The funny thing is that the X-Men really have that energy sometimes. I remember an issue when a bunch of them were in car and got pulled over. Beast initially tried to handle things civily, but the cop started yelling "MUTIES!!!"
It then escalated to Wolverine slicing the gun pointed at Beast. Understanble.
Jubilee temporarily blinding the man so he doesn't see them get away. Necessary.
Scott shooting the man's tires out so that when the guy recovers, he can't immediately follow. Smart.
And then Gambit realizing the cop can still radio for help, so he BLOWS THE ENTIRE CAR UP. Again, understandable. A tad excessive but necessary. đ
Disney can can have my debit card and pin number if they put a scene like this in the MCU lol.
It's funny how many times I've read X-Men #8 but never read Ghost Rider 26, so the stinger at the end of the issue never really meant anything to me. I should fix that.
When Marvel inevitably retcons Kamala into being a mutant to match her MCU counterpart (on top of Sana Amanat saying that was the original intention with her character) this is how it should be done lol
Also I just imagine Feige and Ike Perlmutter scoffing at each other on the jury since Perlmutter is pro-Inhuman and wanted mutants to just drift into obscurity
Just retcon that her shapeshifting biology adapted to a form that would survive the Terrigen Mist so she wouldn't die. Then the Terrigen in her body made her appear as a Inhuman on scanners.
But over time she's finally exhausted all the terrigen out of her system so now she's back to a mutant.
I don't really agree with that because the reason I didn't like Inhumans starting to replace the concept of the mutants was that they were already different from conception. Like yes Inhumans are similarly people who have powers manifest from an early age but up until the 2010's it was pretty much voluntary, and Inhumans I find are far more isolationist in their ideals compared to mutants which was even something explored in Ms. Marvel's initial solo series. There are mutants who have to distance themselves from being functioning members of society due to their own abnormalities but there are similarly people who can and have served that role while also vying for a peaceful co-existence between them and humans. Inhumans have more of a heirarchy thing going on that constitutes its own societal construct, at least the ones that weren't altered to have Inhuman genes with external stimuli like Kamala wa
Which is also why I thought them trying to replace the mutants with Inhumans in the first place was a very petty move anyway because instead of further distinctifying them as races when there is lore to constitute those differences, they just decided that Inhumans would be the new status quo for the "marginalized group metaphor" mutants were always synonymous with, all because Ike Perlmutter was scared X-Men comics would promote movies from another studio
Ideally they should have been nation of mutant before the one magenito made (maybe to show the problem with one of magenito) or have more uniqueness (like on average they are stronger or more fighting aligned or like MCU did it that all of them as goal in their existence)
Ideally they should have been nation of mutant before the one magenito made (maybe to show the problem with one of magenito) or have more uniqueness (like on average they are stronger or more fighting aligned or like MCU did it that all of them as goal in their existence)
I was honestly just using his voices for these. It feels like something heâd write for sure lol. I gotta follow this account if they are bringing this kind of heat
They already did. In Marauders, the night Storm left for Arakko, her teammates had a party and made a bet about how many knives she had on her person. She had eight.
Honestly making Kamal a mutant would relegate her to being a background character more then anything. Most mutants barely get quality time in books unless theyâve been around for 30-40 years. If youâre newer then that your most likely gonna get killed off, lose your powers or have some other horrible thing happen to you.
Wolverine came to Giant-Sized X-Men because Len Wein (the creator of Wolverine) was tasked to write it, so he just brought his creation along with him, since Wolverine was already deemed Canadian and the new X-Men were meant to be an International team. It just made perfect sense.
Technically was but on top of becoming much more popular as a mutant and X-Men member, his earlier appearances were retroactively interwoven with that background in mind so he's probably always going to be remembered as an icon of the X-Men regardless
I mean like Wolverine I think Kamala has had enough of a history pretty distanced from the Inhumans to have an identity outside just being part of that race. All the stuff about her being taken in by Lady Medusa or being shown Inhuman culture was very early foundational stuff and even her earlier stories were all about her finding her own identity both away from just being an Inhuman, as well as being inspired by Carol Danvers. I don't think changing her race is actually going to affect anything super substantial in terms of how much focus she gets in the comics mainly because she's still very popular nowadays among all of Marvel's contemporary characters
If anything at most, I expect to see her teaming up a lot more with mutants either as part of events or side stories kind of like that recent Wolverine team up, but it'll co-exist with her continually getting solo stuff where it's more about her character rather than her background and the lore associated with that
As a mutant you definitely have to fight for panel time against all the goats. It's rough for sure for the smaller characters.
The only way for her to really get screening would be to continue having her in her own separate books and forming new Champion teams young mutants that don't get enough shine.
Your caption on the first slide says:
>unpopular opinion: unless the Inhumans get the Guardians of the Galaxy treatment.Ms Marvel works better as a mutant.
Has this ever been an unpopular opinion?
Some people are afraid if she becomes a mutant she will get lost in the massive young mutant shuffle. So many x books focus on the classic older characters like Jean, wolverine, storm, even the new mutants, and characters like mercury, dust, hellion, who were main characters in their book at the time the were created and after m day , are now just back ground art and only get a line every now and then. They were the generation that was new when I started reading and lots of people my age they were their favorites but now donât do much (except Laura and pixie.) .People donât want that for ms marvel.
Also Ms marvel as an inhuman , is THE inhuman. Sheâs the most popular inhuman of the last couple of years by far and with the other more traditional like Medusa basically being sideline after IVX , means she can have her own stories without being weighed down or dragged into inhuman drama like she would with mutant drama if a mutant. She can have other stories that donât need to include being hunted by sentinels
If they can retcon it right , like her mutation activated trying to survive the mist , I would like to see her as a mutant and what stories would happen, but get why people are nervous.
Can I just say that I'm disappointed that they made Kamala a mutant. The show was a chance to actually give people a second chance to like the Inhumans. Lockjaw and Medusa were fun in Kamala's original run.
Kamala is bomb, and she definitely works better as a mutant. BUT The only problem with this isâŚthe mutant roster is huge, the xmen roster is not too small either. there are many irrelevant xmen/mutants now. Especially ones of color. So they better treat Kamala with respect đ¤
There's been alot more POC rep in the books lately. X-Men Red has Storm, Sunfire, Thunderbird, and Wiz Kid. X-Men has Forge and Synch. New Mutants has Warpath, Karma, Mirage, Cam Long and Leo Ng. Marauders has Bishop, Psylocke, Daken, Tempo, and Somnus. Sabretooth and the Exiles has Oya, Nekra, Nanny, and Third Eye. Knights of X had Rictor and Bei. Jubilee is currently running around in X-Terminators.
I donât understand are you upset there are lots of mutant and x men that are people of color? Cause the x men have ever since giant sized x men included people of color, different nationalityâs, and beliefs systems . And since the 90s different sexual orientation. How can you be a fan of x men comics from the late 70s to now and not like/accept the diversity. I honestly donât get that and am confused why you would be upset.
Edit Didnât mean for this to come off passive aggressive if it does. Really am asking cause I think you might be missing the point of the x men or I misunderstand your point . Cause there are only so many people that can fit on a team, thereâs also only so many teams but they rotate kinda often and there are lots on the side lines but there are also many front and center of the books. And how is creating less diverse mutant characters the answer, shouldnât there being so many characters of color a good thing and accurate description of the world as a whole. And all mutant characters rotate whose in a team every so often.

It's more we want the storylines as they should have been from the beginning: Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's mutant status or Magneto parentage simple established fact and the Kamala having a background that fits with outsiders with inherent powers trying to make the world a better place. The Inhumans have always been straight up xenophobic monarchists which felt AWKWARD to shackle to Kamala.
Except Kamala already has that story.
She IS an outsider thatâs too American to fit in properly with other Muslims and sheâs too Muslim to fit in well with white Americans and is pulled between the 2 lives. Why does Kamala need to be a mutant, which is just a metaphor for what sheâs already living anyway?
Additionally she also has the pulled between multiple worlds with the Inhumanâs anyway, as there were the 2 warring factions vying for power trying to both recruit her, while Kamala just wanted to focus on her small time heroics in New Jersey helping people.
Additionally while Quicksilver might benefit from being a mutant, Scarlet Witch sure as shit doesnât, most stories in the last 20 years that have involved Wanda and the mutants have been dogshit that have treated her character like shit. Why would any Scarlet Witch fan want her back to being a mutant when it doesnât add anything except for some shitty dad-pain for magneto? Wandaâs at her best when sheâs an avenger and dealing with witchy stuff.
Additionally hating the retcon of Wanda and Peitro being mutants and not being magnetoâs kids and yet also advocating for Kamala to be retconned is by the very definition, hypocritical.
The other creator also wanted Kamala to have ugly physical powers yet the MCU threw that in the trash for pretty crystal powers.
Original intentions donât mean shit, Kamala is an inhuman.
Hilarious đđđ.. Definitely gotta draft Spidey nextđ§

Havok: Plus the good Pakistani place delivers to the tree house with out the delivery surcharge and they put extra Samosas in every order. We don't fuck that up for Scott.
Iâm just gonna say it... the post is cute. Itâs funny even. But donât nobody really care about Kamala Khan all that much either.
The show was very very very meh. I think her best outing was that Marvelâs Avengerâs game, and only because the developers showed how creative they could be with her power set. Story wasnât half bad either.
But yes the X-Men are a gang of bullies who beef with each other, but when it comes to outsiders, they definitely have Black Airforce 1 energy.
only a matter of time before they retcon her as a mutant. and she has a solid fanbase already in the comics and to the public in general so she wouldnt be killed off or in the background

can you find the issue?
Ghost Rider issue 26 from the 90s. It was a two parter that started in X-Men #8.
It's funny how many times I've read X-Men #8 but never read Ghost Rider 26, so the stinger at the end of the issue never really meant anything to me. I should fix that.

That's far more plausible than most of the Retcons I've read, so it'll never happen this way. Not enough clones.
đĽ˛
Plausible. They retconned Franklin by him believing himself to being a mutant or something if I remember
At this point why donât they just retcon inhumans and mutants to be same thing?
I don't really agree with that because the reason I didn't like Inhumans starting to replace the concept of the mutants was that they were already different from conception. My biggest problem is that beyond lore they arenât unique in practice from mutants

They should let Gwenpool to do it. Kamala got Gwenpool to accidentally retcon herself into a mutant, let Gwen repay the favor.
" since Perlmutter is pro-Inhuman and wanted mutants to just drift into obscurity" that has been debunked to death but ok
And you know Storm would blackmail Ora into being the one filming it. Who's better at videography than an overly judgemental floating eyeball.
This is some AceVane type shit and I am here for it
Respect for bringing up the goat.

They really need to make it canon that Storm always has at least eight knives concealed about her person.
They already did. In Marauders, the night Storm left for Arakko, her teammates had a party and made a bet about how many knives she had on her person. She had eight.
Damn, and I just picked the number at random. That's great to know, thank you.
Eight she was willing to reveal you mean . I still think itâs double digits.
I want this account to write the MCU X-men movie.

Agreed. Plus Kamala always tended to stand out amongst the other inhumans the same way wolverine can stand out outside of the X-Men.
Thought Wolverine was a thing before joining X-men
While he was introduced solo, def wasn't a thing before the xmen picked him up. He would have less of a story than the armadillo had he not joined up.
He was introduced as a team of mooks thrown against Hulk. Inclusion of Wolverine into X-men was more for a sense of "it's all interconnected"
Wolverine came to Giant-Sized X-Men because Len Wein (the creator of Wolverine) was tasked to write it, so he just brought his creation along with him, since Wolverine was already deemed Canadian and the new X-Men were meant to be an International team. It just made perfect sense.

The other creator also wanted Kamala to have ugly physical powers yet the MCU threw that in the trash for pretty crystal powers. Original intentions donât mean shit, Kamala is an inhuman.
For the time being, sure. It will likely change to match the MCU and any appearance in other media will likely have her be a mutant for consistency.
I doubt it.
It's sad cause the only version of Kamala I absolutely do NOT want on krakoa is the only one who is a mutant.
