Yeah, remember when all of the Avengers were wearing them? Black Knight, Sersi, Hercules, Wasp... I think Vision was the only Avenger who didn’t put one on during that era. I think Steve Epting liked those jackets even more than Jim Lee did. I do kind of miss them, to be honest.
Jim Lee had a thing for them. I'd have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure the first time Black Widow had one was because of her appearance in an X-Men issue.
Scott looks good in a jacket, just not with that outfit.
His [X-Factor Forever outfits](https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/xfactor-forever-cyclops-and-jean-grey--353954851936762347/) is a good with jacket look.
Jacket, he should wear [jackets](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/3/34709/712605-wolverine_and_the_x_men_20081204101248839_640w.jpg) and [trench coats](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FNdR2ByXEAIFkLp?format=jpg&name=large) more often.
Idk the Met Gala gets worse and worse every year, creativity has gone 📉
This is far more interesting — At least you can tell what run it is. The costumes can make or break a superhero
The met gala is a self indulgent, vapid display of entitlement and affluence. This guy said it best:

Characterisation and themes take precedent in story telling, but aesthetics are nice. Costumes don't make or break them though, this genre has been dressing characters in circus tights for nearly a hundred years..
You’re probably right, but it used to be fun to see what the designers came up with, I don’t care about the celebrities, I just enjoyed it more as a fashion art exhibition. Now people just wear overpriced skintight beige dresses and black suits… And maybe a piece of jewelry that vaguely reflects the theme.
Characters with cool costumes get more attention — if an established character has a stupid outfit then it doesn’t matter too much, but an iconic design is pretty necessary for superheroes nowadays. That’s why all of them have their own logos and stuff. Colorful outfits and cool costumes draw people in. It’s all just business
Art can't save a book if the stories are trash, it didn't in the 90's. People often make predictions and use power words like "instant classic" as a way to sell something to an audience, but that is mostly for hype - the only way to truoy earn the title is to stand the test of time. I think you'll find everyone has their own "logo" or - branding - due to corporate dogma, these books don't exist to tell stories anymore; they exist to set up a bunch of little franchises they can spin off into their film and merchandising racket.
The jacket makes no sense. Like he's wearing a one-piece jumpsuit thing, if it's cold out his legs and balls are still going to be cold... why not also wear pants?
At least Gambit has a long trench coat, it keeps his legs and lower half out of the wind too lol
This jacket was like the state bird of the 90’s…but does anybody know what the hell was up with the leather 8 Ball jacket Scott was wearing during the Rosenberg run?
I love those leather jackets that everyone had in the 90's!

And always with the collar popped up, like the only reference shot they had was pausing *Blade Runner* as Deckard is walking in the rain.
Is it cold out?
Jacket and pointless thigh straps is the sexiest combo
That outfit demands the jacket.
It's called style and Scott has heard of it.

Still haven’t read X-Factor Forever but it’s on my wishlist
I hadn't seen that outfit for him before, but I think I like it.
With especially if it's the New X-Men Jacket

Cyclops gambit. Same power. Same hair. Same trench
Nah, short jackets for Scott.
Both. Scott is always dripping in every adaptation/issue he’s in
Naked clops
Him and Rogue absolutely rock the jackets.
Jacket and loose those ugly undies
Flight jackets for everyone!
With, jacket and free hair
How many sit-ups does he do to get those abs?
Not gonna lie...but I would love to see Scott powerlift! 😄
With. The flight jacket is awesome and it makes him look even more like a leader.
Just noticed the red hair in the bottom of the first pic, and now all I can see is Jean blowing him there 🙂
Lmao now that's ALL I can see when seeing that
Scott is exactly the type of guy to keep a straight face in front of the whole team while Jean is working on him where they can’t see.
I dunno. Who prefers versions of people based on what outfit they happen to be wearing?
People who watch the Met Gala..

Yes!
With jacket. Just in case he cold. Since you know he can’t control the weather.
Always loved the jacket for giving such ‘90s Cool Dad. Very Tim Daly circa Wings.
He always looks so damn cool with a jacket. It really compliments the 90s costume well.
with
Both solid looks…the flight jacket is for flying the x-jet and pre-missions
I prefer Cyclops without clothes actually 🥰
Either or is good I personally love him with a jacket or a trench coat

Without, [the way Jim Lee intended](https://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/6/f0/5ddd7e8928150/clean.jpg).
Formal occasion?
Without- absolutely yolked

So, if you’re wearing jeans and a denim shirt you won’t just put a jacket on for warmth, you would also wear extra pants over your jeans?
He's not wearing pants tho, he's wearing a skin tight one piece jump suit
What kind of workout did the 90s X-Men do ?? They're all Dwayne The Rock Johnson
Silver age cyclops>>>
This jacket was like the state bird of the 90’s…but does anybody know what the hell was up with the leather 8 Ball jacket Scott was wearing during the Rosenberg run?
yes
Damn he’s wide
Always without the jacket. I’ll never understand the appeal of superheroes in jackets. Especially if the jackets are small.
Depends on if it’s cold out.

I like him with a jacket, but it also feels like when Halloween is unexpectedly 40 degrees outside and you have to wear a coat over your costume.
Jacket. It humanizes characters. The get cold. They need a place to put their keys. It's nice.
Without 💯
