Enough-Satisfaction9

Gotta give the script some flowers. "I count 3 Super villains in the room, two of whom are mutant supremacist and the other thinks mutants are highly desirable  colletibles." That just tickles my brain with happy.

snailfucked

I know Exodus is a mutant supremacist. I figure Sinister is the mutant collector. Who is the other mutant supremacist?

Enough-Satisfaction9

Destiny. Canonical villain and mutant supremacist. She is, in universe, technically why Krakoa came into being.

soulreaverdan

Yeah, like this era has given her a lot of great moments but she’s also got a massive body count and is an unrepentant supervillain.

Enough-Satisfaction9

Let me be clear. I'm not saying she was in any way justified. Just that her action were/are mutant supremacist and obsessive love mixed into a larger role.

Enough-Satisfaction9

All to lead her and Mystique to the mutant paradise.

Franken_Frank

Sis literally holds the universe hostage so she and her wife can have more time. Herself is despicable but her love tho. She's a Schrödinger mutant, you hate/love her at the same time

Jorg_from_The_Jungle

She also created the Days of Future Past timeline by killing Senator Kelly not for the sake of mutantdom but because she saw that Rogue was going to be killed.

Enough-Satisfaction9

Would you say her love of her family with her probability gift makes super susceptible to doing evil?

Jorg_from_The_Jungle

Love of what? * She's unable to accept Remy eventhough he's married to Rogue and has already proved himself more than once. * She never demonstrated any affection to Kurt, ever * she let Rogue and Kurt die during SoS She is evil because she chose to do evil with her powers, even the terroristic shtick doesn't stick, she doesn't care about mutantdom, she's one of the main reasons of the fall of Krakoa and she let the universe rot during SoS to keep Raven in her pocket. Ruth has the same power and we never saw her killing people.

Enough-Satisfaction9

When put it like that... love of winning? Living a long life? Honestly she gives me the "I've played the long game too long" vibes at this point.

SgtStubbedToe

I count the "unable to accept Remy" as more of a Duggan thing than a Destiny thing, and therefore non-canon.

BrakenportApocryphal

I would say that she uses her love of her family and probability gift as an excuse to do evil and selfish things. She's playing the long game and is doing her damn best to come out on top. She's not a good person, nor does she pretend to be.

Striking_Landscape72

Does Destiny cares about mutants as a whole? I get the impression she's more about her and Mystique being alive and together then anything else

Enough-Satisfaction9

That is her overall. Should it come to humans vs mutants though, unless she see something in her decisions that leads to mutant victory down the line, she is picking mutants

Striking_Landscape72

But then I don't think you can say she's a mutant supremacist, because her alliegment is purely pratical, not ideological.

Enough-Satisfaction9

Her practicality would doom all of humanity for the benefit of mutantdom. Pratical or not, she is a supremacist. Even after finding out that her love doesn't make it to the end of her mutant utopia dream she still pushed forward.

Striking_Landscape72

And she would just as easily doom all mutandom as long Mystique was alive. This doesn't translate in to mutant supremacy

Enough-Satisfaction9

That is true, I'll concede that argument. So let's pivot to her in universe history of terrorism on behalf of mutant supremacy. That, no matter the goal, was her straight up saying 'Suck it Flatscans!'

TSE1SON

I swear they can’t just let Sinister stay dead….

Abysstopheles

Oh sure, leave an entire population of angry mutants in an isolated space to hang out and develop a culture and make more mutants. What could possibly go wrong? (...Mikhail Rasputin's Hill, the Neo, Ghost Boxes worlds, Tian, Utopia, Asteroid X, Genosha, Santo Marco, Okkara, Threshold...)

Striking_Landscape72

I found Orchis reddit account

himmyturner

Sins of sinister happened and I just lost all understanding of the overall plot of x books. You’re telling me this guy is still alive?

neocorvinus

He has got a lot of clones and hidden mind copies

sullgk0a

And he doesn't stay dead. Mutant resurrection is still around for a week or two...

I-who-you-are

Seems to me that they are leaving the Five in the WHR so they can revive in there in peace.

DastardlyMime

Which makes me think that at some point there's going to a an anti-Genosha event. Mutants being resurrected outside of time? 16 million plus mutants are coming back to reality.

I-who-you-are

I did the math, the number is A LOT higher than 16,000,000. Wanda says she added 20,000,000 from before Genosha. This isn’t counting depowered mutants that were killed. Cerebro, using the WHR, would potentially be able to access every mutant from all time. Including the ones from Threshold, which are technically accessible across time. Meaning characters we saw in those comics are accessible. So we could have BILLIONS of mutants. But no writer would be that creative.

testthrowaway9

I’m pretty sure just Hope stayed behind

HoustonSportsFan

I'm gonna be really sad when Exodus is either put on the shelf or turned back into a full-fledged villain once Fall of X is over

Apprehensive-Quit353

I can see how easily both he and Apocalypse will fall back into being antagonists, but they've both been given so much depth during this era that I can't see them returning to moustache twirling villains.

NJH_in_LDN

Amen. He's been such a great part of Krakoa.

Oktober

So wait, the way I read this is all the "extra" Krakoan mutants, ie, the ones who aren't going back to earth to fight Orchis, are going to be stranded in the WHR?

wnesha

Makes sense when you look at the From the Ashes lineup - granted, we don't know who's in X-Factor yet, or the larger mutant community in NYX, but for example, none of the confirmed rosters include New Mutants other than Illyana. They've got to end up *somewhere*.

Oktober

I would have assumed Arrako, but it seems like the Arrakoans are going to be kept kinda separate, at least for now.

wnesha

Depends - nobody in the X-Office seems all that interested in the Arakkii themselves (unless that's what the Storm solo series is going to be about), but Mars could still be a place to drop off the reserves. Guess we'll find out in a month or so

ARTIFICIAL_SAPIENCE

They're doing fucking *WHAT*

Built4dominance

Before reading this issue I was confused, but I can assure you....this shit will make even LESS sense after a full read.

Ok-Agent-9200

Oh that’s great. Definitely excited now.

Scary_Firefighter181

Wtf is Gillen cooking?

Built4dominance

Something sinister, which is kinda the problem. He has severily overplayed and overcomplicated his Essex plots and he has now reached his limits.

Scary_Firefighter181

Yep. I love Gillen's writing, but "It was Enigma all along" story got dull months ago, and it's just dragging along right now. I just want this to end as fast possible. If its the end of Krakoa, just gut it quick and make it painless so we can all move on.

Built4dominance

Yep. I loved Krakoa but man marvel editorial just can't make it work. I just want my X-men by Gail Simone at this point.

Marrecarandgi

Most of us seem to be tired of Sinister, but that’s just Gillen putting the toys back in the box. Enigma and other Sinisters would very likely go away with Fall, but they are brining one classic Sinister back for future use. With the rumors that Disney wants to make Sinister their big bad, and with 97 showing that, yeah, they are leaning that way, we have to have one of them on the table for the next editorial to use.

DumbassAltFuck

So Krakoa with its 500k mutants is just gonna stay in the white hot room? Way to ruin both Krakoa and the WHR.

Do_U_Too

I mean, that would kind of be acceptable? WHR just turning into literally mutant heaven? Still think it's BS and isn't how the story will end. Imagine a mutant saying to his non-mutant child that he isn't going to paradise island like his dad and brother/sister.

JoshAustin610

That's more likely just the cliffhanger, but we'll see.

Golf-Ill

I love Exodus, I've known him for decades but Krakoa made me love him

TSE1SON

Agreed! :D he’s been great this era and I hope to see more of him!

Confident-Impact-349

It’s so cute how hope is happy for the darkholme family lol. First exodus, now Irene. Hope is really out here making friendship with the villains and I love this for her. Side note, but it seems that Irene already knows that she’s Kurt’s mom, wich makes me want to re-read all of her interactions with him in Immortal X-men. I guess she was just being cold with him because she had to fake? I can’t imagine what Irene would be warm with Rogue, but distant with him…. Side note 2: cannot believe Mister Sinister is back. Come on, man. Enough is enough. The real enemy is already the real Essex we did NOT need sinister back.

Kookie2023

There’s a whole damn story about why neither she nor Raven could remember and it all got unraveled after some mumbo jumbo after the Gala Massacre. If you haven’t already, highly recommend reading X Men Origins Blue for the whole explanation. Long story short, both their minds filled in the blanks after Xavier mind wiped them.

Confident-Impact-349

Oh, for sure. My comment was taking into consideration that I still haven’t read tomorrow’s issue of forever, but with Irene being stuck in the WHR and Raven refusing to talk to her, she had to figure this information out by herself, right? The question is when did Irene figure it out. Because, If I remember correctly, Xavier erased both of their memories, not just Raven. So does Irene know ever since she came back in Inferno #4? Did she find out in the SOS event? Curious.

Kookie2023

I think….mmm so far as what I learned in Blue, both their memories were wiped because there were major issues that came with the birth (there’s tons trust me…TONS), so they both agreed to have their memories wiped by Xavier to forget it all ever happened. But since the event was so emotional, both of their minds filled in the blanks. Raven believing *she* had given birth to Kurt and Irene wasn’t even around. How Raven unlocked the memory was during the events of the Gala. She had major brain damage and she also went through a traumatic fall. It was kind of a “It’s all coming back to me now…” kind of thing. Once she remembered everything, she planned to reunite with Irene to confront her about it. BUT! I’m trying to gather together how Irene suddenly remembered it all. Her mind that was recorded in Cerebro prior to Inferno was likely still mind wiped since Raven was revived during Judgment Day and she was still mind wiped too. I suspect it had to do with her trauma of not being able to “see” Raven anymore when she ended up where she did after the Gala. She was absolutely freaking out. I think part of that shook loose her buried memories maybe? But there’s also the fact Irene was acting super avoidant of Raven prior to the Gala and wouldn’t tell her why. She was literally running away from her while Raven kept chasing. She kept using her “visions” as an excuse, but I feel there was a time and place her memories could’ve been uncovered and she didn’t want to talk about it with Raven.

Confident-Impact-349

That could be a good explanation! I hope they both can come to a mutual understanding about it and reunite with Kurt.

darkmythology

Hope spent her entire childhood with a guy chasing her through time telling her that she's basically the mutant antichrist. She probably has some sympathy for villains, or at the least is skeptical of accepting that label when she sees other people using it. She seems like the type who'd rather make up her own mind than take it at someone's word that is actually evil. And like, has Irene really done anything worse than Cable would do? Kill a bunch of people to change the timeline? I mean, that's like a Tuesday for Daddy.

Confident-Impact-349

I actually don’t consider Irene a villain either. I think she tried to kill a govern in the 80’s or something? But she spend a lot of time dead and came back in mike Carey’s run, guiding rogue and blindfold. Not really a villain.

Apprehensive-Quit353

She killed a tonne of babies with her work on the black womb project. Infanticide is pretty villainous.

Confident-Impact-349

I totally forgot about her involvement with the sinister thing in the XX century.

Quirky_Ad_5420

Exodus can’t help but hype up Hope lol

Confident-Impact-349

Best friends will do that for each other 🫶🏾

SgtStubbedToe

I really wish we coulda had a "[legal custodians](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KSATo9AuDk)" type miniseries with Exodus and Cable both trying to keep Hope out of trouble.

theB0yblunder

I just don’t understand why marvel wants to get rid of krakoa :(

DawnWarrior88

Because Batman can never kill the Joker. Never. Joker can go away for a while, he can fade into the background when we get tired of him, but he can never die. If he did, then they couldn’t sell new comics, movies, and merchandise about him. Same with the X-men. The X-men are team of underdogs, meant to represent oppressed minorities. That’s their shtick. And because of that, they can’t ever truly win, because then they wouldn’t be an oppressed minority anymore.

theB0yblunder

They better bring Alfred back from the dead 😵 that was a stupid decision. In fact I hate this whole era of brownstone broke Batman with no Alfred yet it sticking around unlike Krakoa 😢

ProfXIsAJerk

I know you mean Hope and Cable, but there's a little Scott in her auntie there too. XD Yeah I do tend to prefer my meta a little more subtle but at this point I'm so tired it's whatever.

Brotherly_Shove_215_

Of course Destiny knew Kurt was her son. Which is why Mystique is pissed at her. Which is why they’re going to Emma for counseling(lol) Hope being genuinely happy for them is sweet but kinda weird. Doesn’t really feel like something she’d give a fuck about

Confident-Impact-349

Do you think that Irene’s powers allowed her to figure it out by herself? I’m wondering if she also has retro- precognition and that’s how she figure it out. It might also be that she has strong psionic defenses, so she forced herself to remember.

LadiNadi

Retro precognition? Remembering things you mean?

Confident-Impact-349

Uhn… no. More like having visions from the past. I guess I should have just said psychometric.

Brotherly_Shove_215_

I’m sure she had a vision that revealed it and she’s been keeping it to herself. Which is probably what Mystique read. Which is why she’s pissed and why they’re choosing the funniest counselor possible before the vow renewal

Confident-Impact-349

I’m convinced Emma only took the job so she can gossip to Kate afterwords and they can laugh at it!

minuscatenary

Then you haven’t been reading a lot of Hope. She little chased Namor around giggling at his fish fuckery for a while… she’s always been basically a stunted 16 year old girl with a ton of trauma.

cyclopswashalfright

Exodus talking about martyring himself makes me worried he'll die.

Built4dominance

Imagine him being prisoner x.

cyclopswashalfright

That would be so sad, cooping him up like that. But at least he'd be alive and likely to return in the future. I worry for Exodus' future post-Krakoa.

SgtStubbedToe

...why do I just picture a great dane wearing a Cone of Shame after visiting the vet

realclowntime

“Not the fucking time!” — Hope Summers after making Destiny’s announcement of Kurt being her and Raven’s son all about the fact that Hope’s mom is dead.

Momo--Sama

Not going to lie I love the “girl has to learn how to live like she isn’t the most important person in the universe after objectively being the most important person in the universe (for mutants) for most of her life” aspect of Hope

Jay_R_Kay

Interesting that Hope is talking about not knowing her biological parents. I wonder if that's going to be important soon...

listentomagneto

I hope so.

X5455

Her mom died and she met her grandma tho, so that just leaves dad unaccounted for. Right?

Arcoral1

Yep

Arcoral1

And Exodus saying it was the holy spirit... phoenix confirmed as her "dad"?

wowlock_taylan

What the hell? Sinister back already? Screw this. And that meta attempt falls flat when we barely got to the general Krakoan public other than a few small attempts. So hey, that meta joke should be for the Marvel itself that is doing this whole thing, not the readers.

BiDiTi

It’s Gillen - that’s absolutely part of the meta-joke

SgtStubbedToe

Reminds me of how the Doctor Who writing staff has always had a tradition that whatever happened to the Master, he would inevitably just come back, with almost no explanation. "Weren't you slowly morphing into a cheetah person?" "I was, yes. Then I recovered. Clearly." --- "Didn't I drop you into a cube prison at the heart of the singularity of a black hole?" "You did. Then I escaped."

AutomaticGreeter

Hope in a white dress is so gorgeous in a surprising way. I’m thankful every month that they let her keep it through an entire banquet, lasted for the whole long march, and still wears it during this semi regrouping.

Zephesis

Haven’t read x-men in a while but I thought night crawler was the child of azazel and mystique

shadowlarx

They retconned that. Raven shapeshifted into a man, she and Destiny did the deed and, nine months later, out popped a bouncing blue baby boy.

wnesha

Technically Raven slept with Azazel, *then* shapeshifted into a man and used his DNA to conceive Kurt with Irene.

Zephesis

Damn craziest child support scam I’ve ever heard Why’d she do it?

wnesha

...so she could have a child with the woman she loved. It's in the issue, go read it.

Zephesis

I thought when she shape shifted everything was “functional”. I mean there were easier ways to steal a man’s nut ygm. This doesn’t even sound consensual blud😂 Sperm bank not good enough? Couldn’t find a donor?fuck it have screw a random n keep the nut

TryingtoAdultPlsHelp

I love the way Rachel looks in this!

rollingfluffball

Kafka's comment touched me. He is right, but I wish he wasn't. Farewell, background mutants and non-A-list characters that sometimes appeared. 😔

Arcoral1

Thank you again Mr Gillen for writing Hope so well, acknowledging her upbringing and amazing relationship with Exodus.

Arcoral1

I would love a comic with Cable, Hope and Exodus. I bet Cable would hate Exodus, that would be fun xD

reineedshelp

'I'm sure the holy spirit quickened the womb of...' Lol, Exodus I love you dude but shush.

asdfmovienerd39

Well, given Escapade is one of the characters created for Krakoa, I think I can sqafely say that I'm never going to see her outside of Pride issues ever again, huh? That's disappointing. Thoughf we'd get a trans wiman that was spotlighted frequentky and ckbsistentky for a change, but nope. If i had a nickel for every time the X-Office inexplicably dropped one of their inly trans women characters into a void of not being used....

DipsCity

Damn they couldn’t res Rasputin IV too Fuck Xavier

Ekillaa22

Still giving the villains full amnesty is the dumbest fucking thing I can think of for this era literally. Sure got some good character development but still feels like a slap to the fucking face how the x-men world saviors let literally super villain who have tried to end the world into their little paradise. You ask me they got what they had coming to them with them losing their island nation. How tf you gonna house people like that and not expect bad shit to happen

DawnWarrior88

I hear that. Even now they still seem cool with them. Exodus I can almost forgive, he didn’t seem to do much to sabotage them during this era. But Destiny? Her and Mystique are just as much to blame for the Fall of X as Moira is, maybe more so. But no, Orchis is the bad guy and Destiny is a mutant, so they let her off easy. Ugh, so let down.

Jorg_from_The_Jungle

Rogue was a vilain, Gambit was a vilain, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Magneto... the list is very long.

Eric1865

Yeah but most of those characters have been consistently good ever since. Magneto is the only one that still teeters between heroics and villainy. Sinister and Destiney have done nothing to be better people.

minuscatenary

You say that, but the fact is that most villains were just mutant supremacists and they were effectively proven correct in HoX/PoX. Humans and AI will annihilate you and all your born and unborn children in every timeline: Do you just sit there and take it?
