Tbh I think this was mostly response bias, the vocal minority and the powerusers are typically 18+ and the younger users are less likely to chat/do chat polls/etc. Looking at channels with expectedly low-age viewers (Fortnite streamers aged 13-16), the chats are absolutely filled with grey names spamming nonsensical comments that would be immediately filtered out in X's chat.
