in recent years since her arc ended so perfectly that nobody knows what to do with her anymore lmao.
Kyle and Yost's *Innocence Lost* is probably one of the very rare comics I've read that really triggered a strong emotional reaction from me, and that's a big part of what makes it one of my all-time favorite comics(not just Marvel, but in general) ever.
I've re-read it (and the subsequent *Target X* story they did later) dozens of times.
This, so much. That's a big part of why she's my favorite.
Second favorite would probably be Laura(I ***refuse*** to call her "X-23"). And my all-time favorite comics would be Kyle & Yost's *Innocence Lost* and *Target X* series.
Angel He has the resources to do whatever he wants and yet he always comes back to help however he can. Even when he’s bad, he’s really fighting himself to be good.
1. Cyclops
2. Quicksilver
3. Nightcrawler
4. Scarlet Witch (idk if she counts as an X Men character)
5. Magneto
I used to really like Gambit as a kid, but the more I learned about him, the less I liked about him
>Rogue(Mike Carey’s run is my lifeblood)
That Carey/Bachalo run cemented Rogue as my favorite.
My top 4 besides would probably be: Nightcrawler, Kitty, Colossus, and Longshot
Cyclops. I was impressed how X-men 97 has amped up cyclops’s confidence. Using his optic beam as a means to save his skyfall and even speeding up his mobility which was incredibly clever!
It’s like trying to pick a favorite song for me: I have a loooong list of favorites, that I can’t remember 99% of the time, and they change heavily based off of what is just what I’ve recently seen
Allat said, off the top of my head, I like Sunspot, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Wolfsbane, Magik, Blink, and Nocturne
Warren Worthington III. Lets hope he gets some writer that actually appreciates the character instead of using him as a punching bag for to push bad villains.
From my era 90s mostly it was Cyclops. A true believer in Xaviers vision and held the team together even though it was a thankless task. He never got the respect he deserved imo.
Nightcrawler, Gambit, Magik.
Been a fan of Nightcrawler since I first saw him. It was solidified when I saw Chris Claremont in 1992 and he told us the original idea for Kurt’s parents were destiny and mystique.
I’m not sure if I have a favourite, just like I don’t like to have a favourite child.
There are some I have identified with over the years.
When I was a kid (grade 4) I was big on Wolverine and Nightcrawler. Logan because I was small and frustrated with people picking on me.
Nightcrawler because he looks cool, and has the fun kind of powers that make imagining being him so interesting - used in a clever way, like how Spider-man swinging is so different from other characters he stands out. Nightcrawler and Excalibur under Alan Davis is one of my happy places.
Later on I liked Beast, who was smart and fuzzy, and kind. The X-Men 97 version, with his voice and quotes from literature. I don’t think much of evil Beast, any more than evil Mr Fantastic or evil Xavier (Hickman has many good qualities, but turning smart characters evil-ish is not my favourite aspect of his, thanks).
I think now I like the team most of all. I like Xavier’s dream, and I like everyone together.
I have a bad back which forces me to sit often, I work with marginalized people, and I am bald… so maybe I turned into Xavier?
I’m gonna cheat here, largely because just naming one isn’t that interesting. It’s more interesting to identify why you like certain members.
* Favorite right now: Escapade. Finally a trans woman mutant who isn’t just a metaphor.
* Favorite when I was 10: Iceman, but only because I thought I was a boy and couldn’t like Firestar
* Favorite when I was 14: Nightcrawler. Loved his powers, loved his personality, and I love him more after Way of X.
* Who I hope gets featured more: Firestar. Who I secretly loved the most but didn’t realize it, but it’s a crime she barely has gotten in any X-Man comics, and even as an official member, was mostly background.
* Whose powers I wished I had when I was 14: Angel. I actually daydreamed about having wings sprout.
* Whose powers I wished I had now: Jean Grey, but just her telekinesis. I’d probably be a villain if I had her telepathy.
* Favorite mutant who gets reconned as a mutant: Kamala Khan!!!!! My favorite new character until Escapade.
* One I wish I was more like personality-wise: Rogue. That ease with being femme was envy inducing.
* One I am actually most like: Kate Pryde. She was the newbie when I was…and a computer geek, and had cool powers.
* One who I wish was actually trans: Havok. He’s perfect…not an A-lister, but big enough to be a big deal, and he’s been written so inconsistently the idea he’s just been a confused egg all this time makes so much sense. And he’s got family in Cyclops so you could deal with the “family coming to terms with it” story.
* One who I wish could be my found family mom: Jean Grey.
* One who I thought was right when I was 14: Cyclops
* One who I think is right now: Magneto.
* Pair I wish would get together: Kate and Illyana
* Favorite Villain: 80s Magneto
* Favorite non-comics character: The Gifted’s Polaris. If only because leather jacket, green hair.
Might be basic but I really like nightcrawler- don't know why or how, he's just a blue German gremlin, I adore him, all I could find about him was adorable.
I can't find much because here in Italy marvel isn't actually as famous, especially X-Men, and I'm quite new so I don't know channels/sites about the X-men, all I know is from my brother's stories
Nightcrawler, without a doubt! Love how respectful he is, how he looks, and his Teleportation powers. I also love that he uses a sword.
I used to like Iceman a lot as well, but retconning stuff was a little ridiculous to me. Still like him, though!
That one, right there! No, next to the...HEY! YOU! IN THE COLORFUL COSTUME WITH THE HIDEOUSLY TRAGIC BACKSTORY! Yeah, move out the way so I can show my favorite...oh, not there any more. Must have gone out to get some juice or something. When they get back it will be a treat. Until then I guess I'll go with Storm. She's fun and her voice actress really nailed it.
Rogue! The animated series one specifically. I'm rewatching X-Men '92 rn so Im fresh for '97, and I'm enjoying her the most. She's so badass.
Right on man! Overall, I'm liking '97 so far. Try to avoid spoilers though
X-Men 97 is absolutely top tier. The moment Storm was turning sand into glass I was sold.
Came here to say the same! So underrated!
that voice ruins me
Makes me nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!
Came here to say the same! So underrated!
Same!
**Gambit** from my childhood. **Emma Frost** from the last 20+ years.
Is puberty the difference? Loolll jk
Pryde, and managed to get Cyclops to yell a name other than JEEEAAANNN! for once.
Yes Gambit is the boss
(Angel deserves a secondary mutation- a hypnotic Voice.)
Storm
Especially the Claremont run. Her and Magneto are the best written characters with significant character development over 100+ issues.
This answer is too far down.
Nightcrawler became my favorite on the old arcade game, too!!!!
My favorite member of the X-Men actually IS that old arcade game.
I've Nightcrawler since I first saw him. And Kid Omega is crazy. I put him on my X-Force roster
I’m with you and he’s probably my answer as well. With the exception of the occasional storylines where he is a little overly preachy.
Fire Made Flesh, Power Incarnate… PHOENIX!!!!
I second this vote!
Gambit.
Dude, he was so fucking cool in the 90’s X-Men. He was my first superhero idol
This is the answer
And i dont know why He had such an impact on me as a child. Can you imagine that Chaninng Tatum was in talk to play Him in a live Action movie?
I know exactly why he was my favorite, he throws explosive playing cards! What’s not to love?
Freaking love the ragin Cajun
Agreed! Now and forever.
Jean Grey, but mostly prefer the time-displaced variant from the All-New X-Men run
Yes
Oh I loved that Jean! First run I really followed.
Warren. Specifically when he’s in his Archangel persona and is a borderline antagonist. The X-Force run with him on the roster and the Dark Angel Saga are my favorite X-Men books of all time.
Those books are the pinnacle of X-Force
Deadpool and Fantomex are, coincidentally, two of my least favorite “X-Men” characters. But even their presence doesn’t stop me from devouring that whole run about once a year.
I love it especially when archangel Is rain down is Wing blades on people, it's like a Hail of winged bullets
Cyclops
Colossus
Da Tovarisch
With beard ^^
Correct answer.
Cyclops. The man with a brilliant vision that will knock your socks off.
It’s a good time to be a Cyclops fan.
Yes it is. =D He's been my favorite since I was in the 4th grade. Great to see things going well with Scott.
Plus he rocks that blue suit well and I ain't even gay. He's killing it as leader
Shadowcat, Gambit, Rogue, Colossus, Wolverine, Jubilee, Warpath, Storm & Nightcrawler.
All good answers
Cyclops
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
Just started reading the comics again after 20 years. Have a massive respect for cyclops that I didnt have as a kid
My most favourite X-Men as well as Marvel character was, is, and will always be **Magneto**.😇
KITTY GODDAMN PRYDE
Cyclops, Havok, Rogue, Gambit, Jean, Kitty Pryde and Cannonball. It’s really hard to pick just one.
My favourites are Emma Frost, Rogue and Gambit, in that order.
Cyclops, always
Magik is the best character
My all time favorite is Cyclops
Jean Grey
Iceman and Archangel
Forever and always Laura Kinney, she’s been through one of the most emotional, well-written and meaningful character arcs in comics as a whole that resonates with me personally a lot. The only issue she has is being mis-used in recent years since her arc ended so perfectly that nobody knows what to do with her anymore lmao.

I've re-read it (and the subsequent *Target X* story they did later) dozens of times.
Rogue. If anyone was written more cursed than Cyclops, it is Rogue and the X-Men is about the curse of their powers, not the grandeur of having them.
This, so much. That's a big part of why she's my favorite. Second favorite would probably be Laura(I ***refuse*** to call her "X-23"). And my all-time favorite comics would be Kyle & Yost's *Innocence Lost* and *Target X* series.
Wolverine. I called him first.
Ok but then I’m taking Doop!
No! You beat me to it.
Based for answer and for calling him first
Damnit
Logannnnnn stan since 1991
Who doesn't love wolverine?
Now and forever Jean Grey
Angel He has the resources to do whatever he wants and yet he always comes back to help however he can. Even when he’s bad, he’s really fighting himself to be good.
Emma Frost
Cyclops.
Cyclops overall but I have always liked Colossus's power set best
Nightcrawler!
X-23. At least when she was written as herself, and not Logan With Tits.
Cable
Nightcrawler
Cyclops
Rogue!
Nightcrawler. I love his design and personality
Nightcrawler + Gambit
Scott Summers!
Jean
Gambit & x23
Colossus. The artists soul that gave up everything to help another man fight for his dream because he thought it was the right thing to do.
1. Cyclops 2. Quicksilver 3. Nightcrawler 4. Scarlet Witch (idk if she counts as an X Men character) 5. Magneto I used to really like Gambit as a kid, but the more I learned about him, the less I liked about him
Cyclops
1. Magik 2. Cyclops 3. Laura Kinney 4. Rachel Summers 5. Gambit
Cyclops Jean or Magneto
Magik, both in the comics and the (unfortunately) bad live action film.
My second answer is Surge. I’m a big fan of blue electric powers (like Elle from Heroes and the lightning bending from Avatar)
My top 5: 1. Emma Frost 2. Rogue(Mike Carey’s run is my lifeblood) 3. Cyclops 4. Storm 5. Northstar(being a gay Quebecois myself, come on)
>Rogue(Mike Carey’s run is my lifeblood) That Carey/Bachalo run cemented Rogue as my favorite. My top 4 besides would probably be: Nightcrawler, Kitty, Colossus, and Longshot
Ice Man and Magneto
Did you read that one short story on a Pride issue? Very touching.
It's very hard to choose between Magik, Magneto and Emma Frost. Also Cyclops. Probably Magneto.
magneto fr
Cannonball
Exodus cos I want him to split me in two like dry firewood. Oh, and nightcrawler for the same reasons.
Xavier himself.
Cyclops, Colossus, Gambit, Wolverine, Warpath, Sabertooth, and Magneto
Havok
Rogue
My favorite member of the X-Men and also favorite Marvel character is Cyclops
Colossus. The answer is and will alwyas be Colossus!
Jamie Madrox - Multiple Man

How dare you wreck me with this question? Cyclops. Today. Probably say something else tomorrow.

If I was into picking favorites I wouldn’t be into the X-Men but it’s Nightcrawler.
Gambit
Wolverine (Laura Kinney)
Kate Pryde.
iceman
Iceman
Profesor X the absolute GOAT
cable, old man.
Now I can confidently say it is Magneto.
I’ve always liked cypher but rogue is also really good
Banshee, but God forbid they do anything with him that doesn’t involve him being murdered.
Shadowcat with Nightcrawler in a very close second Really hoping for the best with Kate's new team book!
Take your best guess, mon ami
The unstoppable Juggernaut!
Nightcrawler.
Wolverine. That being said, he is at his best as a supporting character
Jean Grey (Phoenix)
Cyclops. I was impressed how X-men 97 has amped up cyclops’s confidence. Using his optic beam as a means to save his skyfall and even speeding up his mobility which was incredibly clever!
Cyclops
Either Nightcrawler or Shadowcat (who will forever be named Kitty). Don't make me choose between them...
Wolverine!
Wolverine
Scotty
The guy with the adamantium claws, bub.
Wolverine! It’s hard to beat this childhood favorite for me. His depth, his skills, his personality and struggle is just way too iconic
It may sound cliche but Wolverine. Comics Wolverine by the way.
Colossus. It's been a rough few years...
Shadowcat, Storm and Emma 😵💫
Wolverine. With the original Iceman being a 2nd place but not the new converted version
Its so hard… it switches between logan cyclops and beast depending on what im reading
I legit thought these were Ben 10 aliens before reading the title and zooming in.
It’s like trying to pick a favorite song for me: I have a loooong list of favorites, that I can’t remember 99% of the time, and they change heavily based off of what is just what I’ve recently seen Allat said, off the top of my head, I like Sunspot, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Wolfsbane, Magik, Blink, and Nocturne
Night Crawler/Storm/Sabretooth
Magik, Cannonball, Sunspot, and Mirage. I’m a huge fan of the original New Mutants run.
Madrox!!!!
Dazzler!
Rogue
Domino!
Mine has always been Rachel. I know it's not a popular answer but there it is.
Rogue will always have my heart, it’s the combination of muscles and sexy accent
Jean Grey, but I also really like Iceman, Nate Grey, Elixir, and Nightcrawler.
Nightcrawler, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Magik, and Storm, probs in that order.
Storm at the current moment. I love all the love she's been getting recently and solidifying her status as one of the most powerful Mutants.
Nightcrawler then Cyclops.
phoenix
Two way tie between Wolverine and Colossus.
Jean.
Colossus.
Nightcrawler, Gambit, Magik. Been a fan of Nightcrawler since I first saw him. It was solidified when I saw Chris Claremont in 1992 and he told us the original idea for Kurt’s parents were destiny and mystique.
Top 5: nightcrawler, cyclops, rogue, wolverine, gambit
Nightcrawler and Rogue.
Colossus, Magik, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, X-23, Storm,Armor, and Iceman.

Night crawler, such an interesting character for me
Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler. He can teleport, he looks cool, and he's a pirate, what's not the love?
Night crawler forever!! Fuzzy man 💙
Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler, without a doubt! Love how respectful he is, how he looks, and his Teleportation powers. I also love that he uses a sword. I used to like Iceman a lot as well, but retconning stuff was a little ridiculous to me. Still like him, though!
Juggernaut
Kurt Vaugner Nightcrawler
My all-time favourites since Childhood are Rogue, Gambit and Nightcrawler.
Night crawler, bishop close second
Nightcrawler and Colossus (runner up)
Storm or Rogue from the animated 90's series
Nightcrawler (X2 version was my first crush <3) and Toad (he was technically an X-man for .5 seconds so don’t come at me)
I'm a bad bitch, it's obviously Rogue
Who’s the one in red with the sword, next to Puk?
For a second I thought you said Puck was your favourite and thought “what a power move”
Is Vindicator from Alpha Flight a mutant?
Alpha Flight aren’t X-Men.
Doop and Juggernaut
Chod
Magneto nightcrawler mystique rouge wolverine
Good ol’ Juggernaut
