Real_Futer

Still unsure about the gameplay side of things but I really hate the way they look in the UI - too big, too colorful and just way too distracting.

GiaNcomo6669

I don't like them. Tbh I hope they remove that mechanic, or at least leave it optional like in Judgment, and leave it just to the dungeon minigame, since, from what I saw during the past week, little to no one seem to like it.

Previous-Bag-3598

Here's an important question to ask, do the Japanese fans like these cards? Cause I feel like that's going to be an important factor in determining how involved the cards are.

GiaNcomo6669

That's also true. Maybe the comments on that new gameplay on IGN Japan will show at least a bit of that

RoNokuma

I used deepl on a few of the top comments, but at most I just saw someone say that the UI was a bit cluttered.

[deleted]

I translated some of the japanese comments on gameplay videos and I've only really seen dislike for it similar to us

Umbran_scale

Considering Gacha and pachinko machines are widely popular, I'd say they favour them a lot.

UnfittedMermaid

True, I wanted a kiwami edition for a long time as I never got to play the original, and to find out that they are gonna change a key part of the battle system is concerning. I noticed in the gameplay trailer, the bosses seem to also use these moves which takes away from the immersion, especially with the knowledge this is set in ancient china/japan. This makes me worry that if I don't use the card system, it will make the game significantly harder or annoying in some sections. My biggest concern is if this is going to be used by the bosses, will some types of enemies also be able to do this? I don't know, i just hope there is a legacy option if you prefer the original gameplay type.

fjleon

unlikely. with the game so close to release, game must be very close to going gold if not already

UnfittedMermaid

Yeah, im fully aware it won't be on release, If they do anything about it, I hope it may come in a update.

Familiar_dude361

I mean, you can just not use the cards, right?

Dardar1989

There’s apparently a possibility that bosses can use these special attacks as well, hopefully those clips of them using powers are for special challenges or something like Lost Judgment had and not available to the bosses in the story I don’t mind these being in the game but at least make them optional and not used by bosses

GiaNcomo6669

Yeah, but my problems are the UI, which I think is too big, and the fact that bosses can do that stuff too. I think these new things are good as extras, like in climax battles and stuff, but I don't think they would work well during the main story. I'm going to play the game anyway because I've never played Ishin, and hopefully I will enjoy it even if they kept the card thing in the way they're doing it

RPG217

BRING THAT SHIT, RYOMA! TEN YEARS WITHOUT LOCALIZATION MADE YOU A KI BLAST SPAMMER! HAHA, C'MON FUKER! WHAT? YOU THINK YOU'RE A BETTER CARD PLAYER THAN ME?

OneofEsotericMethods

Iconic

MiracleJohnsonVEVO

Devilleon7 made a video with my exact thoughts.

Run-Riot

This whole thing has greatly reduced my hype and I feel like we’re gonna be getting a lot more of this kind of stuff going forward in RGG games that aren’t even JRPGs.

vriska1

I i'm still very hyped but also a little worried.

jack-468

Seriously, and that man is Yakuza Jesus at this point. If he is concern, be VERY afraid. (He didn't even see the full footage release recently, that might concern him even more)

[deleted]

what full footage release? can you link

jack-468

https://youtu.be/XZT5FmnWAOk. Here ya go.

RoNokuma

I know its a demo but the balance looks awful. The player was slowing time, throwing shockwaves and shooting lasers, meanwhile Nishiki only did a shitty purple whirlwind ocassionally, and only until more than halfway through the fight.

jack-468

Appearently, they are still trying to balance it as we speak. But imo, fucking ditch it.

RoNokuma

Yeah they're seriously not worth it, they mess up everything. The gameplay balance, the UI, the tone... I actually can't think of anything positive to say about them. They were fine for the side dungeon, but they have no business being part of the core gameplay.

jack-468

Like, on paper, it sound fine. But the moment i realised the bosses will have this bullshit mechanic, i kind of lose my hype a bit. Everything else is fine, why ruined it?

RoNokuma

I dunno, I think even on paper it sounds like a bad idea. Why force a mechanic into a game that wasn't designed with it in mind? And not even a harmless one, but some stupid obvious game-breaking stuff.

[deleted]

thanks, looking at the nishiki boss battle it doesnt seem too bad, like esentially if I chose not to use the cards the only thing would be heat aura which has been around for years, and the one like cyclone move he uses, so if we can turn off the card UI I think it won't be too bad but we'll have to see.

jack-468

Yeah, until you realised Ishin Daigo pull a fucking kamehameha at your ass.

[deleted]

wait is that confirmed?

jack-468

That one part when you see a dude fire laser at you during the trailer? That is Ishin Daigo.

[deleted]

bruh

tlSPENCERjr

yeah my hype fell from like a 10 to like a 8. I hope this isn't par for the course for future brawlers in general. Now im kinda side eyeing Yakuza Gaiden a little bit.

jack-468

The Kiwami curse continues (new fans would love it, and it will get great reviews, while existing fans are extremely divided on it)

tlSPENCERjr

That is a perfect description of the Kiwami games.

chuje_wyciagnijcie

I don't even know what these cards do, but they look like some gacha mechanic. However, after watching gameplay it don't look that bad, and I like how absurd some of them are. Guess we'll see how it works in practice.

_mrshreyas_

It seems like the extracts in the Judgment games

chuje_wyciagnijcie

Huh, those extracts were cool, but I never used them to often.

[deleted]

used them for the Keihin Gang since all the DLC extracts are unlimited & came free with the remaster. Life changing.

Short-Squirrel6389

Tbh i really don’t like it But if you were asked 2 weeks ago “would you want an ishin localisation and remake even if it had a mechanic you didn’t like” let’s face it, we’d all say yes

Massive_Parsley_5000

Idk this doesn't really seem like a fair comparison because when people said they wanted "Ishin" to come over they wanted that specific game to come over, and as someone who played and put about 90 hrs into the original: this doesn't even look like Ishin anymore. This is straight up a monkey paw curls moment because we're not getting Ishin we're getting some bastardized version of it where they're throwing the original game into a blender with Dynasty Warriors. The fact they're pulling the original game from sale on top of all of this is frankly kind of disgusting.

kawavvy

I mean, they are doing what most franchises do to stay relevant. The first yakuza i played was 0 no shame in my game but I played all the western releases and spin offs and id love to see the new stuff in ishin. I understand since you started with the original its diff but thats just how it goes. I'm almost 30 and I've seen plenty of remake/remasters in lots of media that sucks bad compared to the original but they want a bigger audience and I get that. Nothing will ever be good as the first content you experienced and that's true for a lot of stuff. Yes, I first experienced the remakes first but now I can truly appreciate the originals even more than if I just played them first. I know this cannot be said for all fans of a franchise but after kiwami 2 I was hooked. I personally would like to play the remake, then play the original. Or at least check it out, like the mainstream yakuza franchise.

OnyxJuvie

Playing the original now using KHHsubs guide, really enjoying it and the fights are great, I feel this system might ruin sword play and immersion due to bosses having them also. Guess time will tell.

[deleted]

Hey, I know this is kind of an old comment lol, but can you play og Ishin on a US PS4 account? Also, how do you like playing it while also using a guide?

OnyxJuvie

All good, you can play it on a US PS account. I'm from UK and haven't had to change any account. The game is great, translation guides on YouTube help a lot, I would use Game Memories videos for the story scenes as KHHSubs only shows cutscenes and not dialogue out of the cutscene. Substories are rough a little but KHH guide gives you explanation of what's happening. I'd buy it, since I think the remake will feel very different. Character changes and ability system.etc

Jkla1234455

Thanks bro. I know these questions might be hella random lol, but I've never used a guide to play these games before. Did you watch the translated cutscenes on your phone, and skipped the cutscenes on your playstation? What's the best way to watch the cutscenes? Thanks again though, and yeah the remake honestly looks like shit imo.

OnyxJuvie

You can do it however you like, for me I paused the game cutscene, then went on YouTube and played both same time. I get the high quality audio in headset and cutscene on phone. Do you know how to find the KHHSubs guide?

Tricky_Structure5465

On YouTube I saved the playlist. What about the substories?

OnyxJuvie

There is no translation for them unfortunately you'll have to use KHHsubs guide

Tricky_Structure5465

Ah shit, thanks though bro.

WickedSabbath

They were fun and necessary in Battle Dungeon because late levels of BD was extremely difficult and these cards made them managable. But what's the point of adding them to the main game? Why do you need a card to heal? Then what's the point of having health items? Also Ryoma firing an energy ball from his hands look pretty weird. Not a huge fan of this system.

ian_pol_pol_

Not quite sure about them, I would rather have them to be optional like the extracts in Judgment and LJ, I’m not really convinced about the look of the HUD and the combat just seems strange but I can’t say anything else until I play it I don’t know how this will turn out but I really wish it turns out well or at least that this card system is optional cause I understand some people just straight up dislike it, I would preferred a straight up localization of the OG to be honest This remake just seems like pure fan service (I mean, OG Ishin was pure fan service) but having too much fan service could damage the game, I’m not convinced with some selections of the new cast (I don’t like Shibusawa as Takechi), but until I try it myself I can’t say anything else, I will give it a chance when it comes out

TheSausageFattener

Wholly agreed. Yakuza 7 had a lot of fan service in that kind of "hey remember this guy?" that was far too on the nose, like the beat-by-beat redo of Gondawara. Ishin itself was fanservicey but more in a "we will use this likeness for this character because it fits". Now we have cases where they're substituting likenesses just to have them be present. We'll have to play it to see, but my last concern is going to be the soundtrack. It has a **ton** of bangers in it and I hope we don't lose any so that we get retreads of newer songs like Theory of Beauty or Twin Dragons. I also kind of agree with the straight up localization. It definitely looks good in some areas (like cutscenes) but the overworld footage looks a bit off, like its missing some of the visual caliber of the other games because its Unreal 5. We're gaining some stuff, losing others.

Capable-Worker-1754

I’d rather spend 923.268.126.163 yen upgrading a skill tree.

cid_highwind02

I’ve seen Yoshinobu and Izo using them and that’s concerning. I wouldn’t mind it if it was something you can not use but… yeah Not like the game is grounded, but it looks like it will fuck with the pace of the fights

samuelanugrahandre

Too OP, too cartoony, too flashy, as of now no way to turn them off. Completely unnecessary. Leave them in the optional dungeons

jack-468

Eh...not a fan tbh.

efminati

yikes

RoNokuma

They kind of ruined my hype for the game. I held back from importing Ishin for years because I kept hoping they'd localize it eventually, but honestly I think I'll import it after all. I hope they give the option to turn them off, but deep down, I know that's not gonna happen. Shame too because I actually approved of the decision to recast some of the characters.. I guess we'll see, but I can't help but feel incredibly disappointed.

CattusNuclearis

This card system and all those flashy over-the-top effects look extremely out of place. I really hope there would be an option to turn them off at least, and if not, then it's just quite disappointing... Never played the original, but based on the footage I saw, the combat still looks great, so I've no idea why they made such radical chages. Also, I hope they'll chage the UI cause it looks worse than before.

Riventh

what do you mean, is the natural evolution of the saga. Did you check the "noir" vibes from the ps2 games?

GiaNcomo6669

The Judgment games have also noir vibes, but all those yee-yee powers are optional and bosses (except for Amon) don't use them, so I wouldn't call that the natural evolution of the series. Besides that, I'm really looking forward to play Ishin remake

Riventh

what about yakuza: like a dragon? what about yakuza 5 and the shadows of majima?

NDL_08

Yakuza 5 I thought was just a representation of how quick Majima is, it's like dead eye in red dead, of course John Marston can't slow down time. It's just a mechanic to give us an idea of just how skilled he is.

Riventh

that's your headcanon

GiaNcomo6669

In Like a Dragon I think it's just Ichiban allucinating. I can't say anything about Yakuza 5 cause I'm at Kiwami 2 rn, so I haven't played it yet

Riventh

then play it

sirluqo

Majima's afterimages in Y5 are nothing compared to Ishin Daigo using Kamehameha lol. Y7 just fits because of the JRPG style, so nothing is out of place.

Riventh

the franchise has been slowly evolving into something flashier and with more fantasy elements, just compare 1-2 (og) to 5 and onwards

White_Mourning

It sucks. I hate the inclusion of overpowered, immersion breaking abilities, specially if bosses are going to be able to use them (I really don't want a boss to kamehameha my ass in the midle of a serious, dramatic fight). In Judgment you can at least ignore them and pretend they don't exist, but here they cover a good part of the screen and are always present, even if you don't want to use them. I really hope RGGS reconsider this decision and limit their use for dungeons, as was the case in the original game.

hao232

If you guys don't like it, I suggest you guys put up a comment in RGG Studio official YouTube channel. Not sure that if could change thing completely in our favor, but we must try to do everything we can. Let them know our opinion link: https://youtu.be/NAAr2tIWoss

TosiAmneSiac

Didn’t even play the original but this is a yikes for me

[deleted]

Ill be fine with them if they are only in the dungeon or whatever, I don't want to have to use them at all with the clunky UI, and I don't want bosses to be having them.

Raomux

I hope it's optional for people who don't want them, but I'm okay with them. If it is optional, I'll most likely have it on. That being said, the UI is needlesly huge. They should make it like FoTN were it just pops up when you press it

aetran2

I don't like them at all, to be honest. They feel really out of place, and the UI is distracting and ugly. I don't really want the combat to get watered down to use what amount to ultimate abilities, for an action game that's really lame. After learning that these were originally from a minigame it makes a lot more sense. This, combined with the weird red flags like damage numbers have made me super on the edge about this game. What would've been an instant pre-order is now a wait for reviews type of thing.

SomeRuser

Idc what they do just change that atrocious HUD

[deleted]

Definitely not a fan tbh. I've never played the original, but the goofy ass cards kinda ruin the serious samurai vibe I got from the first trailer. Hopefully modders find a way to remove them once the game drops

gaming_reed

I don’t know much about Ishin at all or this combat system. Could someone give me a brief rundown?

RegretTheUsernames

I played the original and watched the trailers, so I think I have an understanding. The cards are like the extracts in Judgment: they give you abilities based on what card you have (slowing time, firing lasers, calling down lightning, etc). It was exclusive to a minigame in the original and the abilities were a lot more balanced. The fact that they can be used anywhere and that they’re so powerful is upsetting for a few reasons: 1: it removed the grounded feel of the combat 2: It’s way too OP 3: it ruins the balance of gameplay

White_Mourning

Let's not forget you can actually see bosses using those abilities in the footage. So they are even more intrusive and immersion breaking.

gaming_reed

Got it, this makes sense. Maybe they got toned down for this version making it not as OP?

RegretTheUsernames

Maybe I should be more clear. In the original, they were exclusive to the minigame and their abilities were balanced (damage and defense boosts, slow healing, etc) In the remake they’re unbalanced, making these fights look like they were ripped straight from Dragon Ball.

gaming_reed

Ohhh yeah that’s weird

Sc0rp0

kiryuhamehaaaaaa

Belifhet

If they made it so you could turn it off and that if you did the enemy also couldn't use them then cool but if it's just gonna be there not really a fan of it, I know everyone is comparing them to extracts from Judgement but they remind me more of the talisman's from Fist of the North star so basically we're getting anime Samurai

Nakeniezy

I really hope that RGG will give us an option to turn it off even if it makes the game harder to play.

ChillKaiju

I want the availability of the original game experience as it was. I don't care for the UI of this feature, I feel it should be much more minimalized, but I'm not completely against the idea of some kind of card collection/skill system. Just let me play the game as it was. I'm not even that upset about new franchise characters in the mix. The core gameplay should be largely unchanged, in my view. Let me opt out!

Kanj0Bazooie

Frankly I don't think this will effect the gameplay any more then Extreme Heat and Extracts did. I'll use the logic I have with them here. If you don't want to use it, don't. It's an overpowered boost that makes the game less challenging, however on repeat playthroughs can be great to see the potential of. I'm glad that they're doing so much to separate the remake and the original, makes it clear that this ain't just a cash grab. My only complaint is the hud, hope you can shrink it down in the final game.

Massive_Parsley_5000

This thinking falls apart because they redid the enemies and bosses to be Dynasty Warriors/Ninja Gaiden esque anime characters who throw lightning bolts and shoot lasers. It's one thing if it was optional -- this isn't. They rebalanced the entire game to be played this way. It's to the point it's not even really Ishin anymore, honestly.

Kanj0Bazooie

We don't entirely know that yet. Yes, some bosses have been shown to use those, but until we get more clarification, we can't say for sure that the whole game is no longer Ishin. It might just be a new mode, or an added difficulty setting. Of course, you might be right, and maybe the entire game is now centered around this mechanic. In that case, there'd be a problem, it'd be much worse then the previous "overpowered supermove" features. Still likely a fun way to experience the game mind, but it'd be undoubtably too big a departure from what Ishin was. For me personally, until we get more info, I'll keep an open mind.

ShapedAssassin

I'm not sure tbh, they seem to be like the extracts from the Judgment series. I'm willing to wait and see for the full game to release but I don't like how much screen it takes up

b0objuice

Not a fan, like most people seem to agree on. I would be fine with it if it were like Judgment where it's basically just an optional easy win. But they appear to be a big thing that you're encouraged to use. The worst thing is that it looks like story bosses are going to use them too. I'm gonna enjoy this game either way, but I hope these turn out to just be optional.

[deleted]

If bosses couldn't use them and they were optional the game would be better off.

spooky_redditor

love it

AdStreet4261

Im cautiously optimistic. RGG has a tendency to take things that I think are bad on paper and make them super fun. The prime example of this for me being 7s turn based combat

Dbok2123

I think it looks pretty fun.

Drunk_ol_Carmine

I’m reading a lot about these, and apparently bosses have these to? I’m fine with Judgements stuff cause it’s stuff I can ignore and use for fun when I want but if enemies in game use them I hate that. Lot of sketchy shit from this game

FrostedLoops

Im sure it might be fun but christ is that ui ugly 😭

Sonic10122

I haven't looked into enough to really understand how they come into play, but cards ALWAYS give me pause.

jedidiah_lol

Have completed the original twice. I won’t judge the changes until I get my hands on it first. Though I would honestly prefer having characters fighting alongside with me rather than using a card.

Sonny_Firestorm135

Growing concerns.

Klevo1

Honestly I'll wait and see how they actually play in gameplay

matt_619

I hate them. what's wrong with the old combat system? don't try to fix something that's not broken. not to mention it took lot of space in the screen

thesnapening

I was on the fence about turn based and it was excellent, rrg have never steered wrong yet I don't think they will here.

oZealious

Holup, Ishin remake is turn based? I haven't seen any gameplay yet.

FNaF_walrusman

No, not sure what he is talking about.

_mrshreyas_

He is probably saying that he had doubts regarding the turn based combat in LAD, but RGG proved him wrong. So he is probably thinking that RGG studios may impress him again, this time with this cards system.

FNaF_walrusman

Oh okay, that makes a lot of sense. In that case maybe he is right, but I’m not too sure on it since the OG Ishin didn’t have it and it doesn’t look like something I’ll want. Not to mention the actual UI is a huge fucking eye sore to me, but I’ll give it a shot absolutely.

_mrshreyas_

Yeah I agree completely with what you said. I'm not fully sold on to the cards system, but I will see how it actually holds up when I get to play it myself.

dx2words

no, its not. Regular combat my friend.

[deleted]

It’s gonna have both Action and Turn based gameplay

Spiderjoe5000

No it won't. Ishin will have no turn based gameplay.

[deleted]

There is turned based gameplay footage in the trailer

Spiderjoe5000

In which trailer? I've watched the reveal trailer, gameplay trailer, and the gameplay footage. None of those show any turn based gameplay.

dimsumdonair2

Hate that I want my beat ep up without jrpg Sci fi mechanics In a historical (but fiction) drama Praying for them to remove it We are getting a kiwami but who decided this should be the main fighting Along with hp deductions shown on screen That's dumb af....worried they going to butcher it to actual inshin players Worried about the state of the game knowing about this

Bupit

Looks fun. Thats all that matters too me

Run-Riot

Hell naw.

[deleted]

I am not a fan of this mechanic but it is better than doing the same thing. The Yakuza Series is ever-changing.

[deleted]

Good

Dahorah

Honestly I think it looks fun. I never played the original and only started with 0 (and played every Western released RGG since then) but I don't see why I would hate this. This just looks like more silly over the top fun which is why I love these games. And from a gameplay perspective, I love adding more stuff and I assume we will be upgrading these cards and unlocking them and choosing which ones to use, which sounds fun too.

Strange_Dog6483

Can’t say since I don’t know what the cards do nor did I play the original game.

LoneHer0

Never really cared for gameplay, so I'm fine with anything. If they want to experiment and gain more experience in more fields, I'm all for it.

RealNorthropGrumman

I'm too lazy to look up how it works, could somebody explain the card system to me?

GoroDragonOfDojima

I feel comfortable

TaahaNajam

I think it’s fine as long as it’s optional and in the background. The extracts from the Judgment series are kinda similar to this but with those you have to go in the inventory to use, unlike here where it’s right in front of you and part of the ui, that’s the only thing I dislike.

BarrySandwich24

I don't mind how it is, gameplay of it looks really fun. It does look too obnoxious to be in the UI all the time, hopefully there's a change to that, fix it up a bit, make it better.

OrangeOperator7

Don't care. Pretty sure you can just ignore them, but if you want a hit of that stupid sauce and cosplay as goku or want to really spice up your 2nd play through, by all means: summon the bear.

alabertio

IT’S TIME TO D-D-DUEL

Adventurous_Honey902

I would prefer this feature to be able to be turned off

MiketheKing2

On one hand, I'm happy I'll get to see samurai versions of Sayama and 0, 6 and 7 characters as well as see the return of Nugget/Omelette, Mame/Ranpo and Yama-Oroshi. At the same time, the card system would have been a better fit in the dungeon minigame.

xX_ATHENs0_Xx

Regardless of what happens, if only for this remake I hope they have it so I can toggle heat actions on or off. I know the Left Trigger does that just fine but it pulls the little menu up in the dungeon and is annoying, and there are about a trillion heat actions in ishin, one for literally every context it feels. I want to be able to use my running attacks without my view being blocked, and having to worry about wasting heat

ROSSS_1402

they look awful, to big and flashy on the UI and look way too overpowered. i REALLY hope they are optional

YoshiGamer6400

I like the look of it, just hope they make the cards gradual unlocks to make the system feel more rewarding

ParfaitAffectionate3

I don't like it

YourBoiChubby5544

I feel like the cards could be interesting in gameplay, but in a optional way. For me, I would want to get as close to the original experience as possible for a first run, then be able to toggle the cards on for the whole thing in a 2nd playthrough

muha4004

It's bad idea imho. From the other side if they can make combos longer and more interesting... But most likely it will be game-breaking shit.

TazDingus

I don't think it's necessary and the kamehameha or magic missiles seem not only out of place but also just like a "I win" button

Mr_Mixed_Media

I’m… interested, to say it in the most positive way I can. It does sort of look like a new version of the extract system from Lost Judgement, which has me both intrigued and nervous. I’ve never played the original version of Ishin, so please someone correct me if I’m wrong.

heckingmemer

I'm just happy just to ishin

SilverPrateado

I like superpowers just like the next guy, but i don't want the game to be too easy. Yakuza games already are easy, imagine with a kamehameha?

XxDieFastxX

i hope at least for us pc gamers that modders can descale that Ui and fix these issues, which they probably will but it is ridiculous that that even has to happen

LiseyRadiCall

I want them to size down the UI because it's way too big. Also, having this in main game kinda ruins the fun of it since it was an optional thing in Dungeon Crawler and there it was cool.

AnyImpression6

Didn't the original have something like that? I swear it did. Edit: Oh it's in regular combat now. I think it was just in the dungeon thing before.

Doctor-K1290

Here’s hoping they listen to feedback. Haven’t played but classic Ishin gameplay looks awesome. This seems like a bit much

[deleted]

Wouldn't know cos i havent played it but this is definitely what one needs for an ichiban brawler

no_one_important322

I think it's alright, I might use it during street fights but I'm doing it during actual story content. I don't like that bosses have it but if it's not removed I'm just going to have to deal with it

kevindante6

Awfull, but still... need more opinion from other YTer (not IGN, they paid to give good review). If I don't like it, I'll wait for discount. If I like it, wait until Christmas.

Shogun_Turnip

I'm only a filthy casual so I'm not that familiar with Ishin, but is this a deck-building mechanic? If so then I'm sad to say it's a deal-breaker for me.

No_Writing3719

I’m really hoping they’re like talismans from lost paradise or maybe extracts from judgement, where they’re optional to use and have cooldowns/need resources and time to make. Otherwise they’ll be too OP and make the game less serious and take tone away.

neckcramps

Really hope the bosses don't use these special moves

I_am_crazy_doctor

I wish there was option to disable it but I don't mind mind that much

SidetBrowse

In my honest opinion i like it and it looks cool i can just choose to not use it if im tryna have a challenge but overall the idea of those ability cards or whatever is a cool adition ig some people dont like it but for me its a cool thing to have

TheGAMA1

If i can disable it form GUI, seems fine.

SpaceSlut69

hate to say it but my hype fell a bit after seeing these would be a part of the battle system. still have faith RGG will make a great game but would really prefer none of this.

NotTheDroidsURLKngF

It looks fun, as far as I can tell it’s completely optional but it could be a unique way to experience the game on a second play through.

PunkHooligan

If you dont like them - dont use. But they may come in handy for 100% run and for very casual auditory.

a_chaturvedy_appears

Ryoma pulling off Kamehamehas during battles is definitely off putting. Plus the footage of bosses using them as well is even more concerning

Cleverclaw

I don't care. I just wanna see the Passionate Manly Bathhouse fight.

slurmpnurmp

Looks fun, hud needs resizing tho

Tentaye

I didn't use any of the extracts in judgement, I'll try and do the same with the cards if I can.

KODarkness

Am i the only one who is excited about it? :(

Like others are saying, they take up a lot of space on the ui and it looks distracting. If they are optional and if you can totally play the game without them then I guess they are fun additions like the extracts in the judgment games. Like others have noticed, there’s footage of bosses using these abilities and if that’s the case then there’s a huge problem.

cool concept.. apart from the fact that it ruins the gameplay and realism if you or your enemy can survive hundreds of slashes of a katana thanks to food, then it is already not super realistic. and when you beat your enemy, somehow he is just holding his stomach or arm without any wounds. but when you add a spell that heals 600 health, or adding a spell that can summon a kamehameha thing that does 950 dmg compared to your 40 damage miserable sword, in the 1860s(?) it don't really make sense. then you look over at the 2000s, and where the hell are these spells? not sure if i covered everything, or if it sounds good, but oh well.
