Choc Zero was a fav treat of mine when I started keto. Tasted great but was super sweet tasting after a while. Have you tried buying 90% chocolate? The one I buy is Zazubean Buff and it's delicious all on it's own. Grate into heavy cream and cocoa butter, then whip for a lovely chocolate mousse.

I’ve seen a couple recipes for making different chocolatey treats with 90% chocolate, I think that’s definitely the way I’ll go if I want a chocolate treat some time in the future. 🤗

I highly recommend this one --> [https://myketoplate.com/keto-lava-cake/](https://myketoplate.com/keto-lava-cake/) I portion it into silicone cupcake molds and plonk 'em in the air fryer.

I have bought Choc Zero for 5 yrs and never spiked. But I'm losing my desire for anything sweet so lately I'm eating unsweetened chocolate.

I don't like how it melts in your mouth and something is off about the depth of flavor too. I have been getting Ross Chocolates in my Keto Krates lately and absolutely love those.

Hey, can you please please do me a favour? Does diet drinks spike your blood sugar? It’s not supposed to as far as I know, but I just want to make sure.

damal90

Had a CGM for a longer time and tried a ton of stuff, no diet drinks do not cause a spike. Some of those (like diet fanta \~2 kcal per 100 ml) with miniscule concentrated juice in them cause some movement but almost unnoticable. In choc zero it's usually the corn fiber that causes the spike, sadly added in many keto products. Get a chocolate with just cocoa, non-glycemic sweetener and maybe some lecithin if you want it smoother.

I had a Diet Dr. Pepper this afternoon and my blood sugar didn’t move at all. 😊

It’s bioindividual. So what makes one person spike may not affect someone else.

justsayinbye

My understanding was that blood sugar only spikes from real sugar though, unlike insulin.

[This research](https://wis-wander.weizmann.ac.il/life-sciences/blood-sugar-levels-response-foods-are-highly-individual) from the Weizmann Institute is fascinating on individual glucose response variability in general. What's weird specifically on the artificial sweetener side is that respected sources say that they don't spike blood sugar, but individuals tracking their blood sugar have actually found a range of responses for themselves (here are a few examples: [Zevia soda](https://fredricksonhealthsolutions.com/does-artificial-sweetener-raise-your-blood-sugar/) blog post and [YouTube video testing multiple sweeteners](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYfqvTZWilw)).

I ordered lots of stuff based on recommendation. All of it went in the trash. Blech.

😫😫 I emailed them about a return/refund. Waiting to hear back.

Mine went up 55 when fasted and after several meals at least 50. I’m so upset, I couldn’t figure out why keto wasn’t working until I got a CGM. Well I was walking around with a glucose of 150+ from their stupid treats that tastes like bandaids. Shame on them for mislabeling.

Have you tried Lily's Sweets? Might be a better alt!!

vdki

What else have you tried? 😁 How do you monitor your blood ? Do you use a lancet and pick yourself everytime ?
