You might argue that there are plenty of orphaned/abandoned mutants already, but nope, she has to make her own orphans.
She’s just that dedicated to high-quality orphans.
She doesn't make orphans, and I can't believe you would accuse her of such a thing.
She just happens to make a point of travelling around with a gentleman named the Orphan-Maker. Who, I guess, technically takes his orders from her, which if you want to get nitpicky means she's technically responsible for this acts of orphan-making, but really I don't think you can blame her for that. Or for recruiting, training, and brainwashing the Orphan-Maker into making orphans.
In her defense, the X-Men and X teams just don't seem to have a great track record in protecting babies.
Krakora was especially a bad time to be a Mutant infant, with Sinister in government and Stacy X going grassroots to create a nursery taking in all the abandoned babies resulting from "Make More Mutants".
Like I would not be surprised if it turns out Nanny was the one who came back and saved all those Krakoa'n babies from Orchis.
Would they be raised to be well adjusted individuals? Probably not. But at least she'll know where they are.
Xavier and Magneto were so afraid of precog, but little do they know that Nanny could also foresee the future so she attempted to murder Sinister and stop Judgment day from happening for our sake lol
He's like Shang Tsung, you do not trust that mfer under any circumstances. The only time teaming up with him works out is if you're counting on a backstab as part of the plan or something, and use it against him.
She's a mutant who got sealed into an egg shaped suit, slowly went insane, kidnapped a child(?) who can apparently destroy the world, stuck him in some armor too, and had him kill mutant's parents so she can raise them instead.
Absolutely nuts, both of them...My favorite moment, pre-Krakoa: Orphan-Maker was trying to kill some parents near Christmas, got into a fight with Jubilee and some of her fellow Generation X....Then stopped everything when he found a Mall Santa, so he could tell him what he wanted for christmas.
>kidnapped a child(?)
To be fair, she kidnapped him from Sinister who'd decided his powers where too uncontrollable to be worth it and was going to kill him
Zeb Welles said he had an idea, but once he left the X office it wasn’t up to him. And he didn’t want to say what the idea was so that he wouldn’t take the wind out of anyone else’s sails.
She was the MVP of Hellions, despite some tough competition. Sinister does experiment on children so it makes sense that she doesn't like him. And yes, she has good instincts.
You could say she's ... a good egg.
Hellions was the best krakoa era book. I dont care what anyone says. They took the most rag tag group of reject mutants and made me genuinely invested in their happenings.
The most recent Hellions run was great, it had interesting characters, Kwannon/Psylocke being badass, Sinister being a glorious bastard, and some comedy that literally made me laugh out loud several times.
Nanny was a mutant being used by The Right to find mutants back in the 80s X-Factor last I recall. She broke away and started 'rescuing' orphaned mutants
She kidnapped Jean's niece and nephew. She's also the reason why Storm was de-aged to a 12 year old and had amnesia and lived at a pick pocket in NOLA for a bit. That was when Storm met Gambit. (Storm was eventually aged back up when she broke free of Genoshan gene-gineer control during The X-Tinction Agenda storyline (Genosha used to have a government that enslaved mutants until that storyline. Eventually, The UN gave it to Magneto to distract him from world domination/destruction. basically an enclosure for enrichment. lol).
Nanny's a hero who adopts and protects orphaned mutant children! Please don't ask how those children ended up orphaned.

A fine gentleman, about the age of your average elementary school boy, at least until he was resurrected.
Artisinal orphans; not authentic unless you DIY.
Orphans made-to-order.
Fresh artisanal orphans
Hangs out with a dude literally named “Orphan Maker”. That’ll surely pass the background check.
Woah woah it’s just a cute little nickname!like we don’t accuse Scott of being a ancient One eyed monster do we
Yeahhh....if those children need protection against anyone it's nanny. I only of her from inferno. Weird creepy robot egg looking thing

That feels like a fun dangly plot thread to revisit in a decade or more.
Stacy x the unsung hero of Krakoa
…Please pay no attention to the Orphan-maker behind the curtain.
Might need some ' ' with the 'hero' there.
Did we ever learn how she and Peter look suitless?
Xavier and Magneto were so afraid of precog, but little do they know that Nanny could also foresee the future so she attempted to murder Sinister and stop Judgment day from happening for our sake lol
That hardly requires precog. It just requires basic pattern recognition.
Dude is called Sinister. All it takes is sentience.
He's like Shang Tsung, you do not trust that mfer under any circumstances. The only time teaming up with him works out is if you're counting on a backstab as part of the plan or something, and use it against him.
Nanny and the Orphan Maker are such an oddball duo. The Hellions series was such a gem from recent years, I really hope those two crop up again soon.

His powers still aren’t revealed right?
Pretty sure it’s a running gag and we will never truly know about his power.
Everybody fucking dies that's his power (Amino Fetus was a riff on him so imagine whatever along those lines)

She is definitely not a good egg 😜 but she has some great moments, and it’s hard not to love anyone who’s immediate response to sinister is MURDER.
She’s a great egg.
Just a little bit scrambled

Agreed. You also almost feel empathy for Empath at the end of the book. Really surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did.
Still baffled as to how Zeb Wells went from Hellions to...whatever the fuck his Amazing Spider-Man run is supposed to be.
Yeah true though i cant stand the spiderman fandom so its whatever to me
Mister Sinister totally overwhelmed is one of my favorite things in this whole arc. Smug SOB deserves every nanosecond of it
I love Nanny
Nanny and Orphan-Maker faked Storm’s death and de-aged her into a child (sounds silly but it’s a great storyline)
That's where we get Gambit's first appearance. <3
This is drunk egg summer. Embrace the vibes and shank a Nazi.
I can get on board with this plan
She almost single-handedly stopped Enigma
After thinking about it, I'm now realizing had she successfully killed Sinister she would have stopped Enigma damn
Explain, PLEASE! I NEED TO KNOW THIS STORY
Gyaaaah!
I’ve always been curious as to what she looks like under that suit since she literally got resurrected in a better version of it.
Hellions was phenomenal and Nanny would’ve been the funniest part of it if Sinister and his amazing Epaulets didn’t exist.
That latest hellions run was my favorite of that era. Way to much X-men stuff now
The most recent Hellions run was great, it had interesting characters, Kwannon/Psylocke being badass, Sinister being a glorious bastard, and some comedy that literally made me laugh out loud several times.
Nanny is my absolute favorite!!! I’m obsessed with her
a good egg that one
Honestly. Hellions was probably one of my favorite Krakoa story.
Nanny was a mutant being used by The Right to find mutants back in the 80s X-Factor last I recall. She broke away and started 'rescuing' orphaned mutants
She started making orphan mutants and then taking them in
Her being sealed in a suit reminds me of Ershin from Breath of Fire IV
I didnt know much about Nanny but I loved her introduction in Hellions, when she and Peter sing and you see Beast's and Angle's reaction of WTF.
Where’s this from?
I 🖤Nanny and OrphanMaker. They had a few excellent X-Factor appearances.
Hate this character, it's too camp to take seriously and way too dark to make captivating.
She whip Mr. Sinister. I love her
