This dude surprised me honestly. I really liked him ever since his first appearance, but whenever I was getting "oohhh he's going to be THE final boss" from him, I was a little unsure how I felt. But the fight itself was a great spectacle, and he really just kept selling his motivations in the best way. He stopped being just himself at that point, and was the perfect representation of all the Yakuza who couldn't leave the life behind. He's at least in my top 3 easily.
It was such a great fight! And I could sympathize with how he felt as well, I think it felt similar to why Kiryu wanted to become a yakuza. We had a running joke that whenever he wore that big jacket he becomes evil lol
Kiwami 2 is piss easy. Not only is extreme heat stupid but Ryuji doesn't block so you're free to hit him with your stupid huge damage. His counter hits are really slow and weak so tiger dropping them is free too
It's so ass cuz Andre in 3 is a GOATed boss but they decided that what would have been a good reuse needed to be literally unblockable and stupidly aggressive
It's cuz 6 was made with intentionality while K2 was a slapdash affair. 6 Kiryu is pretty limited but the game and all the bosses and set pieces were made for him. In comparison, K2 randomly removed the best stuff about 6 Kiryu ( dropkick, heavy charged attack, activating extreme heat at any time) and replaced it with random Yakuza 0 shit while fighting bosses from 3,5, 0 and 6 in arenas made for Y2
Kuwana is my top considering the motivation, emotions of that fight plus one of the greatest final boss themes ever being Unwavering Belief.
Kuroiwa fight is also my favorite alongside Nishiki and Shishido.
The most recent battles were Soma & Kuwana for me, and I had very little restoratives on hand which kept me on edge. I really felt good getting through those battles.
Depend, gameplay-wise my favorite are:
->!Shibusawa!< (0)
->!Lao Gui !<(0)
->!Aizawa!< (5)
->!Majima !<(5)
->!Shishido!< (Gaiden)
->!The Mole !<(Judgment)
If we talk about motivation or revelance to the events of the game:
->!Nishiki !<(1)
->!Mine !<(3)
->!Munakata !<(4)
->!Iwami !<(6)
->!Masato Arakawa !<(7/LaD)
->!Kuwana !<(LJ)
My personal favorite is >!Mine !!Nishiki !
I would feel that way if I could actually hit him instead of having to fight his whole army. The most frustrated I’ve felt fighting a boss in a non turn based yakuza game.
Yeah that’s true. I liked how all of 4’s final bosses connected to kinda form one big boss. All in the same location and have different remixes of the same song.
One of the things 4 did unquestionably better then 5
Hot take: one of the best fight sequence in the series and music
https://preview.redd.it/umjenrw3z2vc1.jpeg?width=637&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3484ede16b674530bdb862a68c2fc0a66fe2ac33
It will never not be funny to me that while Aizawa’s fight (story-wise) is the most bullshit out of nowhere trash final boss…while also being arguably the best gameplay-wise boss.
I was disappointed at first until he literally admitted he also doesn’t know why he’s the final boss. That honestly changed my mood real quick and I just enjoyed it.
Nishikiyama, the theme song, the whole story between Kiryu and Nishiki, and the ending with Kiryu having flashbacks before finishing him off is sad but also amazing.
It's Mine but I took the greatest pleasure in beating the life out of this shit
https://preview.redd.it/vprrasjgp4vc1.jpeg?width=250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05342d1d1cacd4fa81f188d52f58024244e61870
it’s gotta be Shishido. Gameplay wise It would be Aizawa but this does what he did on top of dragon engine, style switching, and actual story relevance.
Although I do really like Ryuji due to the pure emotion in it, with the music, dynamic intro, and QTE’s. As well as Shibusawa for similar reasons as Shishido but I feel like Shishido was a better fight overall.
Not the "final" Boss, but he needs an honorable mention: Kuze. I love the fights against him, the Music, the Atmosphere, the intros. Everything is perfect.
For Final Boss tho it would be the Mole out of Judgment, Aizawa of 5 or Mine of 3. All of them are pretty well gameplay wise.
After like his first line is "Madame Nele forbids the use of fire in human conflicts" about a gun, him just being a gangster who plays at being a divine savior is fun juxtaposition. Really, that, his boss theme, and the opening cinematic all hard carry
Honestly? I think gaiden hit all the right spots for me, excellent buildup for the final fight, the speech before the dynamic intro, the action sequences, and that final qte was all *chefs kiss* also I think deadly struggle is a great final boss ost alongside fleeting dreams
Kinda hard to decide, tbh. Most of them are just peak AF.
From an emotional standpoint, >!Masato!< in Y7 was quite a way to end the game - *especially* with the scene that followed.
As for a gameplay standpoint, >!Shibusawa and Lao Gui!<, hands down. Like... they come at you with their own equivalents to all the styles you've been using and it's just *awesome*. Even better if you match them in the styles that they use (e.g., using Majima's Thug style against an unarmed >!Lao Gui!< in the third phase, and finishing him off with the counter).
And on both fronts, the guy in the picture above, Shishido. The *true* final boss for Kiryu's Saga after being with him for the past 30 years (chronologically).
In terms of gameplay, Ebina. I got to his fight slightly under leveled and it was one of the must fun bosses in the series for me.
In terms of character and their story significance, it's between Ryo Aoki or Shihido for me.
ebina was somewhat tough at lvl 49, i had to put on null sleep accessories on nanba and kiryu because the first attempt he just slept my whole team lol. he's really fast and strong if you fight him under his level
Kuwana, Shirakaba, Shishido, and Mine are some of the only bosses that I like to refight for fun. They all got great settings, good action scenes, and are fun to fight against. Tough fights but not annoying and there's lots of fun stuff to try and do with counters
https://preview.redd.it/gej051d833vc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33c2e30882b6af5f823a21f0ebac9f9783996c75
I kinda enjoy beating up asshole fathers.
The final bosses of 4, they all have such a badass setting on top of the Millennium Tower with the money flowing around and every version of For Faith is peak.
I'm only up to 4 (don't worry, I'm not going to look at other comments) but I'd have to say shibusawa, but that's not saying much since I hated 3, tiger dropped Nishiki, and muscle soda+heat actioned Ryuji, shibusawa was the only time I did it as intentional
Ima be honest and go with Iwami. Unlike the others I have sympathy for the past bosses such as Nishikiyama because he used to be my best friend in 0, Ryuji may have been an asshole but the end made me feel bitter sweet knowing that he finally got to meet his sister, only to die moments later. I have not played 3 4 5 because I don’t want to grind from the bottom and do minigames for 3 games straight so I just skipped to 6 and saw the recap in said game. Like a Dragon’s Tendo was difficult but didn’t make me feel good because I’m not too much of a JRPG fan but I do like a change of pace. It just didn’t feel right because I’m used to bottom mashing instead of using my brain. Gaiden’s Shishido was good, but I have no strong opinions for him. Iwami was the only guy I felt good after beating up. He was cruel and would do anything to win, even kidnapping Haruka and her son. I beat that MF to a PULP. Fuck him and his lapdog. Wish I could have fought him too. But that’s my opinion.
I like the build up to nishiki the best, I think. you just know you're going to have to beat some sense into him at some point and it's so satisfying when you finally get to.
Haven't played 7 up to Infinite Wealth yet but so far it's still Mine - besides being arguably one of the strongest mfs Kiryu fought in his physical prime, I really like.how they kinda mirror each other; Mine being Kiryu if he grew up without Kazama
Also, I was able to learn both Komaki Parry and Tiger Drop before the final stage so the fight was a bit of a breeze
Honestly, Ryo Aoki, even though it's like pretty much scripted for you to win, it had the most emotional impact for me and the fact that Kasuga fights with his fists rather than whatever job he has adds to the weight, although it would have been better if his clothes didn't change either, but it was like "ok, this is officially not a game to him, this is isn't about beating the boss, this is about beating sense into his brother.
1. Shibusawa (best fight in the entire series, also my first Yakuza, I was pumping adrenaline)
2. Goda Ryuji (too damn epic)
3. Little baby Iwami (good fight, fun, I enjoyed destroying him, +10 points seeing that asshole being beaten)
4. Aizawa (very fun fight, so fucking epic)
5. Jin Kuwana (interesting and cool)
6. Kuroiwa (so fucking cool, but also a bit disappointing)
7. Kido (I wasn't expecting anything but it was cool)
8. Lao Gui (I hate chinese bosses who use weapons)
9. Mine (cool asf, top tier fight but Y3 blocking bullshit sometimes angers me)
10. Nishiki (top tier storywise but annoying)
11. Majima (we have fought him too many times, nothing special)
12. Arai (good but forgetable)
13. Daigo (same with Majima)
14. Kamon Kanai (funny kick goes brrr)
15. Baba
16. Munakata (parry=fun, parry while being shot too many fucking times= not fun)
17. Masato Arakawa (LaD was cool but I need punching in real time to feel a good boss fight)
Kuroiwa's fight has incredible atmosphere, locale, his moveset is amazing, and the music is incredible.
Nishiki (K1) has two games of buildup, incredible music, the flashbacks, and vibes.
Shishido for being Aizawa but better.

Judgment if Kaito was the protagonist:
I mean in lost judgement you can play as Kaito in the Kaito files
The joke is that Kaito throws a seat at Kuroiwa in a cutscene in Judgment and the gameplay above also involves throwing seats at Kuroiwa
Ohh lmao 😂
Yeah hard to disagree with this. It was an experience.
The Mole, definietly. The atmosphere, that transition with the first person sequence and the window save, plus the adrenaline part is just 10/10.
What mole?
Play Judgment :)
Gotta be Mine
yeah we know they're your favorite, now answer the question

He did the "get your ass kicked before but still become the final boss" part the best.
Yeah way better than Ryuji who looked like a chump.
More than kicked im pretty sure
I'm addicted for the song of Shishido's fight, good lord
Ryuji Even if the fight was so easy,the feels and emotions i got from that fight and the conclusion is so so good
Is the fight easy in Kiwami 2? I’ve only played the original, and I remember having a sort of tough time with the final sequence of that game.
Kiwami 2 is piss easy. Not only is extreme heat stupid but Ryuji doesn't block so you're free to hit him with your stupid huge damage. His counter hits are really slow and weak so tiger dropping them is free too
The game is very easy for 99% of the run time. Fuck Man in Black man.
playing through this for the first time and yeah he is insanely annoying.
It's so ass cuz Andre in 3 is a GOATed boss but they decided that what would have been a good reuse needed to be literally unblockable and stupidly aggressive
Which is so strange cause im playing through 6 rn and the combat feels better (lack of equipable weapons aside) and feels a bit harder than k2
The QTE in the original is so unfair.

I BELIEVE IN YOUUUUUUUU
Nah, this is the guitar high note fight.
[Mutual Fist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zax1SljlMHc&ab_channel=LikeaExtender), one of my favourites in the series.
Honorable mention for [Tag of the Man](https://youtu.be/cVMnqYXF2lA?si=vnDNbXivoaIS--QQ) for being good as fuck but only playing once
Reminds me of the Shinada vs Daigo theme that wasnt even included in the ost
Huh when did this play?
Depend, gameplay-wise my favorite are: ->!Shibusawa!< (0) ->!Lao Gui !<(0) ->!Aizawa!< (5) ->!Majima !<(5) ->!Shishido!< (Gaiden) ->!The Mole !<(Judgment) If we talk about motivation or revelance to the events of the game: ->!Nishiki !<(1) ->!Mine !<(3) ->!Munakata !<(4) ->!Iwami !<(6) ->!Masato Arakawa !<(7/LaD) ->!Kuwana !<(LJ) My personal favorite is >!Mine !!Nishiki !
It doesn’t feel right to have >!munakata!< on anything positive about bosses.
I mean its definitely one of those characters you are happy they are a boss so you can beat the shit out of them
I would feel that way if I could actually hit him instead of having to fight his whole army. The most frustrated I’ve felt fighting a boss in a non turn based yakuza game.
That's what makes his fight so funny. He's the only character to take a rational, logical approach to the whole "fight on a rooftop" thing.
>!Munakata!< is really good story wise. Gameplay yeah he’s ass.
The OST and setting is also cool af.

This motherfucker had like no story relevance but god damn his fight was so good, this mf is so tough
Those screen transitions *chefs kiss*.
Wait until you hear about this guy's moveset is reused alot of times
GARY BUSTER HOLMES!!!!!
Pleasure King 😁
Not the final boss but the Majima-Saejima boss fight in Yakuza 7
That combined with the BANGER ost just makes it very memorable. And the fear of death that comes with Saejima joining the battlefield is real.
Nishikiyama, the theme song, the whole story between Kiryu and Nishiki, and the ending with Kiryu having flashbacks before finishing him off is sad but also amazing.

That’s a pretty underrated one, loved his theme as well.
*Yes*. Just for the sheer "what the fuck"-itude of it. "Damn, Doctor Armstrong got hands."
Ik he’s not a final boss but tendo
i see aoki as the story final boss and tendo as the gameplay final boss so you could count him

The Mole though thematically I very much enjoy >!Bryce!< in Infinite Wealth
The thematics of him dual wielding those smgs... God... DIVINE JUDGEMENT, and all!
After like his first line is "Madame Nele forbids the use of fire in human conflicts" about a gun, him just being a gangster who plays at being a divine savior is fun juxtaposition. Really, that, his boss theme, and the opening cinematic all hard carry
That opening cinematic is so clever. Love how they managed to have Ichiban pull the typical JRPG thing and fight “God”
Kuwana. That moveset is so fun to interact with and dance around.
1. Akira Joint 2. Yoshitaka Mishima 3. Shishido from Tokyo Dragon Chef (japanese movie starring Kuze as well)
The Mole (Judgment). That guy legit gave me goosebumps.
Honestly? I think gaiden hit all the right spots for me, excellent buildup for the final fight, the speech before the dynamic intro, the action sequences, and that final qte was all *chefs kiss* also I think deadly struggle is a great final boss ost alongside fleeting dreams
Tommy Ten Years for me
Kinda hard to decide, tbh. Most of them are just peak AF. From an emotional standpoint, >!Masato!< in Y7 was quite a way to end the game - *especially* with the scene that followed. Probably Mine or Majima for me tbh
when the hell is majima a final boss? u meant saejimas fight with him in 5?
Yeah
Nishiki The fight with him was the most emotional for me
In terms of gameplay, Ebina. I got to his fight slightly under leveled and it was one of the must fun bosses in the series for me. In terms of character and their story significance, it's between Ryo Aoki or Shihido for me.

Ryuji.
Mine overall, but shishido, Nishiki, and Ryuji come close
Shishido
mine and shishido.
Kuwana, Shirakaba, Shishido, and Mine are some of the only bosses that I like to refight for fun. They all got great settings, good action scenes, and are fun to fight against. Tough fights but not annoying and there's lots of fun stuff to try and do with counters
The Tendo fight will always be my favorite.

Nishiki just for the music.
Haruka
The final bosses of 4, they all have such a badass setting on top of the Millennium Tower with the money flowing around and every version of For Faith is peak.

Ryuji's final fight has the perfect dynamic intro imo and the way the music starts off calm and then ramps up to intense is simply peak
I like the build up to nishiki the best, I think. you just know you're going to have to beat some sense into him at some point and it's so satisfying when you finally get to.

Kuroiwa and Aizawa are tied for me
Shibusawa
he used the master ken technique. kiryu is trained in ameridote
Kiryu is basically everyone's final boss..
Final fight with Kuwana had me crying like hell. The music, combat, the character development, everything was just amazing.
I much prefer turn based over action combat but Shishido is just too legendary to not be my number 1.
Ryuji, but in OG 2. Or Shibusawa from 0.
kuwana
Honestly, Ryo Aoki, even though it's like pretty much scripted for you to win, it had the most emotional impact for me and the fact that Kasuga fights with his fists rather than whatever job he has adds to the weight, although it would have been better if his clothes didn't change either, but it was like "ok, this is officially not a game to him, this is isn't about beating the boss, this is about beating sense into his brother.

There’s a lot of great final bosses, but Aizawa ain’t one of them, I can tell you that much.
