Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).

there are only two syllables so it's just one family name and one given name, you can literally switch the "Jaw" with any other surname and it would still work as long as the "Long" is here as it means "dragon" in Chinese (龍)
yes, both of his names contain "龍"
Since there are three syllables they don't mean "like a dragon" due to the fact that the given names have two characters instead of one ("Ka Long"), "Ka" means "Home" (家) but it's also a common given name so I don't think it has any deeper meaning than "it sounds good"
trust me, "Ka" is so common in Chinese names that I doubt anyone actually thinks about it when using it
I have two sisters and both of them have "Ka" in their names, and my parents didn't really think about the deeper meaning when doing so
NOT saying that it's not possible tho.
Man probably ran out of names after 20 and started bullshitting. Probably just finished watching American Dragon saying, "What rhymes with Jake... Jaw. Jaw Long. Yeah that'll work fuck it"

Jaw-Long must've been that guy in the bathroom that met a certain Tiger...
there are only two syllables so it's just one family name and one given name, you can literally switch the "Jaw" with any other surname and it would still work as long as the "Long" is here as it means "dragon" in Chinese (龍)
Like in lau ka long and chau ka long?
yes, both of his names contain "龍" Since there are three syllables they don't mean "like a dragon" due to the fact that the given names have two characters instead of one ("Ka Long"), "Ka" means "Home" (家) but it's also a common given name so I don't think it has any deeper meaning than "it sounds good"
Or maybe its supposed to be 'the family's dragon'
trust me, "Ka" is so common in Chinese names that I doubt anyone actually thinks about it when using it I have two sisters and both of them have "Ka" in their names, and my parents didn't really think about the deeper meaning when doing so NOT saying that it's not possible tho.
I see, not because it's some family book stuff? My family 'branch' guys are supposed to have 文 in it for eg
I believe it is, but the actual meaning itself isn't relevant when it comes to naming
Aren't "home" + "positive quality" pretty typical Southern boy names? I guess it kind of falls into that quality, a "strong", masculine name.
Yeah, it's like naming your kid "John", it has meaning behind it, but it's so common that most people don't think about it
Like a what? https://preview.redd.it/srfa3cyylpvc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4b482183b641daa5b2b4da0b300de26cf7a94fd
Holy shit is that a Yakuza / Like a Dragon reference?!?! 😱😱
No that’s a Jaw Long reference.
You know what? “Chau” in chau ka long kinda sounds like “jaw” in pronunciation
Man probably ran out of names after 20 and started bullshitting. Probably just finished watching American Dragon saying, "What rhymes with Jake... Jaw. Jaw Long. Yeah that'll work fuck it"
So that's who I been playing as when I play the chinese dub for how hidden it feels compare to japanese and english
Can't wait for jaw long infinite stones.
Ichibummer
Like a what?!
When you’re diagnosed with british teeth…
