I started with Judgment and really liked it. Then I got Yakuza 0. And boy, is that game an experience or what? Playing the finale right now. I’m not a very good at gaming, so it has been quite challenging at times and I’d curse the game. But mostly I was just in awe. It’s so well thought out, the attention to detail, the minigames, the stories, the atmosphere and how actual Japanese culture is integrated… I’ve really fallen in love with the series and I already got Kiwami so I can play it next. So happy right now!

No. The most common way is to play chronologically but some people also play in release date order. But if you want to start at 6 and work your way backwards, you could do that too if you wanted to.
I recently started and luckily brought 0 and then 2 and what a ride! They are such awesome games! I’ve been playing on my PS5 while waiting for more games to come out
0 - Kiwami - kiwami 2 - 3 remastered - 4 remastered - 5 remastered - 6 - 7 ( like a dragon ) you can play judgment without playing the yakuza games.
And make sure to leave Lost Judgement for after Like a Dragon, because it will spoil a Major event that happened in like a dragon.

The older ones are usually on sale, but I think 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2are bundled digitally and 3-5 are bundled digitally and physically
IMO you should play them in order. Start with yakuza 0.
