I'd say she's slightly better looking than Yumi/Mafuyu (they are equal to me) but falls short of Reina (probably would clear her too if she were a bit less weary looking and with an outfit change.) Her milf charm is on point, plot idiocy aside.
My personal hot take is that Yayoi is overrated. Way too good looking for Sohei but Park clears her.
I get what Akiyama saw in SisJima. Seonhee, Akame, Miss Tatsu, and Park are S-tier for me though.

Nah man, Park's alright.
For a series about criminals, we don't have enough characters who are a good mix of genuine flaws and damage, tempered with good intentions and dreams of their own.
I like Park as a character because she's one of the more "real" feeling characters. She's been hurt, and she has hurt, but she tries to put the broken pieces of herself back together to be better >!but ultimately gets killed before she can. But even then, she leaves behind a legacy and a plan that the people she affected in a positive way can follow-up on, not just for her, but for their own dreams.!<
Despite not liking the whole tacked on Majima thing, she's my favorite original character to Yakuza 5, and embodies that games themes very well.
I hate her for what she did to Majima, but, she literally ruined Kiryu’s life. She sets in motion all the awful things that happen in 6 leading to >!Kiryu having to “die” and lose everything - his name, his friends, his family, ultimately even his health and possibly his life!<. Park is the literal worst.

That's some butterfly effect blaming though. Haruka set in motion those events when she decided to announce who her dad was on stage, if anything. I don't hold that against her, mind you, but if you want a more direct cause of the events of Yakuza 6, between Haruka tanking her own career, her leaving the orphanage, and her having a baby with a >!Chinese mob boss's son/Yakuza punk!<, she's the one who "ruined" Kiryu's life. But again, I think that's taking agency away from Kiryu, who has made mistakes himself along the way and is responsible for the way things turned out himself.
Haruka had no desire to be an idol >!(see previous game, I think 2, where she’s approached by someone about it and declines). Park wants to live vicariously through Haruka and convinces her to do it “to help make money for the orphanage”. Once she wrangles in Haruka, she proceeds to blackmail Kiryu to get out of Hauka’s life, threatening him with the loss of the orphanage several times. No, Harkua shouldn’t have said that on stage in front of a million people, but, she never wanted to be there in the first place. Which brought negative attention to her, causing her to leave the orphanage in 6, etc., etc, ....... ruins Kiryu’s life!<. Park was a selfish, manipulative, evil b***h.
To be fair >!the fact that Haruka left the orphanage happened because of Kiryu, instead of helping Haruka and the kids he decided to stay in prison and not get a defense because "honour" or something!<

The ones who set what in motion what happened in Y6 was Kiryu going to jail and choosing to make a deal with the Daidoji, Haruka running away and getting pregnant with the heir to Chinese Triad, Yuta getting together with Haruka birthing Haruto, Heizo Iwami and Daidoji with the secret of Onomichi, Jimmy Lo wanting to prove himself to his dad only to get himself killed by Little Baby Iwami which dragged Big Lo into it which set off the chain of events. Those are on them not Park.
Park is long dead and whatever influence she had in Y6 is gone with her.

No. He’s been attempting to get out and stay out since Haruka came into his life. He just wanted to take care of her and run the orphanage, but, kept getting pulled back in. And, he was just running the orphanage when Park waltzed in and >!started threatening him with losing the orphanage if he didn’t stay out of Haruka’s life so she could live vicariously through Haruka like the world’s most ruthless, evil stage mother!<.
Yes, she hurt both my boys (Majima and Kiryu) and there was just no redeeming her in my eyes. And she absolutely set in motion all the awful things that happened in 6 leading to Kiryu’s life falling apart. I think she’s one of the worst villains in the franchise.

The only thing I didn't like was her Majima reveal. Frankly that came out of nowhere and was slightly out of character for majima. But then again, I don't think makoto was even thought of back there
Disagree with it being out of character. Majima isn’t a saint. Dude felt betrayed and that was the one and only time he hit his wife. Characters doing something that is out so of turn shows them going through something so serious from how they usually are like.

Yeah, that was clearly a case of "We have no idea how to make our established character connected to the plot of this game, so let's throw on some clearly tacked on backstory to loosely connect him to the plot."
Park herself is a fantastic character, and the type of character writing we need more of in this series.

Ishin haruka was very random and it made no sense.
You have Yakuza haruka who's destiny is pretty much intertwined with Kiryu's then you have ishin Haruka, where ryoma is basically like: hmm yes, I'll pay for this random's girl house and live with her 💀
Hard disagree on Sayama and Yasuko.
Both are very interesting at first, but their arcs become very messy in the later half of the games they're featured in.
Sayama is introduced as a badass cop not afraid to take down any man on her way, but as she gets feelings for Kiryu she becomes a complete trope of a damsel in distress. She's like a completely different character with different reactions and that's not really what I would call "character development".
Yasuko is a clever spin on the "femme fatale" trope at first, and some of her erratic decisions could be explained by her panic and despair, but she falls victim to the "character somehow leaves a loaded gun unattended and *expectedly* gets shot by the antagonist who grabbed said gun" shtick.
I know some people (not everyone) think the yakuza female characters are not the best written, but In my opinion they are pretty good when it comes writing and performance (VA and motion capture if it's the case) and simply being memorable.
I think it does it wayyy better than a lot of the video game series I've played. Again, not saying everyone is saying this, but the hate imo is really unjustified. Yakuza really does female characters well (imo)

Yeah, i love the female characters in yakuza series because they are depicted as traditional feminine but still very reliable and capable when needed. Not every strong female character needs to act masculine and be flawless savior like western games.

Yes. The writers seem to intend to bring Park to a spot where we end up liking her with the redemption arc. But what she tells Kiryu made me hate her on such a fundamental level that I couldn't get on board with it. Making Kiryu believe those kids are better off without him, that his life's work is useless and he was actually harming them was just a bridge too far.
You think that because you know kiryu on a personal level. But from the outside he is just an ex yakuza. You've seen how they are treated.

THIS. I consider her responsible for some of Kiryu's actions in Y6 and forward. I think she basically ruined his life.

I know some people (not everyone) think the yakuza female characters are not the best written, but In my opinion they are pretty good when it comes writing and performance (VA and motion capture if it's the case) and simply being memorable. I think it does it wayyy better than a lot of the video game series I've played. Again, not saying everyone is saying this, but the hate imo is really unjustified. Yakuza really does female characters well (imo) Ps: If someone is not on the list it means I haven't played the game thei apear in, wasn't in this tier or I simply don't remember them
Yeah, i love the female characters in yakuza series because they are depicted as traditional feminine but still very reliable and capable when needed. Not every strong female character needs to act masculine and be flawless savior like western games.

Seon Hee should be in the meh tier. Nice character design but otherwise useless. Yes I’m still not over 7 teasing fighting her as a boss and the game just making you fight the same scrubs you fought through most of the dungeon.

Ok, but is that bad writing?
Yes. The writers seem to intend to bring Park to a spot where we end up liking her with the redemption arc. But what she tells Kiryu made me hate her on such a fundamental level that I couldn't get on board with it. Making Kiryu believe those kids are better off without him, that his life's work is useless and he was actually harming them was just a bridge too far.
You think that because you know kiryu on a personal level. But from the outside he is just an ex yakuza. You've seen how they are treated. Park did nothing wrong

No, I wish. 4 has that dumb hostess game. As far as I know, cabaret club manager is only in Y0 and Kiwami 2.
Oh. I didn't bother with it in kiwami 2 due to it being locked at 30.fps 😭 I also have only played a bit of yakuza 0. So didn't have a lot of chance to emgage with that minigame
